Coast Coffee in Fife

Popped in for a bacon roll and a coffee as my usual spot wasn't open. The coffee was really delicious- just a simple Americano and it was strong and not bitter. The bacon roll was a bit 'meh' - the soft white roll was chewy and stale , tasted like yesterday's. The staff were a bit rude and made faces about the customer in front of me, behind his back, after having what appeared to be a perfectly nice conversation with him. It was infantile and cheeky and spoke volumes about their customer service and what they really feel about customers. Summary - great coffee, stale roll, obnoxious staff. I normally go to the fisheries museum, where the service is polite, the coffee is good and it's better value.

Disappointed. Was in need of a quick snack so thought I'd pop in for a bacon and egg butty, the staff was lovely enough but my butty was sub par. I paid £4.85 and only received 1 piece of bacon and a half cooked egg on my butty. Just not worth almost £5.

Having spent the day walking the Fife Coastal Path, a refreshing cup of tea and a nice slab of fresh cake at this place hit the spot. The lemon & blueberry cake worked surprisingly well and was lovely. And the view from my outside table in the sunshine over the harbour was most pleasant. Nice small place with friendly staff in this lovely little town.

We were Anstruther on a family trip and my wife suggested we get refreshments. I don't usually go to coffee shops by choice but if other people want to go I'll tag along. The staff were friendly and helpful and I enjoyed the mint tea that I had. My mum had tea and a scone and my wife had coffee and a scone. They enjoyed what they had too. It was an enjoyable visit.

Excellent Illy coffee - perfect temperature and lovely pieces. Good to see the staff taking pride in making good coffee. Lovely hospitable welcome.

My husband and I popped into Coast for a coffee and ended up having a cake as they looked so delicious and it didn’t disappoint! It was so good we went back in this morning for a breakfast roll and a coffee, oh yes and more cakes! and again it was great. The staff are so friendly there. I wish we stayed nearby so we could visit more often. Thank you!

Anstruther was very busy when we visited and all the cafes were busy. So glad we plumped for Coast Coffee. Lucky enough to get an outside table in the sun. It is a no frills cafe, you go to the counter and give your order, pay and then wait for it to be delivered. The waitress comes out and shouts your order and it is delivered to your table. We had Bacon, Brie and Cranberry panini and it was delicious served with crisps and salad. We also had two decaff americanos and the total bill was under £18. Great value and great food. You had the choice to add on a tip when you ordered but I declined but when we finished our meal I made a point of giving a tip by cash as it was such good value.

Great staff, great coffee, great food. You must try it. Sit inside or outside, it’s a great place to be.

Coast cafe has been running for quite a number of years and had had a revamp since I was last there. Always busy, which is of course a good sign for any cafe you are thinking to go to. Lovely friendly local staff and quick service for all the usual hot drinks, paninis etc.

Lovely Cafe positioned nicely on the shore front . Seating inside and out . Was lucky enough to visit on a sunny day so sat outside soaking up the sunshine while eating lovely freshly prepared food served up by friendly and helpful staff .

I found the staff unhelpful and unfriendly. It was obvious it was for locals only. I asked if there was a good time to visit and I was told NO. Needless to say we went elsewhere. We went to the Bank Hotel and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Will not ever go to Coast Coffee again.

After exploring the area, we visited Coast Coffee to recharge our energy levels. We were given a friendly welcome, and had a great coffee and cake each. Lovely little cafe with a cosy atmosphere. Nice staff and good service. Appreciated our dog being made welcome. Highly recommended- thanks again!

I went for breakfast as it's open from 0730. Very good coffee. I had a traditional sausage potato scone roll which was well made. Very friendly service

Welcoming cafe. Homemade Chicken and Sweetcorn soup superb. Homemade Portuguese Tart wow. Small cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Accessible toilet opposite. A must visit.

Had tea and homemade cake here and also breakfast sandwiches. Lovely friendly service and tasty food. Especially liked the coconut and raspberry slice.

