The best restaurants serving British food in Central Scotland

We took our hound family for dinner and received a warm welcome. It was a semi-formal environment and delicious food. They also had a kids menu (~£7.50 for kids mains). Booking is essential and they're not open every evening. Would definitely visit again. Menu photos attached, although I believe that the menu does change quite regularly.

We just came out of curiosity really. We looked around the shop which is very good and purchased a few items. We then had some very interesting coffees and would have bought some food if we hadn't long had breakfast. We particularly commend our waitress Romie who was a breath of fresh air with her bright personality.

6 of us went in for a bar lunch today at 12:15pm, we ordered 2 tuna, mayo and mozzarella panini's, 3 steak and onion paninis, 3 coffees, soft drinks and a child's meal of macaroni cheese and chips. By 12:50 we were still waiting for the food and the coffees were finished. The child's meal arrived which was only lukewarm so was returned to be heated up. The tuna paninis eventually arrived and we were told the steak and onions was being cooked - we had finished the tuna paninis before the steak ones finally arrived. There was no mention on the menu of the steak being in a marinade and one of the ladies found it tasted vinegary plus she found a lemon pip on her steak. We finally finished our meal at 1:40 but none of us really enjoyed it because of the lengthy wait - and the way the food came in dribs and drabs. To be fair, the young man who served us was pleasant and very apologetic, he gave us refills of our coffee on the house and didn't charge for the steak and onion panini which had the lemon pip in it but the whole experience left us feeling we won't be going back

Called in for a spot of lunch. Very nice. Dogs have their own little section on the menu too. Great views over the lake nice place to sit with a coffee and admire the views. We returned a few days latter.

Fantastic sushi with beautiful presentation and reasonable prices. A great selection of other Japanese dishes too. We had ramen, yaki soba and katsu curry. Friendly service from Tash. Definitely recommend

Had a fantastic meal on Friday night, 13 adults & 3 kids. Staff were fantastic, what a friendly & welcoming restaurant. Food was very tasty & well presented. Service was great.

Absolutrly appauling! Overbooked, understaffed and not worth the money. I was part of a henny booked from 2-4 we got seated at 2:15 and our first drinks arrived after 3. Our PRE-ORDERED food started to arrive at 3:35. Boozy brunch is meant to include 6 cocktails and we only managed to get 4 rounds of drinks because everything was so slow. Also saw staff bickering and they kept running out of glasses. Would not recommend.

10/10. From our welcome at reception and beyond. Our room was comfy, nicely decorated, quiet. Bed was really comfy, shower was great too. Breakfast was hot, well cooked and staff were smiley and helpful. What a lovely outlook. Such good value for money

Nice authentic Scottish pub. The food was great and the waitresses were friendly. As well as being in a great location and within walking distance of our hotel. We would love to come back on our next visit to St. Andrews.

Absolutely brilliant pub. Love music on most weekends, pool tables in the back, sports on the TV, great.
