I bought lunch for my wife and I, my wife got a cheeseburger and onion rings and I got a panini, and I have to say BEST PANINI EVER, I can't express how good the food is and as a chef with over 10 years experience, I have to admit they are my guilty pleasure. Sarah and her husband are so kind and friendly. I recommend them highly

We booked dinner for 2 through a phone call and collected from the West End Bar at the time we had specified (delivery is available). Every course was extremely ambitious, delicious and very well presented. There was a very small amount of cooking for us to do at home to complete the main course but this was well worth it. The ingredients are locally sources and the producers listed on the menu. We have tried a few similar take home menus in Edinburgh but this was superior. The menu changes each week making return visits very tempting.

My children bought a voucher as a Christmas gift for my wife and I. The value of the voucher was £180. The owner closed the restaurant in Early January. My daughter sought to have our monies returned but the owner, who is now head chef in Rusacks hotel, has so far not returned the £180

We had a really lovely meal—the food was exquisite, and the wine pairing stood out as one of the best we’ve ever experienced. While the wines themselves may not have been the most premium, the flavour combinations with each course were absolutely spot on, elevating the entire dining experience. That said, the overall experience didn’t quite match the quality of the food and drink and I’m not sure we’d rush back. The service, while polite and attentive, felt overly formal and lacked warmth, which made it a bit impersonal. At times, we felt rushed, with servers hovering or asking to clear plates too soon. A request to delay the cheese course was met with a surprisingly rigid response, leaving us a little taken aback. The atmosphere also felt underwhelming, with dated decor, bright lighting and a somewhat forlorn Christmas tree that didn’t add to the charm. Perhaps visiting during summer to take advantage of the beautiful views would enhance the experience, as dining on a dark winters evening maybe didn’t showcase the setting at its best. If you visit, I’d recommend booking an earlier sitting to avoid feeling hurried and to fully savour the truly excellent food and wine (earlier than 8pm!).

We both shared a Mitchellin experience at a very affordable price. Given we are from a commercial fishing background, I can honestly say that the scallops tonight, were without a doubt, the best we've had. Thank you for a truly wonderful culinary experience.

Popped in for a bacon roll and a coffee as my usual spot wasn't open. The coffee was really delicious- just a simple Americano and it was strong and not bitter. The bacon roll was a bit 'meh' - the soft white roll was chewy and stale , tasted like yesterday's. The staff were a bit rude and made faces about the customer in front of me, behind his back, after having what appeared to be a perfectly nice conversation with him. It was infantile and cheeky and spoke volumes about their customer service and what they really feel about customers. Summary - great coffee, stale roll, obnoxious staff. I normally go to the fisheries museum, where the service is polite, the coffee is good and it's better value.

Outstanding dinner in historic coaching inn. We had the fried brie and duck breast appetizers. I had the venison casserole which was one of the best dishes I've had in Scotland. If staying at the inn, make a reservation at the restaurant. Highly recommended.

We popped in for lunch after being given a recommendation and we were delighted with everything. From a warm welcome, great service, bustling atmosphere of happy groups of people through to a smashing lunch - we felt throughly spoilt throughout.

Called in at the 9 Shore St, Anstruther bakery shop of GH Barnett. Lots of calories to chose from. Having made my decision my wife noticed a slice of Tipsy cake. Childhood memories. Treat all those many years ago was Tipsy cake surrounded by marzipan. Never see it now. This Tipsy cake was made with icing but its the sponge you really want to taste. I have now decided Anstruther should be known for Tipsy cake rather than chips. I'll be back.
