The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

Not often I give 5 stars, however TheTravellers Rest deserves it. The place has had a makeover and new chef installed. Great food and looking forward to the new menu Great views even on a wet AutuAutumn day. Lovely staff and good atmosphere

This establishment is a genuine public house, not many of those about these days, exemplifying the standards to which others should aspire. The culinary offerings are of the highest calibre, and the selection of ales and lagers is both extensive and impressive. The coffee is even incredible.I definitely recommend popping in at the very least!

Mattress and pillows were very thin, no towel in the bathroom, a hole in the ceiling was filled with a beer coaster. Our room had no tv and my friends tv was broken. Can hear music and shouting until 5am. Glad we only stayed one night.

Very disappointing , would not recommend, I ordered gammon , egg , chips and peas.the chips were burnt limp and greasy, the gammon didn’t look like it had seen a grill , egg was snotty and peas luke warm

Have been here a couple of times since the new owners took over and the food was really nice. One slight thing was the time it took for food to come out but it was worth the wait.

Wouldn’t recommend, my partner and someone else was sick off there beer.

I ordered a burger today from Oaklane after I ordered euros and there was hair in it they burger I ordered has hair in it this is not the first time I have ordered it and it has hair almost every time I order it has hair in it I would not get it from here today either but there was no other place I would not recommend getting food from here some times when my family orders it is fine but when ever I order it’s always my food it was on my chips

Lovely rustic pub with homely feel. Wish I'd known about it sooner.

Very cosy pub with great food, staff very friendly, dogs welcome throughout the entire pub not just in certain areas or outside. Short walk to a dog friendly beach.

The menu for this pub is huge and I was worried that quality wouldn't match up. However, we both had burgers which were really good. Freshly prepared and nice and meaty, no complaints whatsoever. Accompaniments were good quality and plentiful. Very impressed. I have taken one star off for the wine though - there was no price list so I just chose randomly but accidentally ended up with a medium and then small glass of wine which together cost £18, which seemed very steep to me. We'd visit again but this time I'd make sure I saw a price list before ordering! Service is friendly and it's always full so make sure you book a table.

Can I just say wow came in tonight with friends had a few drinks then was lucky to get a table I ordered the calzone Out of this work I am not joking hand made with what ever I wanted there’s so Italians that could learn from this will definitely be back

Went with my, extremely reluctant pre teen, daughter to get fitted for bras, as I’d spent a small fortune buying ones that didn't fit. The lady who fit her was fantastic! She tried her with many styles until she got the perfect size. Thank you!!

4 of us had a very pleasant lunch. Good beer and good food

Great place in a lovely location, building displaying localised history. Food is nice at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended and I will be visiting again.

Great traditional pub with good beer and excellent freshly made food - makes a refreshing change from all the 'plastic' chain pubs. Keep up the good work guys :)
