The best restaurants in Wakefield Rural Wakefield Yorkshire and The Humber

Visited here with family off the back of a recommendation and we wasn’t disappointed. The food here is fabulous & I would say the best Italian I’ve visited in the UK. The prices are very good too with plenty of choices. Well worth a visit you’ll not regret it.

Dear all, Might be long here and it will worth your time. I’m please you are reading my review which is needed to know before you make your decision to visit. I am saying everything in my honest directly from my heart to Hidden. Over months I have driven passing this site in my Lorry and seeing something fancy inside I wonder what would it be. My mind keeps telling myself that I MUST visit as soon as possible. Yesterday I put my money where my mouth is, eventually, I went to Hidden Cafe after touring in Coal Mine Museum nearby as a solo person like a Lone Wolf. In that night of being as customer. Environment inside is so beautiful making my mind going to Shangri La. Whether it is an cafe or an mini restaurant or an bar or all of them! Doesn’t really matter because this urban place is an low key place in all set reasons of visiting. Even pop in for a ten minute drink with your friend. I had an well cooked golden pizza with three buns of garlic bread and an posh red wine in addition to my meal. An ace to the young marvellous chef called Milly. Both of the waitress are lovely and welcoming. Sharing stories and our conversations went up to joy and equally. Just like playing tennis. We speak a few lines and wait for the reply or respond instead of holding the ball for too long. We talked all sort of topics. Music, career, families, prologue, hobbies, future and more. Taking yard by yard. Life goes on. Another to mention, their music in the background is smooth, correct volume and matching to the room of relaxing. Somebody could say, ‘To the stars’. Great comfort food and reasonably priced compared to other takeaways.

A little gem hidden away. Great food but some items are expensive.

Fab place that highlights our rich cultural history with coal mining. Seeing Santa underground is a different experience and very enjoyable. Highly recommend a visit.

Really good fish and chips from the grumpy fryer! no grumpy service however, everyone is very pleasant and helpful. good value and worth a visit.

My chicken balti was amongst the finest curries I ever eaten. Rich, deep flavourful sauce, big chunks of quality chickenbreast. A lovely naan bread to boot, perfect size for one. The onion bhaji starter was spot on too. Great service.

What can I say, absolutely amazing. Linda is an artist. Our wedding cake was the most amazing cake I could have dreamed of. Our guests wouldn't stop taking photographs of it and it was divine. Each layer perfect. I sent Linda a photo for inspiration, the cake of dreams... the one she made was 100 times better, more beautiful and tasted amazing. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. Professional and incredibly talented. Thank you for literally the icing on my perfect day

Good place to go during a walk at the sculpture park. However, food wasn't as good as I expected. Really didn't like the taste of the pickled brussel sprouts on the festive menu today.

Chicken parmo ! Banging ! Really enjoyed 10/10 will definitley be going back for another ! Lots of happy customers that day

I just love the domino's here...The pizza is so so fresh. Its lovely and the staff are really great as well
