A Salt and Battery Fish & Chips in North Lincolnshire

Beautiful freshly cooked fish and chips...friendly staff...good price..highly recommended..clean and tidy and is open regularly

Popped in for chips and decided to get a sausage in batter as well. I asked if they had one and the lady said yes. I couldn’t see the sausage when I ordered. Anyway... upon opening the bag I was greeted with this disgusting excuse of a sausage in batter. Straight into the bin. The chips were ok, but very greasy. Again they ended up in the bin too after a few. The lady was polite, but was having to deal with a moaning partner out back, shouting at her as she was trying to serve me. I felt sorry for the lady.

I’m sad to say our local chip shop is terrible, mushy peas like water fish was horrible because of the batter chips where ok , I stopped going a while ago to use brigg chip shops and there all brilliant but I was running late and thought I’d try a salt and battery but it’s still rubbish never again

Everything cooked to order, very friendly owners. Good choice of children's meals. Choice of home made pies

A brilliant chip shop. We go often. The couple that own it are really funny. You get a comedy sketch with every bag of chips.

Nothing wrong with the place...good food cooked at cheap prices and banter from the owners...some people need to get over themselves me thinks...

Go every Saturday dinner with my daughter. Great fish & chips, great atmosphere, great couple who run it...just go & you’ll see what I mean :)

Man In Charge Swears In Front Of Customers, In Conversation, In Front Of Children, He Is Very Sweaty And Looks Drunk..., The Lady Looks Like She Does Not Want To Be There, She Has No Life In Her Or Her Voice When Speaking To Customers, Food Is Never Ready Cooked Even At Opening Times, Sausages Under Cooked, Very Scruffy And Dated Inside.

We’re Regular visitors here and have to say Superb fish and chip. Staff friendly and prices very reasonable. Would highly recommend.

The food was ok but I was made to feel like been there was a major inconvenience for the unfriendly woman who served me,I almost apologized on my way out.wont be going again

Great fish and chips at a great price , staff are so helpful , was just closed when we arrived but reopened to serve us on Xmas eve or we would have gone hungry , so thank you so much .

Very tasty fish and chips at a very substantial price too. They also offer many deals such as 'a tea time special' and also lots of kids meals,very nice food at just the right price.

Fish and chips have improved in the last 6 months to be honest they were awful when this owner took over but as I said they are ok now

Always get great fresh cooked fish and chips here. I have also had the homemade pie before which is also excellent. Great value and a good local Chippy!

A friendly fish and chip shop where you are always greeted as you go in. Oh, and yes, the fish and chips are excellent and always cooked fresh to your order, so you may have to wait a few minutes, but well worth it.

Lovely Fish and chips, always cooked fresh and good price. We have been many times and have never been disappointed , my mum and dad even make a special trip here rather than eat from their own village chippy!

Tried here once fish was quite nice but can'cook chips to save their lives ,pale.and floppy but gave it a second shot big mistake the fish was absolutely awful we live a bit far to go back that night with it and gave it the cat ,even she wouldn't eat it. When i next went into barnetby i waited until the shop was empty so as not to make a fuss and told the owner , first he denied serving us then he asked what i wanted to do about it then he called his wife who was very curt so i just left vowing never to go back funny thing is quite a few people i'spoken to since haven't a good word about this chipshop saying they can be rude and the chips are awful .You've been warned

The lady behind the counter couldnt care a less abour customer service very very rude. Just moved into the village wont be going again.fish and chip special had about 10 chips on the plate and had to buy peas seperate so wasnt really special. Waste of money !

The fish is always a good size and large portion of chips. Always taste really good and eat there often and never experienced greasy food yet. The homemade pies are really tasty and goes well with their gravy and chips. Yum yum!

A great village chip shop baffled by the negative reviews you get what you pay for and its a great option when you dont want to cook

Have for a long time been using this fish shop when in the area, but would not recomend it now. Although the fish was cooked to order it was not particularly pleasant so can conclude the cooking fat was to blame as the chips also had this flavour.

Need I say more worst fish and chips iv ever attempted to eat . The fish low quality wet and soggy batter tasted of pure grease and the chips were just not nice . I would suggest a fryer clean and fresh oil !

Not bad price the fish was a little to mushy but maybe my personal taste. Handy for the surrounding area due to lack of takeaways. Good parking straight outside.
