The Fettykil Fox in Fife

We had an incredible mean at The Fettykil, all staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble, the food was incredible and the atmosphere was super warm and inviting! Thank you so much to the server who looked after us! We will be back again!! 😀

Tasteless food over priced service very fast but not impressed with the food

Arrived at 8.20pm on a Saturday evening to eat. We are told that they are no longer used. Really sad for a pub right next to a hotel. Especially on the site, if you want to book at 9.00 pm no more worries.

Food is delicious and the staff, especially the manager, are very helpful! Had an issue with Uber Eats and this restaurant took the time to help me resolve it when they technically didnt have to! Would definitely recommend! Thanks again x

Liked the atmosphere but disappointed with food. I ordered soup and creamy mushrooms with toast. Soup was straight out of a can of Heinz. The mushrooms were bland.

Visited the Fettykil Fox last night for a dinner with work friends. Lovely atmosphere and Sophie our host was very attentive and super friendly. Food was incredible as usual. Would definitely visit again.

Hi this is the third time my order has been wrong , I did not receive my mushy peas , my tartar sauce was put directly in my box & not put in a tub, I waited 1 hour &20 minutes for my food which was cold , I would appreciate a full refund please & I will not be ordering again from fettykill fox , appealing for paying nearly £35 I expect more for that kind of money

4 of us had lunch on Wednesday. Absolutely gorgeous food and great service from Jane & Eilidh who were first class and super friendly especially the lady that had the dicky leg was great to meet someone with a sense of humour and funny . Keep up the good work guys will definitely be back 👍.

You always get a warm welcome here. A large variety of lovely food to choose from. Staff are very friendly and professional. Using the Vintage Inns app allows a regular visitor to get a variety of benefits.

We’ve had lunch and a fair number of dinners here over the last month & we’re hooked. There’s a nice, relaxed, friendly atmosphere and the staff are great. Shout out to Anna & Eilidh who had the “fun” of looking after us on our last visit - they’re great at organising a leisurely pace for us & laugh at my jokes. We’ve been round the menu & enjoyed everything from bar nibbles to sea bass plus a pizza to go. All nicely presented. & tasty. We’ve moved nearby so we’ll be back

We love our visits on a Sunday. The roast is always superb. Our little pooch loves it too as he gets lots of cuddles and gets to say hello to lots of other doggies too. This is a massive plus for us as there are so many places that don't accept dogs. Sophie and her team are always so polite & friendly and go out their way to make sure everything is good and have a wee chat. It has become a regular of ours and we look forward to many more visits. Keep up the good work guys.

Had a meal there last night not knowing what to expect. Rib eye steak - perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection med rare. We also had the signature burger. Top notch. Will be back.

Me and my friend had a lovely catchup over lunch yesterday! Our server was Jane who was wonderful,funny and patient. She knew the menu very well and made our meal so much more enjoyable. The food was lovely and we wished we could have stayed longer. Definitly one of my favourite pubs thank you

Had a few plates of bar snacks in the Fettykil Fox on Wednesday 19 Feb 2025. The food and service and atmosphere were first class. I don't often give 5 stars all round when leaving a review. However, I make an exception here. I cannot fault anything about the Fettykil Fox. Everything was 100%. And Jane who was there for us and as our host, could not have been more friendly professional. Thank you Fettykil.

What a wonderful pub. Cozy, comfortable, great vibes and beautiful decorations. Friendly staff (shoutout to Jane for great service) Guinness was lovely and the paloma cocktail was absolutely fantastic!! For starters, we enjoyed fried camembert cheese and chorizo(really well made&juicy), for mains we had the signature burger which was super juicy and smokey, we also enjoyed turkey roast - the best turkey I've ever eaten! Super moist, tender and fall apart, all the traditional sides were amazing. Everything was seasoned really well! Mini puddings were outstanding, the bakewell tart was incredible - luscious custard!! And mini brownies - super rich, gooey inside and very cocoa driven. Absolutely worth visiting!!

Have recommended on numerous occasions, as was in before Sat and the change in presentation and food was accelerated beyond our expectations. So we rebooked to make sure it was not a one off... Individual items packed well but a hot food dish was placed on top of a cold dessert dish causing condensation inside so soggy tart case. The whole vegetable wellington was completely inedible it was brick hard couldn’t even cut into it.

