Loved the whole experience the food was brilliant the place was fantastic and the staff so helpful and efficient.our 1st visit but will definitely return.

What a wonderful hidden gem. The food is out of this world. Reasonable priced, too, which is an added bonus. We had our gender reveal here today they catered for 20 guests. All the food orders were correct. They did separate bills to save time at the end. The staff was brilliant and helped us dress the tables ready for our guests. To which every guest commented how wonderful the place and food were. The only downfall is that the car park is really small, but cars can be parked close by . Highly recommend.

Had a another great night with my friend, staff fantastic, ambience lovely and food is to die for. Lamb kofta to start as a sharer, chicken Katsu Curry for my friend and I had Pancetta wrapped Cod with new potatoes and a tomato 🍅 sauce, all beautiful. Lovely rose wine too, thanks to everyone at Twisted Tree, see you again soon.

Another fantastic meal this evening for my birthday great food great service, chilled out atmosphere.

Me and my friend enjoyed a lovely dinner here, the only downside was sat in the conservatory and people kept leaving the door open which was cold. Apart from that the food and staff were amazing. I will be returning

Excellent New Years Eve Murder Mystery party. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the effort that went into the murder mystery was just outstanding! They had catered for everyone food wise and game wise. Quizzes on the table that lead to clues for those less inclined to mingle and fantastic scripts for those that really wanted to get involved. The bonus rounds were hilarious. Massive thanks and congratulations to the event organisers. It was brilliant, I’d highly recommend and hope to be back next year to improve my mystery solving skills!

Lovely little restaurant in Castleford. Delicious menu. Only slight gripe is the cakes are kept in the fridge so the sponge and fillings were a bit solid!

New Year’s Eve 80s themed murder mystery party was fantastic. The food was delicious, the staff were welcoming and friendly and the service was excellent. The murder mystery was genius, big thanks to Wayne and Diane. We had a great time, chatting with others, solving clues, listening to great music and completing challenges- as we tried to work out whodunnit. We didn’t work it out… but the evening was brilliant. Would def recommend.

I highly recommend the New Year's Eve party! We had a fantastic time at the 80s murder mystery evening - what a great way to see in the new year! The 3 course meal was delicious, the service was great, so much effort had gone into creating the murder mystery evening so that everyone could be involved as much or as little as they wanted, and we had a very warm welcome. Had an evening meal here in the small room with the bar. Heard the belly pork was really good so both ordered that. Quite disappointed as it was overcooked. Also only bottled beer available. Staff pleasant and efficient. Nice atmosphere.

Delicious food! Great menu but also great food on specials board to try! I had wild boar burger and it was delicious! Staff are lovely and friendly and very accommodating for babies & prams, will help you warm bottles and baby changing available! Can't wait to return!

We had the afternoon tea and it was amazing. You get so much and it isn’t boring like most afternoon teas you get fresh fish goujons and sliced sausage roles

We had a wake at the Twisted Tree, so not the happiest of situations, but the staff were so friendly, and buffet delicious. Thank you for helping turning a sad occasion into a happy one.

Not a place to visit if you suffer from arthritis or fibromyalgia. We had a very painful lunch because we were frozen in the porch area. The door constantly opening and shutting. The food is delicious and deserves five stars and the staff very friendly and hard working but it’s so uncomfortable and cold and it’s not winter yet!

I don’t often comment but when amazing it needs saying! After being seated very close to others (I felt I was encroaching) I asked if there was anywhere else. We were asked where we’d like to be and we were took to the Den, which was a lovely area. The two staff members were great with this and very attentive! Promptly we had drinks and food order taken by Debbie. She was just fab with everyone she came across, from start to finish, which these days can be rare! Our foods and drinks came quick. Food was the best I’d ever had there, (Ive been about ten times now) Hubby was more than happy with steak, my Cajun chicken with rice and flatbread was so nice but sadly couldn’t eat all mine. Big well done to all, we’ll be back soon!

my wife and I went for our anniversary meal as a recommendation from a friend. Have to say were delighted with the food, the atmosphere and the service. We were sat at a corner table, and for starters, I had the antipasti and my wife the bruschetta, both were fast and delicious. for the main meal I had the Chicken burger and my wife had the fillet rump and again, both were delicious. reasonable prices and again, great service from a great waitress. Would highly recommend this place to anyone for lovely food and ambience

So lovely! I have coeliac and the staff were so accommodating and friendly, especially Claire and Tia, but truly everyone was kind and lovely. Would absolutely recommend Castleford! Oh and the caramel latte was to die for 😋

Brilliant place, great staff and amazing food, lovely find

We chose this place as we were in the area, and it had received 4.7 out of 5* from 197 reviews. We were seated and given menus, no drinks order taken. Someone set about lighting the burners on tables and didn't light ours, even though we were the only people in the place. Our orders were taken, including the drinks. I ordered a rosé wine and lemonade, and my partner a coke. My drink came in separate glasses? I ordered chicken supreme in fricassee, wild mushroom, onion, and bacon sauce, with broccoli and new potatoes. I asked to substitute the potatoes for chunky chips. That was allowed. When my meal arrived, I was confused. There was no broccoli or mushrooms, and it was in a watery fluid that was flooded with silverskin onions. The chunky chips seemed deep fried until no potato existed. Instead, the chips. We got the attention of the waitress, she apologised and said she'd speak to the chef, of which reported back, sorry he forgot the broccoli and mushrooms and the cream. The lady offered to put it right, but that would mean waiting again for the meal to be recooked and my partner would be finished. I declined the new meal and ate what I was given. It tasted of nothing. But the waitress removed my meal from the bill. So her efforts warranted the 3* rating. Other than that, I think the service was terrible. The place was empty, and the chef failed to make 2 meals. There were 3 staff and we had to sit and wait a while to have our order taken and even our drinks order, because they were standing chatting. My partners cajun chicken dish was bland.

