Traveled from Glasgow. Told best chip shop in fife .Very disappointed. Chips very creasey fish was very nice but batter not cooked through. Had fritters also but same as chips.

Fish and chips (and ships) from Beatrice's (Valentine's) is a tradition handed down the generations in our family. My fish of choice is Icelandic (boneless) haddock - fried to perfection as I wait and served with tasty chips, a slice of lemon, salt and vinegar. 'But what about the ships?' I hear you say. After grabbing your bounty and bidding the staff farewell, take the quick drive down to Seafield Beach. You can park, take in the sea air, and enjoy your food while gazing at the ships peppering the horizon - taking a postprandial stroll along the shore if you see fit. Watch out for the seagulls though - they also appreciate Beatrice's delights.

Very good prices, but quite a long wait in a very busy shop, and the food wasn't up to the usual high standard

Food has gone extremely downhill, chips have been pretty much raw twice in a row now, asked for salt and viniger on one of the mini fish suppers and nothing on the other but they didn’t write which had what (asked for a lot) say trying to figure it out but neither taste lien they do and my partner asked for brown sauce and it’s about a slither of sauce I’d avoid not as good as they used to be pretty shameful

Recently moved back to the area and went to valentes on Saturday which used to be my local chip shop. I didn't realise it had been taken over by polish people, I was standing 5 minutes whilst the had a conversation in polish, before my order was taken. Couldn't understand them very well and whilst waiting for my food they never spoke to any customers only each other in Polish. This used to be very customer orientated shop and used to be made to feel welcome and have a banter. Sadly this is no longer the case.

I actually wasn't very impressed. The chips were not good and my burger wasn't nice. My friend had fish and said it was lovely, didn't enjoy her chips either.

It's the best fish supper I had in a long time yes I will go back

I dont like that style of curry sauce but the chips were good.

We are not local but always come to get our fish and chips here. Tonight my partner ordered our food and waited almost 30 mins before he had to ask for his money back. When he asked the young girl for his money back her response was. HAVE YOU NOT HAD YOUR FOOD THEN!!! Obviously not or else he would not still be standing there!!! Finally he paid for a portion of curry sauce, the girl told him that there wasn’t a portion of it left so gave him the money back, but the bit that was left she wrote his name on it put it in a bag and put it in the warmer till he got his order. The Same girl then served someone 2 people behind my partner and gave him the curry sauce. Obviously the girl concerned had no concept of anything that was going on around her. Needless to say after many years as a satisfied customer we now will no longer be using this shop.

Very disappointed with the service, sign clearly says to order on entering the shop, so I approached the counter and was told to join the queue and they would get to me. Moments later, another customer entered, and his order was taken immediately, but I was still not given the opportunity to order. Eventually I was asked if I had ordered, and instead of taking my order, they went to find another member of staff to do that. At no point was any apology offered for the poor service, the food was satisfactory, but won't be back.

Food tasted ok, but portion of chips with my fish supper was disappointing.

First time in the place. Place order, take name, wait, get food. Staff were polite and friendly. Food was cooked fresh, not already cooked and sat under a food light. The portion size I ordered was fine. Food was tasty. Best I can say is I'll be going back. 😉

Ordered from here with my new girlfriend as I was trying to impress but I regret to say NEITHER of us were impressed, the food was cold, the fish was mouldy "as my grandad recently found out" and worst of all the chips were from MCDONALDS. When I rang to complain the owner Dario called me a "Freak show act" and told me to "suck my mum" will not be back

Best chip shop in Scotland( at least all the places I have gone to.) Many choices and clean place. I highly recommend it! I have eaten here often when I lived here. I highly recommend it! You won't be disappointed. 👍🏻

Best chippy in the town! Never greasy, always open to feedback especially if they have new suppliers! Bosses are great, few of the younger girls out the front could do with looking happy at their job but overall highly recommend

Didn't fancy cooking so I treated myself to a Valente's chippie. Ordered the boneless atlantic haddock and it was absolutely gorgeous only down side was the chips or lack of them. Highly recommended .

Despite being a Friday night we got served quite quickly. We always come here for a chippy when going to my partners grandparents

Disappointingly average fish supper. Chips were fine, fish was fresh but batter a bit on the soggy side.

3 stars as the fish supper was great but the white pudding supper tasted like it was cooked 101 years ago when the chippie opened.....if I'd had to brake hard, it would have shattered the windscreen; if I'd had a head on collision, the survivors in the other car would have been killed by white pudding as it shattered both windscreens and killed them.... overcooked is an understatement, they lost count on cooking times!! Would have thought with 101 years experience they'd know how to fry a white pudding

I ordered chips this evening from Valentes in Kirkcaldy. I specifically asked for lots of salt and lots of vinegar. When I was called forward the lady was wrapping them and I again said I need lots of salt and vinegar hoping she would let me see but she carried on double wrapping them. I got back and there was not enough. I did not enjoy and threw most of them away. Disappointed.

Easily one of the best traditional chipshops in Fife. I find myself traveling just to enjoy an Icelandic fish

The chips are exceptional, its ashame because we got 2 fish suppers last week and have to say the scrappy portion size of fish was way too small and the batter is really sopping with grease and just way too thick. Not a good experience. We went after reading the reviews, strangely a few said it was decent fish, not sure if we just got a bad batch, but definitely not satisfactory, and that's compared to lots of places I've visited in the UK during my lifetime.I would have taken them back but they were well wrapped and was nearly home and were really hungry. Not an enjoyable experience unfortunately.

I haven't been here for years but decided to pop in for my tea today. A little bit of a wait but at least you know it's freshly cooked and it was worth waiting for. I had the spicy haggis and it was delicious, my daughter had a smoked sausage which was a bit over cooked for her liking but the chips were really good. 9 out of 10 for the spicy haggis, 4 out of 10 for the smoked sausage, and 8 out of 10 for the chips. All in all a good 👍. Well done guys, roll on the next 100 years.

1st time, finally stopped in for a fish supper, fish very nice, and big, freshly cooked there and then, about 15-20 minute wait, but worth it. The amount of chips where fewer then from other chippy's, however the size of fish was more than enough, no chips wasted like normal. So we went back again and tried the sweet chilly haggis supper, now this you MUST try. It went down a treat. Not to spicy and it leaves you wanting another one. The staff where friendly and chatty, the place is clean too. They also do homemade ice cream which I would like try in the summer

As an Englishman passing through these parts, decided to partake in a Valentes fish supper. Portion sizes are generous, food was very tasty & competitively priced, the ice cream is to die for. Decent sized queue on arrival is always a good sign as well as the po po turning up for a feed, all staff complying with COVID PPE regs & sanitiser available. Got a quick chat with the top geezer Dario, nice chap. Will return if in the area again.
