Massively over priced!! £11 for a vegetarian breakfast and I had to pay for toast separately at £1.50 a slice. I was informed once the breakfast arrived that the toast wasn’t vegetarian, this should have been stated when I ordered a veggie breakfast or on the menu.. I don’t know how they get away with charging what they do. Would never in my whole entire life go back here. What a rip off

We recently enjoyed an afternoon tea experience for a group of six on a lovely Sunday afternoon, and overall, it was a delightful outing. The staff were incredibly accommodating, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our visit. The food was excellent, with a great variety of options that catered to different tastes. However, the open-faced sandwiches, while delicious, were a bit fiddly to eat. Traditional finger sandwiches might have been a more practical choice, as they’re easier to handle and less messy. That said, the sandwich selection itself was fantastic, offering a range of flavors that everyone in our group appreciated. The cakes and accompanying desserts were equally enjoyable, with a nice mix of textures and flavors. Each item was well-presented and tasted fresh, making them a highlight of the experience. My only critique would be the size of the beverages included in the afternoon tea set. The tea and coffee portions felt a bit small, and by the time we finished them, we were left wanting another hot drink to pair with the cakes and desserts. A slightly larger serving or the option for a refill would have been ideal. As for the ambiance, the interior is bright, airy, and surprisingly spacious, which was a pleasant surprise given how compact the place appears from the outside. There’s plenty of seating, and the layout allows for a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely afternoon tea. The natural light and tasteful decor added to the overall charm of the setting. In summary, it was a wonderful experience with great food, friendly service, and a lovely atmosphere. A few small tweaks, like offering classic finger sandwiches and larger beverage portions, could elevate the experience even further. Nonetheless, we left feeling satisfied and would happily return for another visit!

Very poor service. The tea was lukewarm after waiting 10 minutes for it to arrive. I asked for the vanilla slice and cream slice to be cut into two with a sharp knife and was told to do it myself. When I commented the knives would be blunt they agreed to cut them into two. They arrrived not cut so I asked the girl to cut them into two and she came back with them uncut and said I had to use one of the cutlery knives. I then asked another girl and after a lot of objecting she had them cut into two. This was terrible service. After all, I paid £14.80 for two cold teas and a vanilla slice and cream slice. Won’t be going there again!

This is such a turnaround from our last visit! Unfortunately we were too late for breakfast... but the rest of the menu offering is really limited. We ended up with jacket potatoes which cost £9.80. This might have been forgivable if the rest of what was on the plate has been edible.... but the purple slop which we assumed was coleslaw and the beautiful fresh salad drowned in vinegar definitely was not edible. We won't be going back! ----------------------------------------------------------------- We really enjoyed our quick visit for breakfast. We were able to pick and mix off the "extras" list - we both got egg and hash brown on one slice of toast and an extra slice of toast with preserve, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was really nice to get what we wanted with very pleasant and efficient service in a light airy space. Would fully recommend.

What a lovely little cafe. Part of a fantastic garden centre which is a bonus. Food was lovely, service probably the fastest I've ever had. Would highly recommend.

Another trip to the Seed Room. The menu is decent but hasn't changed for a long time but there are always specials on offer. The place was busy but we were found a table straight away. Our choice of food came in reasonable time. The food was good as always. Interaction with staff was good. A decent visit.

Nice place for families, we had the Christmas lunch which was quick and efficiently served - I enjoyed the sea break main. Service was friendly and warm.

The breakfast that is served here is top quality and is always consistent. I try to visit at least once a month, as I really enjoy a good breakfast. I’m not quite sure what the chef does to lift each and every ingredient, but they are all just better than a standard breakfast. For me the star today was the tomato, and I’m not really a tomato fan. I can’t speak highly enough of the quality of what is served, unfortunately it has now ruined breakfasts everywhere else, as none of them are as good. This results in a 40min drive just to have a full English breakfast. This place is top quality

This place is a gem,lucky to have on my doorstep, just been again for Christmas lunch with party of friends and family, the food is highly recommended, piping hot,good value,all the staff are very hard working,as well as Christmas lunches,they were slso doing afternoon teas,and normal menu,coping very well,as they were very busy,

The extension makes it look huge and is better for it. The prices are very reasonable and the food is beautiful. They have a varied selection of items for glutenfree customers like myself.

Delicious, high quality food in a beautiful setting. (I got the steak sandwich, which was HUGE and so tasty!) All the staff are super friendly, helpful and accomodating. Always such a pleasure to visit!

