The Rockies Restaurant in Fife

Great food with lots of different dishes to choose from. The Rockies is always reliable for consistency with the quality of food. Nice wee restaurant with a cosy atmosphere and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Service was quick but not rushed. Between us we had a good selection of dishes and all were delicious and reasonably priced.

Food was amazing. For starters we had goats cheese and the mussels. Both were absolutely delicious. For the main course we had haggis and leek beef olives and the burger. Again both were delicious. All food was presented beautifully. Great setting with lovely views. Staff were were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Will be back. I thoroughly recommend coming here to eat, you will not be disappointed.

In Anstruther while taking my daughter to uni. I felt a little unsure since it looks like a cafe for the golfers. We ended up staying and returning two days later to sample more delicious food. The menu is small but the food is so good!!! The best venison ever had, but the seabass was just as good. Amazing starters and dessert, too. St Andrews Ipa is a must!

Lovely staff, great view across the sea. Amazing food at great prices. Good choice of food and for my mum who is coeliac. Can park in the golf club car park. Best meal we had all holiday. Well recommended

Beautiful scene and delicious food

Sunday Carvery absolutely beautiful. Piping hot Plates, succulent meet, Beef Pork and Gammon. Perfectly cooked veg and all fresh best of all homemade roasties and Yorkshire pudding. Service great too.

We had high hopes for a pleasant evening at your establishment. However, despite numerous empty tables, we were informed there was "no room for us.” It's impressive how invisible we must have been! Thanks for the memorable (though not in a good way) experience.

Called on off chance and ate outside as had our dog with us. Scottish weather in June dictated that we had 3 seasons in 2 courses but was well worth it. Excellent value for the quality and presentation of food and lovely staff . Either dog free or warmer - we will be back thanks

We booked as had heard good reviews for this restaurant. It is a little walk out of Anstruther at the golf club but easily accessible. We were the only ones in the restaurant which was a bit strange on a friday evening but the staff were lovely and the service was excellent. The food was very good, especially the cod with scallops on the specials. The presentation of the food was top quality and would definitely recommend

Rockies is a hidden gem, tucked away from the main street of Anstruther, 10mins walk from the front. The views from the restaurant across to the harbour are lovely. The food is as good as anything you'll get in any fancy restaurant, service was friendly and efficient. We really enjoyed our meal and will recommend it to anyone visiting this part of Fife.

When we arrived it was obvious they had forgotten we had made a reservation - not a good first impression. The restaurant area was untidy and very unwelcoming. Limited menu and unfortunately when the food did arrive one of the meals was inedible and had to be returned. The other meal was cold so was eaten quickly. There was nothing else on the menu to replace the returned meal so we picked up a very delicious, freshly made fish supper on our way home. Very disappointed as this restaurant had come highly recommended

Today, 1 February, my husband and I visited Rockies for lunch. My husband is coeliac and chose broccoli and stilton soup (no GF Bread available ) and flat iron steak (£5 supplement) with chips , veg and GF sauce. It was a large portion and was delicious, although the chips looked reheated or overcooked, and very brown. I chose the specials, hot smoked salmon on cream cheese toast and venison fillet ( £5 supplement) with dauphinois potatoes and veg in a berry jus. Whilst both my choices were also tasty, I was very disappointed with the venison portion. There were only two thin slices which could not have weighed more than 2/3 ounces. It is worth noting that Rockies celebrated being the Business Awards winner for Fife in 2023! I did mention my disappointment to the waiter and the waiter agreed , saying he would speak to the chef. I think there could have been some recompense or reply from the chef . There was none.

This is the third year we have as a family had our Christmas dinner at the Rockies. Everytime it has been first class and this year was no different. From the quality of the food to the professional service with a smile from all the staff, it made everyones day so much more enjoyable. Thanks to all involved and the five star reviews are certainly well deserved

Having visited a couple of times for an evening meal, today was our first time for Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointed. Outstanding food combined with equally outstanding value, we were very impressed and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys fine food. Also, the service was top-drawer. All in all, faultless.

Had a ln xmas works night out here. 3 course meal. As quite a picky eater, I was worried, and was hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst. Can't explain how pleasantly surprised I was. Cleared my plate on ever single course: - Lentil soup and artisan bread. (I ordered for the bread, I'm not really a soup person, but had to stop myself from licking the bowl clean) -traditional turkey dinner (to die for) - ginger and sticky toffee pudding with ice cream (mouth is watering just thinking about it. Service and bar staff where fantastic. Couldn't recommend enough!

Absolutely fibulas meal at The Rockis restaurant Anstruther. Had the venison with haggis mash and mushroom truffles. Meal was top notch. Would not hesitate to reccommend. There was a £5.00 supplement for this choice on the specials board, but it was more than worth it. Staff attentive too and they went the extra mile to put us in for a booking early on as they were very busy later on. We had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Well done Rockies, not surprised you won awards.

After golfing planned to have a meal here but we had to give up after waiting for service for more than an hour. Food looked ok but we could not wait. Looks poorly organised . Wasted our day out ended up at the lock fish & chip shop.

This is a ‘must-visit’ restaurant when in Fife. It is no surprise that it has been awarded the Best Restaurant in Fife for 2023. The range of menu options and daily specials will satisfy everyone. We ate here with friends from the USA to celebrate a birthday. Our table was near the window with wonderful views over Anstruther harbour. Service was great and the food was superb. Recommend the venison and lamb dishes. We will definitely return.

My wife and myself alone with my son and his girlfriend ate here on Tuesday evening, all our orders we're lovely and three of us four had the 3 courses. Very nice indeed.

