This is my Local (after work and weekends) and Tuesday/Sunday will always be, but object to being served on Monday teatime by 14 years old children, not the way i was brought up - sorry but Honest opinion 🤷‍♂️

I think being served by someone with a sweet lolly stuck out of their mouth talking to you is the height of ignorance

Wake held there. Excellent choice of rolls, sandwiches etc. No rush to leave.

Food not an option. Very poor management, won’t be going back even though been going for years. Booked a private function, general customers came in and weren’t kept out completely ruined the party. Avoid.

Great pub, friendly people and staff, really enjoyed the stopover, very refreshing after bagging compost from Kays daughters stables. Proper pub atmosphere.

Great entertainment on my visit by the fantastic Donna Bell,. Pity most customers were more interested in watching football as TV's were on during her performance but those of us who went to see Donna enjoyed the afternoon.

Not a bad boozer. Right near truck stop parking and can order food to eat inside. Decent beer just no cask ales.

I visited here over Christmas... I was greeted by the landlady who is such a lovely woman would do anything to ensure my visit was a good one .. Lovely bar staff .. All of them made our night dancing behind bar obviously enjoying working and it sickens me that a previous review stated it is a drug den with lock ins etc which from my experience is horrible false allegations and could ruin someone's character because of someone's grievance with the place and the people in there " locals " don't like it ?? I personally spoke to a few of them and they absolutely adore the landlady and how much she has turned the pub around from the previous owners who were always drunk at bar shouting obsenitys to customers as I came in last year and hated it I now will defo be back well done

Went in for a drink ,no one in pub and disgusting how I was spoke to until I showed them my ID .Anyone would have thought I was a criminal threatened straight away that I would be literally thrown out.Don't deserve genuine people and I’m not been lowered to there standards scruffy looking individuals.Then as I was walking out someone shouted fu-k off.Just shows what clientele go in this dirty pub. I’ll spend my money somewhere else.I know who’s goes in under age watch this space

I've been coming in after work now and then and it's a great pub, welcoming, the locals are friendly and it's a nice tradition pub atmosphere, everyone is lovely, good place to go and have a pint and enjoy the pub, good traditional decor and it has a homely feeling, i like to just sit and listen to all the stories and the locals have, definitely visit this pub!

I wouldn’t go to this place if someone paid me the staff are fantastic always polite and never waiting long for a drink but what I think was the landlady as I couldn’t tell due to to her having what looked like a tracksuit on and a cap which we saw a notice saying no caps or hoodies allowed Friday Saturday nights was drunk sat at the end of bar she got really loud swearing I over heard her tell someone to F off I came with my husband on a Friday night to see what the karaoke was like as was told it was good there was not one person in the lady singing was brilliant may I add but I will not go in there again I was disgusted with what was coming out of the landlady mouth how she was speaking to customers and also staff was disgusting I asked 1 of the girls on the bar was she ok and she said just leave her she’s ok the landlord I think his name was Mark was lovely very polite was really welcoming towards us but me and my husband was horrified of how the lady was acting in front of customers and staff we had two drinks and left and will not go in there again

Me and my family went in one Friday night for a drink. After walking into the pub, we realized that the two owners were drunk and continued to drink until closing. Outside it says it serves food when it doesn’t. It’s £1.00 for a bag of crisps instead. The staff used to drink behind the bar except a young girl called Anna who refused to drink an alcoholic drink and had blackcurrant and water. She was the best server as she was polite and gave really good customer service, while the others asked “what do you want to drink”. I was at the bar and saw someone set a tab up on a piece of paper from the card machine and order double house gin and put it on the tab. At the end of the night, we watched her walk out and not pay for the tab. I asked the lady behind the bar at the end of the night why she didn’t pay it and they said because she works here. I asked for her name and they said Kat. Me and my wife went into the pub the day after and the lady who didn’t pay for her drink was working with Anna. We had a couple of drinks and was ready to go as it was closing time. I then saw kat pick up what looked like her tab and put it in the bin. I have been also told that people do drugs in the pub. I also know that the vodka and gin are from Iceland because that’s where I get mine from. Absolutely terrible, the owners can’t run a pub and the owner is two faced and slags everyone off.

Tracey & Mark are wonderful hosts. Fantastic bands playing, good friends & alcohol. What more could you want!

Brilliant place. Landlord & landlady are a great laugh. Atmosphere here with the regulars is great. Love this place.