Just had afternoon tea with my wife and daughter. Delicious food, impeccable service by team of customer-focused staff and great surrounding. Absolutely first-class.

Just had a sausage sandwich on a brown bap. Ate the bap and left the sausage as it was very poor quality. My friend had a bacon sandwich and did the same by leaving the bacon. Not up to usual standard.

A lovely garden centre cafe with a good selection of food and drink to suit all tastes and appetites. The food is cooked fresh to order and is always good quality. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Everything is kept clean and spotless, you can tell that they take great pride in their business. Well done Seed Room.

Beautiful yet casual dining experience! We ordered 3 specials; 2 open steak sandwiches and 1 beetroot risotto. Cooked/seasoned/garnished perfectly. Lovely cafe with an abundance of natural light, accompanied by tentative staff and airy space. £50 for 3 meals, 3 drinks and an additional side. Highly recommend. Gluten free options available also*

I first visited the Seed Room over 2 years ago, while visiting family. I have been back numerous times since. Driving 45mins each way might seem excessive for a cooked breakfast, but the quality of the food and how it is cooked is excellent. I have tried other places like Copley’s, Rob Royds all of which are a similar price point, but the quality at the Seed Room just shines through. The service at the Seed Room is always excellent and customers are really well taken care of. The only down side for me are the acoustics which can exacerbate the noise.

Went for a breakfast with my daughter, we had a nice relaxing time, the breakfast was really nice and freshly cooked in a nice clean friendly atmosphere.

Hands down the best cafe in the area. Food and service is always excellent, menu prices are very reasonable.

Delicious scones get there by 10am they're still warm from the oven. Perfect place for morning coffee.

The food was delicious and service quick. It was quieter than usual but we went for breakfast this time. The cakes look scrumptious but we didn’t have any.

The food was average for this type of eatery, we just had a couple of the salads. Chicken in the Caesar salad was a large portion but a little tough. Quite noisy so difficult to hear if you are there with elderly people. Clean, staff very pleasant and helpful. I'd probably go again.

Great place to have a bite to eat. On the side of the garden centre. Tables and chairs are quite angular and upright and not exactly comfortable, but the food on offer is great yet quite expensive.

Hi we went as a family on Saturday, we have been going for 3 years now and some of the staff know us , this particular time we got a normal breakfast , hash browns and sausages and asked for a veggie breakfast , the veggie brekkie included 2 eggs , I explained we are on a veggie thing for 9 days and could they swap the 2 eggs for a bit of spinach (which they have in stock ) the lovely girl at till said she would ask the chef who abruptly said no , I asked him as well he said. No way spinach is far more expensive than eggs , at the point I gave up , obviously that’s not greatest customer service for a loyal customer, but ok , what I’m upset about is I’ve sent 2 email to managers over last 10 days , and zero courtesy of a reply whether it’s I’m sorry but we really couldn’t do anything or sorry that you felt you had a bad experience, but nothing back from them at all .. very disappointing it seems that despite the wonderful staff , the owners or management or so arrogant they completely ignore correspondence.. disappointed ☹️

I think it’s our 4th visit to the seed room and seems to get better each time, only problem we had was choosing what to have as everything looked good. Staff friendly and helpful and place spotlessly clean

Excellent food & service in a location you would never expect. Visited on Mothering Sunday so booked well in advance. We have been once before so knew it was a good choice. The menu selection is different from the usual multi national suppliers, being fresh & inovative and at an acceptable price. The quality of the food is excellent and resonably priced. The staff are efficient and freindly. I can't recommend it enough!

I like to come to Seeds when I get the opportunity, the staff are great and the food is always good. It can get busy so it's a good idea to book a table, especially if you are having afternoon tea. Afternoon tea is definitely worth having... delicious.

Just had a delicious, delightful lunch at this gem of a place. My wife and I enjoyed our meals ordered from their special menu. The cakes on display are also tempting. A clean, bright cafe with views of farm land overlooking Horbury.

We called in for a sandwich, but due to the huge size of the place and lack of any kind of soft furnishings to deaden the sound we found it to be incredibly noisy. Tables are very close together and we were surprised at the plainness of the surroundings. Just stark white with nothing to give it any kind of character. We ordered two panini which were quite tasty but incredibly hard, so we didn’t really enjoy them. My main gripe however was with the abrupt and unsmiling young woman who took our order. Honestly she looked as if she just didn’t want to be there. We always visit the garden centre which is great but wouldn’t go back to the cafe

Good food, service very good. The portions were generous. I personally thought the uncomfortable chairs were a bit too close together. When the person behind me move, their chair hit mine. Not their fault. They were just too close together.

