My Daughter decided to take me for a day out to this Antiques Centre and cafe, I thought it was off the beaten track as it seemed so far out , I did not think that it would be busy , wrong on a couple of levels the car park was fairly full , I thought the antiques part could not have been more wrong , the second was my daughter had booked a table I did not think it was necessary wrong again, at the time of our booking we where promptly seated , and served shortly after the young man William was extremely pleasant and efficient , our lunch came pretty quickly , it was spot on no mistakes it was warm and well presented , after about 5/10 minutes William came over and asked if everything was to our satisfaction , it was , that is a nice professional touch that others should take heed of it is important that the customer should feel happy, the cafe was spotless , the tables spotless as where the cutlery and plates both my daughter and I noted the quality of the napkins we both thought they where linen they where not but felt like it , so many times you are given something that resembles a tissue , I usually eat the same meal so I am aware of the prices charged , the quality of the food was first class so was the attention to detail so I did not mind paying a bit more for lunch , it was not cheap but given the quality of the service and food it was worth it, and my last assumption no need to book by the time we where leaving it was busy a good sign

Amazing wee cafe with lovely service. Great breakfast rolls and cakes. We came here 2 of the 3 days we were staying in Tobermory. My only wee suggestion would be to take payment for sit-in orders at the time of ordering rather than after people have ate. When we got there it was quite quiet but when we were leaving it was much busier and we had to queue for a long time just to pay. I understand when it’s busy this can happen but would be avoided with only having to queue once when ordering and pay at that point so you can just leave when done. ☺️

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Inver Restaurant, having learned about it from a Rick Stein TV programme. Rather than travel through Glasgow and up the A82, I came north via Stirling and Crianlarich, where the sunlit Autumn scenery was truly spectacular. The restaurant is perfectly positioned, with a fine view across Loch Fyne. I was reminded of the Three Chimneys restaurant on Skye, as here is another restaurant, bravely situated in a remote place, trusting that their skill, enthusiasm and focus on sustainability and local produce will attract knowing people from far and wide. I was staying overnight in one of the bothies right next to the restaurant; it was fitted out exactly as one might want, with plenty of room, a large and comfortable bed, a vinyl record player (!) and a big picture window looking out across the water to the remains of Castle Lachlan. The restaurant itself is an extended former crofter's cottage, simply but stylishly furnished and decorated. There is a relaxed atmosphere, and the staff make you feel completely at home. I had arranged to take the tasting menu with the wine flight. I could hardly wait for the kitchen doors to open and the next course to arrive! Each one took me on a wonderfully exciting journey through the local area. The wines, carefully chosen to match the food, were never the obvious choice, and each one brought on more feelings of discovery and pleasure. I asked the staff to forgive me, as I had been instructed to photograph every single thing in order satisfy enthusiastic demands from friends at home and abroad -which they are now sharing, enthusiastically. In summary, I would say it's definitely worth the time, the journey and the money to visit the Inver Restaurant. You will not be disappointed. In many ways, it's a living example of how the crofting principle can be applied to a contemporary business. For that initiative alone, it deserves our support. Secure in your wise decision, you can then sit back and admire the enterprise, originality and skills demonstrated in the imagination and preparation of the food on each plate.

Really enjoyed our meal at The Haven. Mussels were lovely, and fresh. Ox cheeks melted in your mouth. Served on mushrooms with rustic mash, parsnips and a lovely rich Herby jus. 👍

On a cold day we chose the restaurant to accommodate elderly diners thinking it would have a little more room than the bar - it did - we were the only people in it while a number of people seemed to come and go to the bar area where food is served. Our only real issue was that the large space was only just adequately heated although we were all less aware of this once the food arrived. There was a longish wait between ordering and serving but it was well worth it as the food was beautifully prepared, thoughtfully served and very good. The menu is quite extensive and interesting. Staff were pleasant but not over-fussy.

Great "homely" bar with good food, just wish that on the miserable evenings we had been down, the real fire had been lit.

We regularly have breaks in Cowal and have been going to the Oystercatcher for years as we love the location. Having just recently re-opened we decided to give it a try for dinner, and were not disappointed. Good selection of dishes with a focus on fish and local ingredients - we selected oysters and seafood tagliatelle which were both excellent. Reasonably priced given its location. Would thoroughly recommend and wish the new owners/managers every success.

I booked this for our Hogmanay family dinner for 9 people , the restaurant itself is nice and overlooks the lovely bay. However the food I would give no more than 4 out of 10. The starter of scallops was overcooked and the side of Kale was deep fried (it turned up late as they forgot to give us it with the scallops ) both not pleasant , the only stater that got any pass marks was the Cullen skink . Despite us preordering our meal they still got the starters mixed up and forgot to cook the requested fish cakes which meant that one person had to wait a further 15 minutes while the rest had finished their starter. The main courses were average and nothing special I would say bordering on disappointing . The best course on the evening was the desserts, everyone liked their desserts. Overall it did not put a damper on our night as it was Hogmanay and we still had time to go back to our lodge and cook or eat something better before the Midnight bell. Overall it was nice to get out and try a different restaurant , unfortunately this one did not supply what I would call good tasty food .

Campbells Coffee House and Eatery made for a lovely little pause in the day. Tucked into a charming space with warm tones and a friendly feel, it has that inviting atmosphere that makes you want to stay a while. I ordered a hot latte, and it hit the spot smooth, rich, and served at just the right temperature. The kind of coffee that wakes you up without being too bold or bitter. The presentation was simple but thoughtful, with a nice layer of foam and that comforting roasted aroma curling into the air. The café itself was clean and relaxed, with just the right amount of ambient hum from conversations and clinking cups. It feels like a local favorite the kind of place where you could bring your laptop, catch up with a friend, or just enjoy a quiet solo moment. I didn’t try the food this time, but the baked goods on display looked tempting, and the menu offered a solid range of lunch and breakfast options for next time. Service was friendly and quick, though seating was a bit limited during the mid-morning rush. If you’re popping in at peak hours, be prepared to hover for a spot.
