Looks nice. However, asked for a veggie breakfast and was told that it is the same as the meat one, but with the meat taken out. This suggests to me that they are not keen on vegetarians, so left - there were 5 of us.

Amazing value for money . Huge cheese scone with three pieces of Wensleydale and chutney . Wife had a huge piece of fruit cake with same portion of Wensleydale cheese. Two flat white coffees. Dog friendly with fresh water bowls. All for £8.50 . My only criticism tongue in cheek is I told the staff they were too cheap and should double their prices .

We were struggling to choose but after selecting the jacket potato we were not disappointed!! Jacket, filling so plenty full , dressed salad and crisps. One had cheese and had tuna such a large portion of each and all for £5.00!!! Followed by Ruben and cherry sponge which was dressed up like masterchef desserts. All topped off with Earl Grey tea. Such a find with service so cheerful it was second to none 💋💋

Very disappointed Myself a friend and our 3 grandchildren visited the coffee shop today. We arrived at 11.50 to have lunch before we went to forbidden corner. Sorry, but we have to agree with others. Immediately we walked through the door we were met by a very rude, female member of staff who snapped at us that the cafe was full. Looking around the small dining area, it was clear that some guests were close to finishing; I said no problem, we were happy to wait outside. She said she couldn’t say when those eating would finish and we would either have to have a take away or come back another day. This rebuttal was very odd because it was only 9:30. When we got outside my husband said he wasn’t prepared to give our business where it clearly wasn’t wanted. We are in the area managing a sizeable holiday business for the season. Unfortunately we cannot risk our professional reputation by recommending this eatery to our guests

Walked in as a family of four and started to make our way to an empty table and told that table was for three only not four! We ended up walking back out absolutely shocked at their attitude. Table was clearly big enough for four and we have sat in many other similar sized establishments as a four on similar if not smaller tables. We went elsewhere where we were made to feel very welcome and ironically sat at a smaller table.

Called at Leyburn en route to the Forbidden Corner, we ere staying not far away and coincidentally parked right next to this place. We happily stopped in, few tables spare, all two seaters, with one couple having just walked in and sat at a table for 4, which had only two seats set. We asked for a table for three (2 adults and a 5 year old), and the lady behind the counter (owner?), just said they had nothing. The couple on the 4 said they would happily move to a two so we could have the bigger table, and the woman behind the counter just said no we’re not doing that… Now, don’t get me wrong, there might be a reason, health and safety, short of staff to manage covers, whatever, but at least be apologetic and pleasant, maybe offer a reason… the woman was downright rude, the couple who had offered their table up looked embarrassed, clearly didn’t want to stay but were committed… looked like nice food, clean tidy place, but we went to a competitor up the road and the family who ran it were amazing, glad i gave our money to a lovely family run place.

Excellent value for money and friendly staff but a small niggle re. Coffee. They don't serve a flat white as you would get in any other coffee shop and when I queried this they explained the coffee options and I had a lovely latte with 2 shots of espresso. There is a flat white on the menu but the description is not what I serve in the coffee shop where I work - where the menu was curated by a Cumbrian coffee company. I also saw the American described was actually a long black, but again a small niggle that only really matters to coffee snobs. Not an issue but just to be aware of when ordering. The panini was good, with a huge salad, some coleslaw and crisps which for £6.50 is incredible value for money and as such I will be going back to chambers, but in the knowledge that their coffee menu is a bit different. Didn't have a pudding as I was full but the scone looked lovely. In the end I was a bit peeved I didn't have any cash to tip as my total bill was £11 for a large coffee, panini and a can of nice pop - and I overheard another customer asking if they'd undercharged them too. Owner could definitely put prices up if they wanted to, the quality is great.

Never been in previously, but called in for a late lunch during a motorbike ride. Staff were clearly busy, but got me seated and took my order quickly. The coffee was ok, certainly not unpleasant, but not the strong coffee I like. The food, however, was amazing! I ordered the sausage and blue cheese baguette with chutney, and it was a triumph. Three sausages and lots of a very good creamy blue cheese...delicious. And the chutney was also delicious too. So, probably wouldn't go back for the coffee alone, but the food menu is certainly worth a visit. Well done to all at Chambers.

12.30 pm 16th August. Can’t say for certain about the fare on offer as I never got that far. The day was warm, the inside was busy so I asked if I could put up one of the folding tables already outside for us to sit at. (There we’re at least 2 small folding tables and a stack of chairs already outside). There were also another 3 tables already in use with plenty of room for at least three more. My request was denied despite my stating that I would put the table up and get the chairs. Not sure why this was so but I spent my £50 in the Bolton Arms instead so they lost out. Perhaps not the best business model!

We are visiting our friends in England, and they recommended Chambers for coffee and a scone. It was very good. The breakfast was a lot of food! The beans are tomato based, not too sweet, and very good on toast. The sausage and the bacon were delicious! We got a fruit scone which was raisin. It was very good too (and very large). Next time I want to try the cheese scone. 😋 Coffee was really good too! A nice stop before hiking around the dales!

Although this cafe sells good food and coffee, the service has deteriorated to the point where my cycling group will no longer use it. Today we were a group of four and were told to sit a two seperate tables for two. We were not allowed to bring two chairs up to create a table for four despite the cafe being virtually empty. If a cafe is unable to cope with a group of four then in my view it has lost the plot. We left before ordering.

The eating experience is quite nice but none of us during our last visit liked the salad dressing which was too vinegary and drowned the salad and overwhelmed any enjoyment of having a salad accompanying the food
