All orders freshly made, so no soggy batter to worry about. Also, it was a nice evening, so no problem waiting in the queue, exposed to the weather. However, slightly funny, chemical smell from the fish and chips and a slightly strange taste.

Stopped sat this chippy whilst in Lundin Links. Fish and chips and a single smoked. Sausage. A fish the size of a whale it took two to get it in the box.Cooked to perfection in delicious crispy batter. and delicious chips. My side salad of the smoke sausage was a delicious accompaniment washed down with a 2021 claret of Diet Coke. Nice friendly man and girl on front of house duties and the sauce sommeliers recommendation of brown sauce to compliment the meal was just divine.Our table for two, namely the front of the VW Beetle overlooking the golf course provided the perfect Vista. you are passing and see this mobile culinary delight, hit the brakes you won’t be disappointed.

The holiday wouldn't be the same without a fish supper from Murray's van the best, and the patters great too

Have uses this a couple of times in Elie and St. Monans . Nothing special and as the orders are made for you at the time you have to wait , in my case in the rain, for some time. If they fitted an awning to the van it would help.

This van appears all over East Neuk on different days. I have always wanted to like it but the batter is too greasy and the fish is thin. It is quick and easy take away food. But not for me.

The chip van is in certain East Neuk towns on designated days. Details can be found on Facebook. Fish is fresh, haggis balls yummy and chips are amazing for being cooked in a van. My kids love this easy supper.

Great fish and chips. Really tasty and not greasy. Really busy so get down early when in town. We always pop along when we’re in Elie.

As the title says, no need to travel to the next village when I can get wonderful fish and chips which stops right in my door step. Always a friendly service with a smile!

Gorgeous food. Batter to die for! Chips are just the best! The only thing the let this chippy down is that tartare sauce is not always available!

My favourite fish suppers and they come to me. You don’t expect quality from one of these vans, however, this one is an exception. Great fish and chips every time. As they are cooked fresh you might have to wait a moment of two, however, all part of the experience as you meet folks from the village you have not seen in a while. I can highly recommend.

Stumbled on this wee gem as we were heading to the pub in St Monans. Super fresh, excellent quality fish & chips, freshly cooked to order, as it should be. Lovely people too. You don't normally get standards like this in your average chippy, never mind from a van. Superb.

Fish and chips were good. The fish was much the same as in Anstruther, but one point lost for no mushy peas (I know that it is a van, but how much space do they take), and another point lost for having to pay up front, wait for 25 minutes, and be inconvenienced. Other reviews have said that Murray's banter is good. No banter at all from the girl that served me. Not sure that the fish and chips were anything special compared with other options locally. Not worth the long wait (no option as I had to pay up front). Next time, I will make the journey to Anstruther for better service and mushy peas.

Murrays mobile Chippy is fantastic. Murray is a real character and lovely guy . He travels around the East Neuk so check online to find out when he is in your area . Everything is cooked fresh, so greatly food every time .

We are always so happy when our trips to fife coincide with Murrays Chip van being around. The fish is so fresh and the batter light and crispy. Went to Rick Steins in Cornwall once and it was not nearly as good as Murrays!

You won't ever taste a fresher, tastier fish and chips ! Best to access the internet to find out where and when Murrays van is to be first.

Tasty freshly cooked food, service with a big smile. Been a regular for years, never had a complaint. Murray is a great guy, he and his wife run a great local business. Monaco hasn't poached him away yet!

Murray's chippy is very good. I was amazed at how good it was. I love it and would definitely recommend if your in the area. The staff are very friendly and are always keen for a chat. The food is delicious and reasonably priced.

...even though we ordered/paid first, causing our fish/chips to sit and steam (and therefore soften) in the paper. So the chips were mushy and the battered fish had only a little crispiness left to it. The order was just for a fish whopper (double fish/chips order to be shared by 2 people). Don't know if a mistake had been made with our order, causing the chips to sit while both/one of the fish was replaced, or that the other people were regulars and so got to "jump" ahead and got our fish while we waited for another order to be cooked. Disappointed, especially since we made special plans to drive to this village to patronize Murray's Chippy based on the good reviews.

Have had a few takeaways from murrays in various locations and without a doubt this is better then any chippie in anstruther!! On a couple of occasions I have been unaware the chip van was going to be where I was visiting due to me living out with the area and was gutted I had eaten prior to then.Always served with a smile, the food is fresh and as stated better than any chippie along the coast. Make a point of finding out when and where murrays chippie is going to be based and I assure u that u will not be disappointed. Excellent service, taste and good portion size.

Murrays is often a highlight to many visitors trips to Elie.A unique experience. Murray always has smile and story to tell, and fish and chips are always great.Go on you know you want some...Plenty Salt and vinegar on mine please..

Excellent fish and chips, freshly prepared while you wait. Only drawback is that it is so popular you sometimes have to wait half an hour or so.

Great food for 7 people prepared quickly and with a smile. Very reasonable and chips were right up our street. Good old fashioned sea side dinner.

My favourite chippy . Consistently fresh and delicious and well worth standing waiting for. Crisp fish, well cooked chips - heaven
