The best restaurants in Wakefield Rural Wakefield Yorkshire and The Humber

Visited here with family off the back of a recommendation and we wasn’t disappointed. The food here is fabulous & I would say the best Italian I’ve visited in the UK. The prices are very good too with plenty of choices. Well worth a visit you’ll not regret it.

Dear all, Might be long here and it will worth your time. I’m please you are reading my review which is needed to know before you make your decision to visit. I am saying everything in my honest directly from my heart to Hidden. Over months I have driven passing this site in my Lorry and seeing something fancy inside I wonder what would it be. My mind keeps telling myself that I MUST visit as soon as possible. Yesterday I put my money where my mouth is, eventually, I went to Hidden Cafe after touring in Coal Mine Museum nearby as a solo person like a Lone Wolf. In that night of being as customer. Environment inside is so beautiful making my mind going to Shangri La. Whether it is an cafe or an mini restaurant or an bar or all of them! Doesn’t really matter because this urban place is an low key place in all set reasons of visiting. Even pop in for a ten minute drink with your friend. I had an well cooked golden pizza with three buns of garlic bread and an posh red wine in addition to my meal. An ace to the young marvellous chef called Milly. Both of the waitress are lovely and welcoming. Sharing stories and our conversations went up to joy and equally. Just like playing tennis. We speak a few lines and wait for the reply or respond instead of holding the ball for too long. We talked all sort of topics. Music, career, families, prologue, hobbies, future and more. Taking yard by yard. Life goes on. Another to mention, their music in the background is smooth, correct volume and matching to the room of relaxing. Somebody could say, ‘To the stars’. Food is delicious quick service and it’s a good place to be clean aswell

Came while the underground tour wasn't available due to renovation/improvements. However the behind the scenes tour and the time tunnel were excellent. Guides for both were experienced miners and had good stories and knowledge to impart. I would definitely recommend the behind the scenes tour for their input

Gorgeous traditional English fish and chips. The service is really friendly and warm, and portion sizes are great.

First time eating here, I went with my mum & sister Mum is in a wheelchair and they couldn’t help her any more than they did !! Their customer service is amazing, their service is fantastic and their food is gorgeous (good size portions and tasty) We will definitely be going again Highly recommend a visit

Nice little pub and not over priced

What can I say, absolutely amazing. Linda is an artist. Our wedding cake was the most amazing cake I could have dreamed of. Our guests wouldn't stop taking photographs of it and it was divine. Each layer perfect. I sent Linda a photo for inspiration, the cake of dreams... the one she made was 100 times better, more beautiful and tasted amazing. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Professional and incredibly talented. Thank you for literally the icing on my perfect day

Massively over priced!! £11 for a vegetarian breakfast and I had to pay for toast separately at £1.50 a slice. I was informed once the breakfast arrived that the toast wasn’t vegetarian, this should have been stated when I ordered a veggie breakfast or on the menu.. I don’t know how they get away with charging what they do. Would never in my whole entire life go back here. What a rip off

Lively setup for a vegan tasting menu at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Food was delicious as were the cocktails. Service initially was a little slow as we had to go up to the kitchen to get the attention to place drinks orders however it improved throughout the evening. Would highly recommend.

Chicken parmo ! Banging ! Really enjoyed 10/10 will definitley be going back for another ! Lots of happy customers that day

Under cooked bacon missing egg cheap coffee and brown sauce won't be going again thats for sure and to top it off was waiting 25 mins for undercooked rubbish