We visited the Fettykill Fox as a party of 7 to celebrate my daughter’s 15th Birthday. We could not fault a thing, food was fab the service was exceptional and all the staff went above and beyond…. Even ensuring my dad was reunited with his hearing aid he had left behind 🙈 We all had a lovely night and my daughter really enjoyed her birthday dinner xx

Several years since we have eaten here and much improved. Staff were excellent. Food good, pricey but could not fault it. In terms of improvements the outside lighting is horrendous and it’s very difficult to see. From the road it looks as if the restaurant is closed, it is so dark.. Road not gritted and paths very slippery. Not sure I would pay full price as it is pricey but other than price no complaints.

Would highly recommend if your in area , lovely place and staff . Food was great as well

Couldn't find our booking. Choice of food pretty bad. Had already sold out of beef. The meal was cold .Had to ask waitress where our meal was. Really disappointed as have been before and it was good.

Booked online for a birthday meal and all went well, reservation confirmed. Phoned the next day to reserve a specific table which we had used before. The girl confirmed that table would be kept for us. I was also going to use a services discount card which I was told to show when paying. Arrived at the Fettykil Fox on the day to be told no table had been reserved for us. We ordered a few starters to be shared out between us all.The food arrived. Waited for cutlery, napkins and plates to arrive so we could eat. This didn't happen so trotted off the get them. Starter finished and waited for quite a while for the table to be cleared. Mains arrived and again waited for quite a while for the table to be cleared once we had finished. On paying the bill was told that a voucher had to be shown in conjunction with the discount card which was not what I was told previously. No discount applied. Having eaten here before I found the service to be well below the standard I had previously experienced and as a consequence Vintage Inns will not be on my places to eat at again,ever.

Restaurant was clean and well organised, the food was reasonably priced and delicious. The service was exemplary (the young girl who served us was a star. Unfortunately we didn’t get her name but please pass our thanks on to her if possible. She’s a credit to the restaurant).

Always disappointing when places don't stick to their advertised opening hours. The kitchen shut by half seven in the evening. Looked nice but can't forgive misleading opening information.

Very slow service. 1 hour from arriving until out 1st meal arrived. Then rest followed 5 minutes later. Restaurant was only around 40% full. We did book a table but it was claimed they had no record. Half of the items on the small menu where sold out and it would have been quicker to tell us what they actually had. Menu was rather expensive for quality and standard. One of our meals came with veg still in microwave packet. Restaurant and fixtures look worn in places. Chairs, toilets, outside space. To be fair the wait staff where doing their best but overall the experience was poor.

We visited last evening to celebrate my wife's 60th birthday. The team were brilliant, they worked well together, United and made us feel they had all based covered. Looking after us all evening nothing was too much trouble, they assisted with preping and presenting our birthday cake, and joined in singing Happy Birthday. Our meals were delicious, good choices throughout the menu. There was a good artist singing through the evening which added to the experience. We will definitely be back. We'll done team.😊

If you are in Glenrothes and staying in the hotel next door, there is no better alternative. The ambiance is lovely and the waitresses are really nice. The service was very fast. The food was not very appealing to me, but it was generally delicious. Especially the mushrooms with cream and garlic were very successful. The banana dessert also managed to surprise me.

Came here with two kids for an evening meal. Super slow service. Had to chase staff to order repeat drinks. 25 minutes for the “while you decide” olives to arrive. An hour to receive kids pizza. Their pizza itself pretty poor. Half burnt and not in the traditional pizza over “good way”. Just a brittle kid unfriendly mess of a thing. Other food wasn’t bad. Beers were not cold. Seems staff shortage ruined what would have been a nice evening. A shame!

Lovely real pub, with good beers and tasty food. Great atmosphere. Very friendly staff, and happy for dogs to come in.

There was nothing on the menu I wouldn't have ordered and the food more than lived up to what it promised. (Observation, I love carrots almost raw so they were great for me, but not everyone likes them so hard). However, as excellent as the food was, it was outshone by the excellent service from Eilidh and Anna. The meal was a birthday treat for my 94 year old Mother in Law who has dementia and they showed great patience with her along with banter with my wife and I. Keepers!

We came in for dinner and it was very good! Very fast service, the food was brilliant and the staff were very kind and polite. We were served by Soph and Jane and they were both lovely! Made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be back because of them :)
