The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

I visit this fish and chip shop every time I’m in the area. I have never been let down the fish is fresh with a lovely crispy butter. Chips are as you would expect also in the big picture of things well priced.

Had to wait a while for food but when it came it was nice and hot, I got a basic hot dog but ordered a special so my family had nearly finished there's when mine came back but everything was very good. It's not cheap but good for a treat. Didn't try a pudding as portions were big so we were full.

Love to visit The White Horse cafe, their fish n chips are delicious crispy batter, good quantity fish, and their mushy peas are the best around. Great value for money, very pleasant, helpful staff. 👍

What a lovely place, We had a friendly warm welcome from all staff. Our accomodation consisted of a wonderful classic style room with a great homely feel. Bar, food, waiting staff and housekeeping all of the highest standard. It took as around 40 minutes to walk into Sowerby Bridge and £7 can ride home. A great 60th birthday celebration for me. We will return, it was great!

The food was over priced and over hyped and over rated. The meat was mediocre quality and everything was appallingly underseasoned and tasteless. Tbf the chef did cook meat perfectly to requirements re rare/medium etc and the veg was perfectly Al dente. The lavender gin cocktail was out of this world and the surroundings were beautiful and the staff were great. However, I would never eat here again as it's vastly over priced and wholly underwhelming. Also, the chips were so uniform and I suspect they were frozen chips. I don't come out to eat and pay such prices for frozen chips

Great fish and chips, fantastic service and staff

We stopped for an early evening dinner and we were impressed with the food and service. We both had starters - the panko fried black pudding and tempura fried squid. My wife thought the squid was slightly greasy but it looked and tasted good to me. We then had the lamb and pan fried sea trout which were delicious. Overall a very pleasant first visit and we look forward to returning. Thank you Sandpiper team.

Lovely countryside pub with great range of beers. GREAT FOOD. Reasonable price. Nice staff. NEW...... Monday, Wednesday and Friday 40% off food. Try the Cajun chicken flatbread. Absolutely beautiful xxx Lovely clean place, nice decor.

Nice place and good atmosphere, good selection of drinks and food plentiful and tasty as its help yourself, the only downfall and it's so annoying to watch is the guy carving the meat like its going out of fashion.... 3 slices of see through meat it's cut that thin he may as well cut it with a Stanley knife... Never seen such a tight portion of meat ever...

Never had a bad meal here, it's always been fabulous.