Popped in for a couple of lattes on Monday afternoon. The women making the coffees needs to get some basic training. Half full jug of recently foamed milk was simply topped up with fresh milk. Jug not rinsed. Steam want not cleaned nor purged , portafilter coffee grinds tapped out, but filter not cleaned and more ground coffee put in. Can’t understand the rave reviews for coffee which must be down to luck rather than consistently knocking out great coffee on clean equipment.

On a mini-break to Pittenweem and we stopped off at Coast 2 days in a row. Lovely to sit outside and watch the world go by. There are very few cafes that get one shot lattes right imho but Coast are definitely one of them.

Lovely coffee and cake stop. Real coffee machine and lovely sweet treats including caramel slice and biscoff. Dog friendly!! Great service - would return. Seats inside for a wee rest.

Visited for lunch and coffee on a beautiful sunny day and Anstruther. Great selection of coffees and sandwiches. My daughter loved her cheese toastie. Always a firm favourite when we’re in the area.

We visited this coffee house on our last trip to Anstruther and were pleased to see that it remained nothing less than excellent. The view across the harbour is priceless. The same lady served us, as on the previous visit - she has been there 15 years. Friendly, polite, helpful - sells great coffee and (my wife tells me) superb cakes. Prices are very, very low, in comparison to other shops in the village. If you go to Anstruther - get a table and soak up the atmosphere.

Was here in February 2019, had the best chocolate cake in my life. Trying to have some sort of healthy life style now (quite a challenge when you are visiting friends in beautiful Anstruther). Went to Coast Coffee, intended to have a green tea, but... sun was shining, sky was blue, felt like summer in late autumn, so had a cappucino with soy milk and gluten free chocolate pastry... yummy!!! (And, as always here in Anstruther, superfriendly staff and lovely atmosphere). Dankjewel!

Today We had the most delicious bacon and Brie panini I would even say it was gourmet!The coffee is first class and the staff are a delight, nothing is too much bother. I can't wait to return.

Small Cafe right across from the Marina in Anstruther Scotland. Stopped there during an excursion for Coffee. Quick courteous service. Can sit inside or outside. Had hot chocolate and fruit cake which were excellent. My wife had a mocha. Would go there again

Visited last week. Coffees were excellent, friendly and swift service. My wife had one of their excellent cakes, following advice from a staff member. Superb location overlooking the picturesque harbour. If you visit Anstruther - sit in the sun, outside the cafe and soak up some atmosphere.

Visited anstruther one afternoon looking forward to returning to Coast Coffee for a Cappuccino. However, at 1625 I was refused coffee despite the shop closing at 1700. Blonde aggressive woman had shop closed packed up, obviously desperate to get home. Disappointing!

Nearly every day for two weeks, my husband got up early for the two block stroll to this coffee shop/cafe. He loved the warm welcome he got each day from the staff, and their coffee and breakfast treats were really good too. This place was definitely one of the things that made Anstruther so special for him. Thanks to everyone there for making visitors feel welcome!

Stopped at Coast Coffee recently on a tour. The folks were very kind and helpful. Great tea and scones. Also excellent homemade tablet!!

Went here for a coffee, very little space inside, 2or3 tables, no room to move, coffee was good, staff ok, more if a outdoor seating place, but too cold in January. Prices reasonable, snacks and cakes available.

Always a warm welcome, love the hot chocolate and the friendly staff. A wee gem with a big heart! Love sitting in the sunshine outside watching the world go by.

Lovely place for coffee & cake mid morning or afternoon. Very friendly and if the sun is out nice sheltered seat outside. Also recommend for breakfast rolls on a Saturday/Sunday morning. Mines a haggis & fried egg ;o)

A typical coffee shop. The servers were pleasant and coffee good. My husband had a lovely cake, I had a scone which was a bit on the stale side. Prices reasonable

Size doesn't matter and this is certainly true of Coast Coffee. A warm welcome is always guaranteed and it is somewhere I enjoy visiting :)

We sat outside this lovely harbourside coffee shop on February day in the sunshine.

We make a point of going to Coast everytime we are in the area which for one week a year means everyday!!! They have a variety of yummy cakes and scones. I can particularly recommend their festive coffees. There's always a doggy biscuit or two for our four legged friends. Thanks again.

