The Fettykil Fox in Fife

We came in for dinner and it was very good! Very fast service, the food was brilliant and the staff were very kind and polite. We were served by Soph and Jane and they were both lovely! Made sure we had everything we needed. Will definitely be back because of them :)

Lovely atmosphere. Very friendly and efficient staff i.e. Jane and Anna. Food was excellent and came out within a reasonable time frame and the temperatures were great.

Came for Sunday lunch, we had 2 roast beef dinners and a trio of meats dinner. All came with large home made Yorkshire pudding and a good selection of perfectly cooked potatoes and vegetables. Good choice of puddings. We ordered allotment crumble and a lemon tart. Both were lovely. It was our first visit, but will definitely not be our last.

We looked for somewhere that was both child friendly as well as dog friendly and we weren’t disappointed. From the moment we arrived we were looked after by Eilidh and another lovely lady. The food was fantastic. We enjoyed a lovely warm, and comfy table. The food, surroundings, and service were all fantastic. We will highly recommend this place. First time visit. Cosy and friendly bar with lovely food and attentive staff. Just what was needed on a cold and wet evening.

We had a lovely experience dining here the staff were all pleasant and helpful and the food was served quickly and was thoroughly enjoyable we will definitely return when next in the area

Last minute decision for a roast dinner and this place didn't disappoint. Super friendly staff, we were served by Jane who was lovely and attentive. We will be back!

Booked a table here for my daughters birthday. We arrived on time, we were litterly ignored until my husband asked where we were to sit. We hadn't been before, and as I am disabled, standing for longer than a few minutes is extremely painful. We weren't told we had to order at the bar. The food was good, but we had to remind the serving staff that we ordered side. They came out about 5 mins later. I know it's a thankless job at times for staff in hospitality these days. But a smile costs nothing.

Loved the menu, a good range of choices and some interesting and unusual dishes such as the beetroot arancini. The food came quickly and was delicious, especially the homemade pizza. The pricing was good and the staff were lovely.

A wee bit disillusioned sadly. Thought we’d give the Fettykil Fox a try tonight but seemed understaffed. Waited inside the door on arrival to be acknowledged as we’d booked a table. One lass serving at the bar. Had to wait then ask if we needed to wait to be shown to a table. Eventually escorted to a table. Went up to the bar to order food and drinks. Same lass who showed us to our table came back to table and asked were we ready to order - said we’d done so already! Drinks came then food but we had to ask for cutlery. Had ordered 2 sides but they didn’t come with the mains either and we had to ask for them too. Maybe a bad night - whatever but first impressions are everything.

Love coming here for our Sunday Roast dinners. Always get fantastic service 5 star all the way. Very attentive and lovely personal touch.....that's why we keep coming back! Very impressed with venue, clean and cosy decor. Received warm welcome. Waitress Jane was excellent, she was attentive at the right times, quick to order drinks and food, delivery of drinks and food very prompt. Food nice and hot and very pleasant.

What a little gem of a place . Beautiful food , lovely atmosphere and lovely staff

Basing the review of two visits in as many weeks. The food on the first visit was OK, nothing more than that but we liked the cosy feel. Service was mixed, one very friendly member of staff, one who appeared to be a manager clearly not happy to be in the building but as we didn’t deal with her much, we left feeling ok about the place. Second visit we took our daughter, she liked the idea of a cosy country pub. We were met with another very friendly member of staff, but served by the same fairly miserable lady as the first time. We ordered drinks, with our daughter asking for milk. Upon receiving it, she spotted something in the cup… a muckle big dead spider floating in a cup that had seen better days. We tried to point out something was in the drink, were shooshed with a “one minute” hand waive by the miserable lass, who did take the cup and corpse away, without a single hint of embarrassment or apology…. full of the boke, we decided to leave and won’t visit again. We weren’t charged for the drinks, so there’s that…

Stayed round the corner from this busy pub. We have eaten here both nights and can recommend the lasagna and the pies .The food is really nice.The staff are friendly and accommodating as well.

Visited for our evening meal on a Saturday, nice and polite people,we got a table and enjoyed our food, the sea bass was absolutely delicious, and so were the smoked fishcakes, had a lovely pudding,then finished our drinks in the garden seeing as it was a nice, still, and warm sunny evening. Very enjoyable.