Excellent service, superb tasty food , very well cooked. Lovely views of the harbour next to the golf club. Scallops were lovely and well cooked . Lamb was wonderful and veg well cooked to compliment. This has to be one of the best restaurants in the village and at a very good price .

A gem in Anstruther. Easy to park. Fantastic views of Anstruther harbour/bay. The staff, especially Owen and Lesley were welcoming, efficient, and friendly and could not have done more to make our experience more enjoyable. The food was well presented and tasted delicious. I would highly recommend anyone visiting Anstruther to visit.

It's in the golf club - the golfers are in another bar. The food was good - standard pub fare and the service was pleasant. What stands out is the view of the sea and Anstruther. Get a table by the windows if you can

We had an absolutely delicious meal here in July, complete with gorgeous views of the sunset over Anstruther and the water. It looked very quiet and potentially closed from outside but don't let that put you off - we enjoyed scallops with black pudding and apple butter, hake with samphire, nduja, new potatoes and hollandaise, and a decadent, rich and moist sticky toffee pudding. The staff were lovely, the location close enough to Anstruther for an easy walk but far enough to have a quieter, more relaxed atmosphere, and the bill extremely reasonable for the quality. We will be back!

Stopped off for late lunch ,had not made a reservation but was made to feel very welcome. The setting could not be better, views of the sea and Anstruther. The young man who was working front of house was friendly helpful and courteous and had a lovely manner. The menu had an excellent and varied variety to suit all tastes. Highly recommended you visit, maybe best to book ahead as think I was very lucky to get a table.😋👍🏼

A little secret; shsh..... Don't tell everybody. What a gem. A 10 minute walk from the town centre. Beautifully cooked haddock and chips. I have known my wife for 46 years and this was the first time that she has eaten all the batter on a piece of fish. That should tell you everything. A most enjoyable experience.

Really enjoyed lunch and service was pleasant especially by the young lad 13 years old. However he took my jacket to hang it when we arrived and forgot to return on the way back so did I. That means we shell return 😅

Family dinner, we had haggis bon bons, leak and potato soup and pan fried salmon. All excellent. The leak and potato was a bit of the peppery side but otherwise nice. Definitely need to book as it's popular.

Wonderful food at The Rockies, Anstruther Golf Clubs restaurant open to all. The starter dish I had was a scallop, crisp pork belly with curried carrot puree and Mary had the salmon in a bouillabaise sauce as per the menu. Great to see a chef be more adventurous and come with novel and exciting dishes than the normal golf club fare. I know golfers like traditional nourishing grub after a round but we also like to try different dishes. Full marks to this chef. Superb food at very affordable prices.

Unfortunately The Rockies was shut, but we played the course (21 February), and the greens were slick, and the course well presented. A lot better than some I've played recently.

Food was good but where was the bacon on the clubsandwich

First visit last Saturday night, and it won't be our last!!!! We were blown away by the food and service. It was beyond delicious, the Chef is obviously very passionate as each dish we had surpassed the last. Book now!!!!!

Best fish in chips I’ve had since I’ve been in Scotland these past two weeks. And mom was able to get the gluten free fish and chips - equally delicious (And I wasn’t going to order the fish and chips because I was so over it, but very glad I did)!

Out on a date night with my lovely wife Jane. So we decided to eat at the Rockies. I had the calamari too start which was delicious cooked to perfection . Jane had a main of flatiron steak 🥩 with a pepper sauce delicious ( Had a wee bit 🙄). Me the usual fish and chips with their own batter awesome 😎. Yes I had a pudding strawberry cheese cake and ice cream Mmmmmm 😋. Absolutely value for money and well looked after by the table staff ❤️ Highly recommend 🙌🙌🙌

Never knew it was the golf club restaurant. Great place, chilled atmosphere, no hurry, pleasant staff and great food at a reasonable price. Will be my go-to place in the East Neuk 😀

Good food, nice wine and local beer. The view is superb and all this Served by nice people, what more can you want for a night out.

Lovely meal in the bar. Soup of the day - tomato, chicken liver pate with a special request of toast rather than oatcakes and haggis scotch egg.

Another good meal at this very affordable restaurant .The interior has been redesigned and is very stylish Good quality menu and plenty for the vegetarian in our party . Service was a bit slow between courses but the wait was worth it

Really disappointing. Food was just ok. The sea bass my wife had was without flavour as were the accompanying vegetables, and very greasy. The starter of haggis was a slice of haggis, about a tablespoon of turnip puree, and thin,hard bits of potato crisps. My lamb was good enough but I thought for £24.50 not good value at all. We had heard good things about the food but considering the price for 2 of us came to £58 I would not rush back,

Lovely restaurant with sea views looking out to Isle of May. Our waiter was very friendly and helpful and we enjoyed our meals. Great value also for a 2 or 3 course lunch.

Best 3 course meal I have had in long time.staff was great and fast service.

Not the cheapest dining option around but we had fabulous food - fish; but our party's vegetarian and vegan requirements were also catered for. Service was also professional, welcoming and courteous.

Called in on 5 August to see if we could have lunch on spec after doing costal walk, as we hadn't booked. Food places in St Monance and Pitenweem so disapointing. Warmly welcomed by busy staff and got a table for 2. Food (and beer) excellent and everything tasted so fresh. We had pre booked other places for dinner for that night and the following day so felt we had to honour these bookings or would have returned sooner. We will be back to Rockies, and we will book to avoid being disappointed.

Delicious freshly cooked food in a delightful location. Highly recommended, lovely friendly staff.

Service was terrible. We waited ages to be served, the staff ignored us and the wait between courses was disgraceful and by the time we ordered the sweet there was hardly anything to choose from. Maybe this was just an off day.

The food is so tasty and at a price you can't beat. Even with a £5 supplement for the steak it is still cheap.
