Lovely day out with my little lad and wife, the underground tour is very well planned out, tour guide ade was friendly, humorous and very knowledgeable! Shame the cafe was closed with no explanation as to why and the toilet could have been cleaner, great outdoor play area and nice little shop! pit ponies were also friendly to stroke. Overall would definitely recommend for a blast to the past!

Light batter, fresh fish, a good portion of chips and peas accompanied by white bread butter and tea. A really good meal.

Only got 1 star cos there's no 0 rating. Advertised gluten free vegetarian sausage sarnie. On receiving the bread was fossilised. Not just stale it was harder than toast and uneatable.took it back to change and was told all the gluten free is the same! Ate some of the sausages cos I was starving, they were total cheap cr@p as well. Park fabulous, cafe I'll never use it again

Didn’t get chance to even eat or drink here as staff were very unwelcoming, on arrival was told that my children pram wouldn’t fit, and practically hushed out the door, not very accessible or “family friendly” as stated

I often meet with friends at The Barn Kitchen for lunch/afternoon tea and it has always been lovely. However, I met with a friend there for a late lunch yesterday and had booked the table for 3pm. I knew they were open until 4.30pm so we assumed we had plenty of time to eat our main course and then have a hot drink and some cake afterwards. We ate our main course and having waited for quite a while for someone to clear our plates and to ask if we wanted anything else, at 10 past 4 we eventually asked one of the staff if we could order something else. He said he would ask and came back and said they had stopped serving and the kitchen was closed. We asked if we could order some cake and a hot drink, even if it was to take outside. He went back and a blonde lady came over and quite abruptly told us they stopped serving food at 3.45 and asked what we wanted. When we told her what our order would have been she said they had run out so we couldn't have had it anyway so we left and got a drink and some cake from the main shop. None of that would have been a problem if the person who took our order had warned us we wouldn't be able to order anything else after 3.45pm as we would have ordered it all at the same time ... or even if the staff had just been a little more polite about the fact the kitchen was closed ... or perhaps just don't accept bookings for 3pm as it gives customers the impression they have longer than they think!

We have visited twice but unfortunately both times the food took a long time to come . I don’t understand when the restaurant is quiet why it takes 45minutes for 2 kids meals and a burger to come. The food is of good value especially the carvery.

Another great visit to the Red Kite, for us it’s the best part of a two hour round trip but thankfully we’ve been enough times to know it’s reliably good. The food is great, the atmosphere is warm and comfortable and the service is always spot on, this time we were served by Emily who was simply brilliant. We’ll be back again very soon.

Ordered a mega mixed grill. Steak was under cooked, gammon, chicken and chips were cold. Chips were over cooked. Spoke to the girl behind the bar just ignored me when I spoke to her about the issue. Had to speak to a different gentleman to resolve the issue. Waited 30 minutes for the mixed grill even tho there was only another table of 6 in before me

Definitely gone downhill since my last visit. Menu doesn't seem to have as much on it as before and it gets a little boring having the same limited menu if you stay for 2 or 3 nights like I did. That said, the onion bhaji starter is really good and so are the hoisin duck pancakes - pity they couldn't make them into main courses ! The pasta dish I had (linguini I think) was very sloppy and tasteless and the hunter's chicken the next night was also poor and bland. Those 2 meals kind of sum up what to expect here unfortunately. Not cheap and not that good.