My fiance works here and took me here for my birthday. Visited England for a week. First time having an Afternoon Tea and it was amazing. The staff wanted to meet me while I visited. They was all lovely. The best thing I ate was the salmon sandwich that was part of the Afternoon tea. Probably the best thing I ever had. Their cream cheese and chives pulled it off greatly. The other sandwiches was amazing and the soup was great. I loved trying scones with cream and jam for the first time. The food is great. I think the tea cups and plates are adorable. I had a great time! Thank you! I also love the natural lighting and atmosphere of the place. Thank you so much!

Upon entering, as a walk-in party of 11, the staff were prompt in offering us the options for seating arrangements to suit our needs best. The offers of drinks, and the speed of receiving them was swift, especially considering the beginning of Dinner service and the relatively busy service. The whole table enjoyed their meal, with almost the entire table opting to choose something different. My Open Steak Sandwich was presented beautifully. The steak cooked perfectly, and balanced well by the Button Mushrooms and Caramelised Red Onion; this is a testament to the skill of the chef, and not a single person at our table had anything but positive feedback for their meal. Strongly recommend this eatery if you enjoy good food and excellent service. If you are passing through, especially given its convenience to a beautiful Garden Centre, stop in for a bite.

First visit. What a wonderful place to eat! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit today. Ourselves and our friends all had panini, salad and coleslaw. It was delicious! The wedges are amazing, especially with the sour cream and chive on the side, nice touch 👌. I love the fact you put the wedges and chips in the little plant pots, that was great. You have some wonderful staff that look very smartly dressed and work very fast and efficient. The mature lady with brown hair, sorry I didn’t catch her name, she was very smiley and pleasant and seems like a lovely member of staff to have. 5* for food and service. If you are ever in the area you won’t be sorry. I do wish the specials board was a little bit more noticeable or in view when entering. We were trying to work out what a dish that looked really popular as it was flying out. Then we realised when people kept standing near our table that the specials board was behind us and that a lot of people were having the open steak sandwich. It looked amazing!! We would have gone for that if we’d known. We really enjoyed what we had anyway, so please don’t think that was a complaint as it wasn’t. Thank you for a lovely experience.

A clean environment, tasty breakfast and friendly staff. A shame a piece of toast isn’t included, especially with the double breakfast, but still worth five stars. Coffee pretty good too.

My wife and I have used the Seed Room for quite a while now since it first opened, it has gone from strength to strength over the years, improving and expanding into what is now a great cafe bistro. All the staff are friendly and efficient serving simply the best freshly prepared food every time we visit. Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous new year to you all.

The Seed Room would stand alone as a cafe/restaurant. It is a fantastic addition to the garden centre. There is a great selection of well cooked dishes, using top quality ingredients. The staff are friendly and professional. Prices are reasonable and cakes etc are to due for.

Fabulous early Christmas dinner today at the Seed Room. Never disappoints. Great friendly service and excellent coffee too. Thoroughly recommended! I think some of the people leaving negative reviews must either be very very hard to please or confused as to where they have visited.

3 Course Christmas Dinner; fabulous. Excellent value for money and brilliant staff. Good choice of meals and delightful desserts. Staff great too; well done to all involved and to Rachel for managing the event like clockwork.

Great place to visit both the seed room and the garden centre. (Horticentre). Friendly staff, but the seed room can get busy. Plenty of parking. And easy access.

Excellent food great service spotless clean

The food here is always really good and the staff are lovely. The toilets are the stinkiest toilets in the land, a bit grubby looking as well. Some attention should really be paid to this as it’s letting the place down. Everything else is great.

We've been here many times and the story is always the same: good cooking, especially of the daily specials, and friendly, welcoming service. Today's specials including excellent pie and peas, and a smoked ham hock salad with pork crackling, black pudding and a beautifully dressed salad. By any standards this is good restaurant-style food – but at affordable prices. Not surprisingly, the airy, open room was packed today, but the dishes arrived promptly. Cracking spot.

I joined a party for a golden wedding for 30 people. We all had afternoon tea. The service was amazing and the food outstanding. Everyone had a lovely time in a lovely place. Thankyou so much. You will be highly recommended.