Very dissapointed in the food the starter was goid except for the oven baked mushrooms was clearly been in microwave the main meal i had the steak pie that was terrible only a few bits of meat and a little gravy the potatoes had been in microwave was so looking forward to tbe nice creamypotatoes and spring onion the veg had been in microwave the carrot was all wrinkled and hard my husband the fishcakes the potatoe wedges was not cooked and his veg was hard aswell realy dissapointed as we had dined their before and the food was delicous need to up your game the worst £60pound i have spent must say though the staff was realy freindly

We are regular customers to the actual restaurant, and have ordered for delivery before with no issues, however today, items were missing, rang the restaurant and they were extremely understanding , definitely wont put us off continuing to order in

Great food worth the little extra money

First time visiting here for a late lunch on Sunday with my husband. The outside of the restaurant could do with a repaint and touch up as it looks a little worn out, but nonetheless, this was still a good restaurant! The staff were welcoming and accommodating. The roast steak dinner that I ordered came out luke warm. However, I mentioned it to one of the waitresses, and she got it changed immediately, the second one being piping hot! The food was delicious! I had the honeycomb dome for dessert, and it was absolutely delicious!😍 I'd come back just for that! Overall, we were happy, and we will be visiting again soon.

Popped in for a quick bite to eat as I was staying in the hotel next door. Staff were pleasant and accommodating even though they were busy. The pub served basic pub food. Nothing fancy. I had the pizza which was a little sparse on toppings but hot enough and not too rubbery. The fact it seems popular with locals suggests it is doing the right things.

Great food and service my only disappointment was that only Doombar was available beer on draught tho there were larger and bottled beer available. The vegetarian Arancini starter was pure bliss truly wonderful one of the best veggie starter I have ever had. The pie of the day was very good, well filled with chicken triple cooked chips were spot on and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. The onion rings in beer batter again was done to perfect. The crumble and custard finished the meal off very well. Great meal

I have visited the fettykill fox for over 20 years on occasion and have never had a meal that didn't meet very high standards. A lovely place for a drink and food

We were having a short stay in glenrothes and read about this pub so we dined there twice in three days, lovely atmosphe and very friendly staff and the food was excellent, will recommend to friends and will be our first port of call the next time we visit the area.

Started off our holiday in Scotland with dinner at the “Fox”. Had a group of 26 which the staff easily handled. Can’t say enough about how efficient and friendly the staff was too! The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were generous. It was all topped off by the availability of some tasty libations at the bar! If you are in the area, you absolutely must dine here- it is a “hidden gem”!

Went on 5th May mums 80th about 11 of us . Starters were amazing all Sunday meat trio Sunday lunch ordered an 1 fish an chips. Disaster many were missing beef turkey or beef . Half the veg was rock hard ie carotts an parsnips staff tried to correct the missing meats .plates back an forth to kitchen to put missing meats on the plates. Food ended up luke warm an some cold. Didn't make a fuss an make a big complaint but very disappointed.Deserts were nice but main meals were dreadful. Think veg was rock hard on some plates as maybe ran out so possibly more had to be cooked at last minute hence hard. Veg suppose to be firm but not that hard. Funnier still my sisters plate went back to kitchen to add meat an came back minus her broccoli. Some family came from Yorkshire an were very disappointed

Came from north yorkshire for parents 80th birthday. There was 10 or 11 of us. Most of us ordered sunday roast trio. So pretty easy to do. Everything wasxwrong we didnt complain about half the stuff missing . Lukexwarm and one meal was cold. Roadt potatoes werntcroasted at all. Very dissappointed. One thing about north yorkshire our cooking is spot on

Our family of 30 is staying in Leslie for a big reunion. Our first night we dined at the Fettykil Fox and it was fantastic! Lovely atmosphere, excellent service, delicious meals. We were well taken care of!

Entered a virtually empty restaurant only to be told that we could be seated but our food order wouldn’t be taken for 20mins. No offer of drinks and felt so uneasy we left after 5mins. Weirdest restaurant experience ever!

Absolutely fantastic food, this is my 3rd time here. The rib eye steak is to die for, possibly the best steak I've ever had. Eilidh, Jane, Julia are absolutely stars, great conversation and an amazing sense of humour. I would recommend here to anybody. If you're looking for great food with a bit of banter and a good laugh this is the place to go. The holiday inn hotel we stay in is terrible but the food and staff make it all worth it. Thanks

Visited today for the first time. We were seated beside the back door (was a wee bit cold) portion sizes were fantastic ! If your ordering a pizza get it to share and get some sides was so good! Sad that the Brie bites weren’t in stock but that’s just part and parcel of a restaurant. Think the gas may have been low on the bar, my partner did suggest this as he tried 3 sips of 3 pints and all were flat so he just gave in and stuck to the 3rd one. Staff were so friendly cannot fault them. Google maps isn’t very clear on how to get into the restaurant itself just shows you it’s on the side of the roundabout so we did get a bit lost on the way there, so we could see it but had no idea how to get to it. All in all I’d recommend as the menu is very varied and the staff are super friendly great at recommending dishes too.
