Went here for a veterans christmas party on Saturday driving down to the golf club was a bone shaker of a ride more pot holes than a public road, food wasn’t that impressive either now let me get to the main event of the evening, due to the weather a tree fell over blocking the veterans who had driven to the venue in the car park, RICHARD TOWNLEY one of the co owners couldn’t give a toss and was very very rude to the party organisers, and wasn’t bothered about the elderly veterans who were left there, the club turned off the heating and refused to make the veterans hot drinks or turn the heating back on to keep them warm, excuses used for no drinks were we have no kettle, we have no where to make them, we have no milk, after a few hours drinks were made and heating was eventually put back on. The tree blocking access was eventually moved at 4am and might I add NOT by the club. There was not one bit of help by them but by the 2 sons of the organiser and their friends who were out there in the wind, rain and cold from 10pm which broke the lads recovery truck from which he makes his living. If anyone is thinking of booking this venue I’d think again if there was an option of no stars then that’s what would have been given The owners/Directors should be thoroughly embarrassed and ashamed

The gravy was to die for never tasted gravy like it. For pudding i had home grown apple and bramble almond crumble with fresh custard the best ive tasted my wife had a mixed berry triffle truly delicious she said .The whole meal for two courses was only 13.50 each bargin worth every penny . You would easy pay alot more anywhere else at a good restaurant for the quality we had . Already booked to come again and weve booked for christmas too.

We went for Sunday lunch and found the service excellent. The food varied between good and OK, depending on what you ordered. I had the Yorkshire Pudding as a starter - two large puddings. Alas, they seemed to have been kept warm for some time, having lost their crispness and failing to yield to the blunt knife provided for starters. Gave up after eating half of one. For main courses, the fish pie and roast beef were appreciated but I chose the salmon which was OK but not as good as last time I had it there. All the puddings were good and, as a whole, the lunch represented good value for money. Now the place itself looks a little drab and needs a makeover. As for the approach road through the site, this can only be described as a disgrace. You think you've seen potholes? You should see these. Many thanks to the staff who do their very best to make your meal enjoyable. So sorry that you have the misfortune to have to run the gauntlet of the approach road every day.

Having had a lovely Xmas 2017 dinner there, what a DISAPPOINTMENT 2018 was, from the quantity to quality of the food, to the serving staff. Starter - adequate Lunch - 2 pieces of what I presume was turkey roll, rock hard Yorkshire puddings, burnt stuffing, burnt pigs in blankets, undercooked roast potatoes. Dessert - small portions of cheesecake, but plenty of apple crumble (presumably not many people had it!) Service was quick but not friendly. Table was set out nice. To rub salt in our wounds it was £5.00 per person extra!! Will not return.

The Sunday lunch is fantastic value, starter, main course and dessert followed by tea or coffee with mints. I supersize my main to get two meats. They bring vegetables and potatoes on metal trays so you can help yourself. There's a decent range of beer and the Cafferys is a smashing drink. It can get busy with various large groups celebrating birthdays etc. I've never had a bad meal it's well worth a visit but book before hand.

Just been on a presentation night at the grange everything about the place is bad. Decor very very dated and run down, even the flowers on the pictures were dead! The food well we had chip butties and beef burgers. The chips had more grease on than the pan itself and the burgers we cut in half and curly on the ends, utter trash. Had a lovely meal here and enjoyed a dance evening with a great atmosphere and lovely company. Our only gripe was the waiting time between course was a little too long. The staff were very good and welcoming and the food was hot. Catering for large numbers is never easy but this place coped well with the exception of timing. All in all a good night made better by the very competitively priced wine, try jack rabbit Pinot Grigio one of the best I've had and at twelve fifty a bottle great value

Just done Xmas meal Motown night . When we arrived we noticed the place was too cramped with tables n chairs , could not get round properly having to ask people to push there chairs in , could not get to bar properly as chairs were in way . The food was the best this year the beef was a bit chewy but edible the veg vhoice was great . They started to fetch our mains but they had not cleared our starters plates away had to get staff to clear it away quickly . The desserts looked nice but was warm and so was the cream they put on ...YUK also one our party had a big piece of plastic lid in there Xmas pudd. the site the singer's came on stage at 10pm and people were still being served mains it all looked panic as though they could not cope as this year they had crammed to many in . We had to ask em to turn the festive lights on .....really ......the group were rubbish they could not sing very well at all they did not sing 1 Xmas song they packed up at midnight . We were all sat waiting for Xmas songs from a dj or something and nothing and they were open til 1am ....so we left it was a disappointing Xmas party (not) evening we were a very big party and all said we won.t be back

Took the mother in law out for Sunday lunch at this venue today. There was a varied menu available and once we had ordered the starters took less than 15 minutes to appear. 2 of us had opted for the Fish goujons as starters, these were subject to a an additional fee of £1.50 but there were delicious and we both thought they were excellent value. Mains were served hot and with a good selection of vegetables and lovely hot gravy. A decent selection of desserts on the menu, Out of the 5 of us that went we didn't have one complaint. When we came across a voucher in the Rotherham Advertiser for a buy one meal get one half price at Grange Park Golf club , we thought we'd give it a go. After a beautiful drive up a very long path through the golf course we found the restaurant. The room is huge , more of a wedding venue and we were accompanied by other 4 other diners. We were very apprehensive vabout what was to follow. Wow! What a surprise , we both had sizzling geek from the specials menu accompanied by coriander rice. This was delicious. The Chef really believes in serving quality food cooked to order. Friendly and efficient staff, picturesque setting. We will definitely be back.