I suggest booking as it’s really popular with the locals. Food was very nice and so was the drinks and was not over priced. Would return 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Fabulous place for Breakfast, top quality Bacon Sausage and golden yolk eggs. Staff are very friendly can't do enough for you. The twisted tree is a very nice place to sit and relax and get looked after. Highly recommend.

Food excellent. Staff bright & cheerful. You could easily drive past this place & think "No, not for me". Don't be deceived by the less than exciting facade. Inside is an amazingly varied menu, the 4 dishes we had were all very well presented & verrrrrrry tasty. Will definitely be back next I'm in that neck of the woods.

Came here for brunch with a friend. Quaint little spot located in Wakefield. We ordered goat cheese starters with homemade sandwiches and chunky chips. Food was deliciously and good size portions. Sandwiches could be served on a selection of breads. We sat in the outside annex which was super lovely. What topped the experience for me was the incredible service from a lovely lady called Debbie. Nothing was too much trouble. She definitely made our experience - she is a credit to the team.

AVOID - they treat their staff appallingly. We witnessed the manager here belittling and bullying a young member of staff, who was actually going above and beyond whilst dealing with a customer complaint (about food). The manager was condescending and aggressive towards her and we couldn't believe that this was all in front of the customers here. The food is mediocre at best and the atmosphere here is not welcoming at all. Definitely avoid this place. Note to the owners - you need to train your "manager" or even better, get rid! Disgraceful behaviour.

Twisted Vintage came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. Despite the bustling crowd, the staff were warm and welcoming, creating a pleasant start to the day. The menu offers a great variety of dishes, with some evening options that sounded so tempting I’ll definitely be back. For breakfast, I enjoyed a delicious croque monsieur made with quality bread, savory ham, and a rich cheese sauce. The coffee was equally satisfying, complementing the lively, bustling atmosphere. This spot is a must-visit, earning every bit of its five-star rating.

Aug 24. Still a great place to eat at. There's the new outdoor area and the garden room too now. Food is excellent and service is still with a smile. June 22. Fabulous cafe/restaurant in Castleford/ whitwood. Very tastefully done out. Fantastically friendly staff, super food and presentation. Great outside space too with heaters. I had organised a meal for 17 people aged from 3 years to 80 years. The communication from the staff was brilliant from the beginning. On the evening nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the menu options are fab. Need to note that the gluten free menu has so many options which you don't often see. I would certainly hold a celebration meal here again. I visited here after my graduation a few weeks ago and just realised I forgot to write a review for this lovely place! We booked ahead and they were very accommodating to us as we didn’t know if we wanted afternoon tea or not and also wasn’t sure what time we’d arrive. When we did arrive, they had even put a congratulations sign on the table with a glass of bubbly for me too 🥹 It was such a nice gesture and I ended up having the afternoon tea too which was divine!! Would definitely recommend ❤️

Visited this afternoon with family for afternoon tea for my mums 60th birthday! Beautiful food and place! We were well looked after, special mention to Holly who made everything perfect for my mums surprise and all the other staff that served us! Couldn't recommend enough.

Absolutely gorgeous place. I went a few years ago before the extension type thing and it was lush then but super nice now with more space and the decor is really lovely. My cousins had recommended this place and booked us a table for lunch. We were able to choose to sit indoors on a very warm day, but with lots of cool air circulating. The service was very friendly and we were given plenty of time to choose. We asked for some water whilst we chose our meals and drinks and it arrived promptly and well chilled. We all had different salads,which were delicious. We also had room for desserts- very good they were too. We were made to feel very welcome without it being 'over the top'. They accommodated my food intolerance( mustard) easily and without fuss. We will definitely be going again, it was one of the best meals out we've had in ages. I think it's advisable to book.

The place is lovely has the right warmth and welcomes kids , but having booked a table and made order for what we were wanting in advance expecting it to be ready to go really yet we got there and was a wait to get food also the same price for gluten and vegan options as normal which is good but for what you get the price is just too high and not worth what you get , options of all drinks included in the price which helps but expected a lot more than what we got this should be looked at and revised or even think what you get for your money you want taste and portion to be a match .

Lovely place! The staff were all friendly and lovely, the food was delicious!! The homemade chips were amazing! The lemon meringue was delightful and the burgers were beasty! With proper chicken fillets and homemade pesto. Can't wait to go back!! They were also very accommodating to fit our pram in too!