Stayed in Anstruther for 3 nights had breakfast at the golf club 1st morning but needed somewhere that opened earlier and found coast coffee got a lovely welcome from the staff everything was "nae bother". Called in for coffee and breakfast the other day. Sat outside as we had our dog with us and there were blankets on the chairs to keep us warm. Had a lovely breakfast sandwich and hot drink and both ladies that looked after us were marvellous.

We had our early tea here one evening ! We dont like huge meals , we had panini and wraps with crisps and salad ! Loads of choice of fillings ! Freshly made , great service , we had a coffee too -then just enough room for a cake each ! The cakes all looked delicious so we were spoilt for choice ! Thank you for everything ! We wanted to call again but the cafe was closed by the time we got there !

The coffee and cakes were great, service friendly and the location really pleasant. As for the hot chocolate and all the trimmings it was well worth the value as measured by the contented silence as the cream, marshmallows and hot chocolate were consumed.

Superb panini’s !! I was at Jiggers Inn (st Andrew yesterday and paid £9 for a panini that was’nt half as good as the panini’s at coast (fro £3.40 odd). Lovely people servicing - we will be back !! 😛👍🏼

I always stop here for a coffee when I'm out and about on my motorbike. Coffee is good, staff are great and the views are superb.

We had an excellent breakfast at the cafe. Bacon and Lorne Sausage bread rolls. Choice on menu is really good. I liked the choice of green teas and coffee good too. They were efficient and friendly. Good spot on habour - tables outside for sitting with dogs.

Many folk gather there daily to meet and exchange news - a great place! We would recommend it to locals and tourists alike

We stopped in for a quick coffee before going on the Isle of May cruise. We had two cappuccinos and the kids had hot chocolate and a glass of milk. The coffee was delicious, the hot chocolate came with a tower of whipped cream and the milk was very fresh. The ladies who run the place are pleasant and helpful. Judging by the number of people eating and drinking there, the word has spread of the quality here.

Coast Coffee in Anstruther makes a fine cup of coffee not to mention a cracking bacon or egg roll. Situated facing onto the harbour it is perfectly suited for a rest (in more ways than one) break on the Fife Costal Path from Elise to Crail. The staff are wonderful, always with a smile and a friendly word. Popular with the locals from the town, you can always catch up with what is happening.

Nice place for a casual sandwich. Don’t expect anything special but great service and reasonable food. Faces the harbour!

Having walked round most of Fife, or so it felt. We called for a cuppa. The young waitress in training served us and had obviously been paying attention to her trainer as she made a smashing cappachino, with a smile that would melt icebergs. What a change from some of the sourpusses you get served by.

We always visit here when we come to Anstruther. The coffee is fab. Service friendly and our son loves the hot chocolate.

This little coffee shop is certainly popular and offers a decent range of cakes, toasties, panini etc to sit in or takeaway. Has some tables outside as well. Service is quick enough but it is a bit cramped inside and it all feels a bit rushed, I suppose that’s necessary due to the customer turnover of the place. Not so sure how pleasant it would be in poorer weather but on a nice day there are plenty of places outside to sit around and enjoy the takeaway. Reasonable prices.

What a great wee coffee shop. Right on the harbour in Anstruther. Newspapers and bacon rolls, a winner. Actually the bacon and egg rolls are to die for and come highly recommended! Very small, only three tables inside, but plenty of dog friendly seating outside now the weather is improving. Lots of home baking too for those who like a sweet treat. Great choice of bread, from the local bakers. They also do take away for us lovely boat people in the harbour!!

We have frequented and loved this cafe from when it first opened. Lovely people, with a very local base, being a traditional fishing family. Always good scran and highly recommended.

We’ve visited a few times now when doing parts of the Fife Coastal Path. The staff are always lovely and there is a range of lunches and cakes to suit all tastes. The cafe is very small but there is also outside seating. Would highly recommend if you’re in the area.

This café is little on the inside but big on delivering good coffee (Illy) and good cakes etc. There is limited seating inside which can encourage friendly chat as everyone shares the limited table space. There is more seating outside which lets you sit and watch life go by as long as the weather co-operates!