A group of 40 family and friends visited for Sunday lunch and I'm afraid to say the kitchen couldn't cope. We arrived at 1.30 and received our starters within 30 minutes. At 3pm I had to leave without having my main meal because I had a 4 hour drive ahead of me. I talked to my wife at 5pm and they were still having dessert. The serving staff ran about all afternoon and seemed upset by the slow service. Some of the choices we had ran out so people had to eat other items. We having been visiting The Grange for years and I've even worked behind the bar there, but I've never known it so bad. It spoilt a good mans 80th birthday celebrations.

Having read previous revues I was looking forward to eating here today(9/4/2017) for my sister-in-law's 70th birthday,to say I/we were disappointed is an understatement. We were a party of 19 booked in for 1.30pm but,due to someone who lives away being delayed, didn't order until 2.00pm. We all had to have something off the set meal because they weren't cooking anything off the specials board due to it being busy (it's restaurant what do they expect). Having said that the starters came pretty sharpish (not the greatest prawn cocktail but never mind). What happened next was pure farce. After about a hour waiting for our main meal someone, who I assumed was the manager, decided to tell us they hadn't any turkey or stuffing left so could anyone who'd chosen this choose something else (with an extra option of chicken, which we had to wait to be cooked).By the time our meals arrived and after waiting so long to say I/we were underwhelmed is an understatement. I ordered stuffed pork loin which, when it finally arrived, was just roast pork. When I questioned this the manager said they'd run out of stuffing and also not everyone likes stuffing but,as I pointed out,it was advertised as stuffed pork loin so the stuffing is in the middle otherwise say it's roast pork with stuffing. Then after another age of waiting my sister-in-law asked if we could have the desserts which then came in 30 seconds, so must have been sat in the kitchen.By the time we left it was 5.30ish.To put this into perspective a party of similar size, who arrived at the same time, had eaten and left by 4.00. Truly and utterly disappointed.

My sister also paid for an adult meal but upon service of her main meal was told it was a child's portion! We wouldn't hesitate in recommending this place for a wedding, or any sort of celebration. My husband and I had our wedding at Grange Park on the 21st August & our day could not have been better. In the run up, all the staff- in particular the AMAZING Christine (now a friend for life)- were so incredibly helpful, welcoming & efficient. She gave us her mobile number and email addresses, and would respond very promptly through either medium. From our very first appointment, the golf club were so open to all our ideas and helped us make our dreams a reality. We had visited a huge numbers of venues- stately homes, 5* hotels and other (much more expensive!) venues, but the attitude of Christine, the wedding planner, won us round! As you can see from the attached pictures, the marquee looked truly amazing. The food was excellent- we chose buffet "B" for our 120 guests and all complemented the food. Maybe a little more choice for vegetarians would've been welcome, but that was an oversight of ours, as options were offered by Christine. The DJ was fantastic, bar prices reasonable, views amazing, and the staff couldn't have done more for us.We visited the marquee on the day before our wedding to decorate and organise the flowers with a number of members of our family- shortly after we arrived, the chefs offered coffees, freshly made sandwiches, chips & iced water- what a lovely touch.Overall, we had a truly perfect day and our hearts go to the golf club- and the bloomin' wonderful Christine- for helping to make our day as special as it was & taking so much stress away from us.Thank you to everybody at the golf club!Much love,Jack & Scott

The Grange Golf Club is situated down a lane from the main road, ensuring it is well out of the way. First and foremost, this is the clubhouse of the golf course. The large room is fairly average and could do with a bit of a makeover. There is a bar for those wishing to have a drink with their meal, whilst the views out over the course are nice.So why would I wish to give this golf clubhouse, with an average decor, a good review.Put simply, we visited here last week and purchased two meals from their two for £10 range (they do others as well). I am so used to being disappointed when I eat out these days, with overpriced menus and worse still, small portions providing poor value. This however was great value. I ordered the Home made pie, and the quality was great, with large pieces of steak, which was even bettervalue when the price is taken into account. This was a good sized portion, the sides were also plentiful and the chef should be complimented. If you fancy a good value pub style meal in the Rotherham area, and don't mind being 'off the beaten track, then I would suggest that this is worth your time

Went for Friday as its fish and chip day. As sign outside, showed it was their special for the day. The chips and Mushy peas were average, hard to get wrong really. However the fish not so good. The batter was crispy on outside then wet and slimy inside, looked horrible. It also contained the thinnest piece of fish. It cost £10.30 clearly not worth it. However the service and drinks were good. But as we mainly went for food 2* rating for me. Should have been a sign when only a handful of people were in pub.

To the owner of the fairways, you do not deserve your staff. The fairways is MASSIVELY understaffed, the staff are rushing round like something demented, one person trying to do the work of 3. Sunday lunchtime - one bar staff serving drinks and doing orders for lunch. One young girl in the restaurant serving meals , clearing tables and wiping tables and setting them PLUS taking bookings. The chef, cooking meals, filling up the veg containers, serving lunch and carving meat. We have been going for Sunday lunch every week for over 2 years and as staff have left they have not been replaced. Something needs to be done before they start losing custom.