Was in the Roland arms as it's near the truck stop I was staying really nice pub cheap and reasonably priced all though did not do food but met the owners Mark and Tracy very nice couple as I was leaving she gave me some milk as my truck fridge was broke and a takeaway plus a bag of ice I must admit I was shocked but back in the truck I tucked into the food Chinese and really nice chips she even put salt and vinegar on them so I was really happy will be back in there again to buy them a pint or two cheers guys delboytrucker

New landlord/landlady. Trying really hard to please customers in a clean and tidy pub. Well kept beers, but not much choice of craft beers. Good selection of other products. As an older couple, the only problem we had was unruly kids running about the pub, but only until 8pm (ish). Entertainment is reasonable with quizzes, Friday disco or occasional tribute acts. Access is good for all and limited parking is free with additional nearby street parking.

After work for a quick pint or Thursday an sunday quiz great couple running it the real ale is amazing

Been today for Sunday lunch told to sit and wait as it was busy fair enough but realised other people were ordering after us we have always ordered with barman then told to see waitress then told they could do a dinner with most of veg missing or a sandwich rubbish not enough staff felt like barman took the p no respect not only us unsatisfied been using this pub over 40 years don't go for meal lousy to young staff give it a miss

Needed somewhere nearby on our journey north and just went for the nearest available pub. Wasn't expecting much from recent reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. The pub looked cosy inside, service was friendly and prices very reasonable. Our lunches were fresh, plentiful and tasty. Couple of decent beers too. No complaints!

Limited choice of draft beers, TV's could be bigger. But nice traditional pub with stage for entertainment.

And having fitted the flooring in there i have seen where they keep the food and prep it and is why i asked for a bottle of water because I would let my dog drink from or eat from anything that come out of that kitchen!.!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent Sunday carvery good selection of guest ales. quiz night's . weekend's sometimes has a bouncy castle for the kids can't fault it😀😀😀😀😀

We visited the previous month and there were a few of us and it was nice food for the money. However when we visited this time, the food wasn't as good. Myself and my friend ordered the steak and both were extremely salty and we didn't enjoy it at all. Maybe a one off but be prepared that they don't always have the children's meals available, for example the children wanted pizza but they'd not got any left. Previously they wanted chicken nuggets but ended up with fish fingers instead.

I think the new menu has improved the visits now. We often visit and chill and a game of pool. Its ok for the kids but no play area which is hard. Love how the dogs are welcome also.

This pub has much improved. The recent renovations make it a warm and friendly pub. Pity the toilets aren't up to scratch like the rest of the areas. They do a very enjoyable lager and blackcurrant and a decent pint of beer. The food is value for money and I can highly recommend the all day breakfast.

Under New Management. Totally refurbished., as off Aug 2015. Lots of different lagers, beers and 5 different cask ales. Quiz night every Thursday and Sunday. 1st Saturday of every month, live tribute acts. Karaoke every Friday. Food served 12-8 everyday. Carvery on Sundays 12-5

We went as a group of 20 people it was a private function . After waiting an hour for my order i was told they had an alternate menu so I said ok. The food was cold the roast potatoes were hard,then came the sweet I ordered apple pie with ice cream it came with custerd I had it and was glad to get out

The Roland arms is a nice little local pub. It has recently been done up and looks really modern now. The prices are reasonable and they do a quiz on Thursdays and Sundays with a free buffet and pub games.

Comimos allí noche pasada, mi hamburguesa de pollo era bastante agradable, pero servido con unas patatas fritas en el plato y no hay finura. Mi hermana y a mi pareja había pescado y patatas fritas (dos por £8,49 ). Las porciones pequeñas, y el pescado era más frito. No esperes demasiado aquí, no hay lujos! El personal es muy agradable y el pub parece 100 %mejor que antes.

A must to visit turky ham an pork were on the menu.I had the ham yorkshire puddings were just like granny used to make.

Lovely food and beers. Just recently been refurbished. Great owners and a lovely new beer garden. Close to us too which is a bonus.

Visited with family who live in the area for a Sunday carvery. Staff polite and friendly and a clean pub area. Carvery itself wasn't packed with flavour in my opinion, there were 4 meats out but you can only choose 2 to have on your plate, only veg on offer was carrots, garden peas and cabbage. Ok overall but wouldn't necessarily come back or recommend.

We have been to The Roland Arms Sunday Carvery on quite a few occasions and the food is always excellent. A choice of 4 meats all the trimmings and plenty of choice of vegetables all piping hot good slkection of sauces etc. one of the best carveries in the area and pleasant staff as well.

We had the breakfast menu and got a free suete excellent value cooked to perfection.Well worth a visit

We called here on a Tuesday just before 2pm we had tried several pubs in the area but yellow lion no chef, don't do food on Tuesday & we finish serving at 2pm were the reply on the others they usually stop at 2pm but made us some lovely food I had scampi, chips, peas& salad my husband had the mix grill the meat was cooked to perfection and my son had chilli, chips & garlic bread all of us emptied our plates & £30 with 3 drinks we would go back again and it was clean & tidy a gem of a place
