Booked for Sunday lunch nice setting , food was so nice , portions were great plenty of meat , staff were amazing ,love this place

Not a place to visit if you suffer from arthritis or fibromyalgia. We had a very painful lunch because we were frozen in the porch area. The door constantly opening and shutting. The food is delicious and deserves five stars and the staff very friendly and hard working but it’s so uncomfortable and cold and it’s not winter yet!

my wife and I went for our anniversary meal as a recommendation from a friend. Have to say were delighted with the food, the atmosphere and the service. We were sat at a corner table, and for starters, I had the antipasti and my wife the bruschetta, both were fast and delicious. for the main meal I had the Chicken burger and my wife had the fillet rump and again, both were delicious. reasonable prices and again, great service from a great waitress. Would highly recommend this place to anyone for lovely food and ambience

I suggest booking as it’s really popular with the locals. Food was very nice and so was the drinks and was not over priced. Would return 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Fabulous place for Breakfast, top quality Bacon Sausage and golden yolk eggs. Staff are very friendly can't do enough for you. The twisted tree is a very nice place to sit and relax and get looked after. Highly recommend.

Food excellent. Staff bright & cheerful. You could easily drive past this place & think "No, not for me". Don't be deceived by the less than exciting facade. Inside is an amazingly varied menu, the 4 dishes we had were all very well presented & verrrrrrry tasty. Will definitely be back next I'm in that neck of the woods.

We had the afternoon tea which was one of the best we have had, very nicely presented and we liked that the savoury items were hot. The staff were lovely, very attentive and any issues fixed promptly. Would definitely recommend.

Came here for brunch with a friend. Quaint little spot located in Wakefield. We ordered goat cheese starters with homemade sandwiches and chunky chips. Food was deliciously and good size portions. Sandwiches could be served on a selection of breads. We sat in the outside annex which was super lovely. What topped the experience for me was the incredible service from a lovely lady called Debbie. Nothing was too much trouble. She definitely made our experience - she is a credit to the team.

Food gorgeous, staff lovely and friendly, very professional

AVOID - they treat their staff appallingly. We witnessed the manager here belittling and bullying a young member of staff, who was actually going above and beyond whilst dealing with a customer complaint (about food). The manager was condescending and aggressive towards her and we couldn't believe that this was all in front of the customers here. The food is mediocre at best and the atmosphere here is not welcoming at all. Definitely avoid this place. Note to the owners - you need to train your "manager" or even better, get rid! Disgraceful behaviour.

Twisted Vintage came highly recommended, and it did not disappoint. Despite the bustling crowd, the staff were warm and welcoming, creating a pleasant start to the day. The menu offers a great variety of dishes, with some evening options that sounded so tempting I’ll definitely be back. For breakfast, I enjoyed a delicious croque monsieur made with quality bread, savory ham, and a rich cheese sauce. The coffee was equally satisfying, complementing the lively, bustling atmosphere. This spot is a must-visit, earning every bit of its five-star rating.

Aug 24. Still a great place to eat at. There's the new outdoor area and the garden room too now. Food is excellent and service is still with a smile. June 22. Fabulous cafe/restaurant in Castleford/ whitwood. Very tastefully done out. Fantastically friendly staff, super food and presentation. Great outside space too with heaters. Absolutely recommend this place

I had organised a meal for 17 people aged from 3 years to 80 years. The communication from the staff was brilliant from the beginning. On the evening nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and the menu options are fab. Need to note that the gluten free menu has so many options which you don't often see. I would certainly hold a celebration meal here again. I visited here after my graduation a few weeks ago and just realised I forgot to write a review for this lovely place! We booked ahead and they were very accommodating to us as we didn’t know if we wanted afternoon tea or not and also wasn’t sure what time we’d arrive. When we did arrive, they had even put a congratulations sign on the table with a glass of bubbly for me too 🥹 It was such a nice gesture and I ended up having the afternoon tea too which was divine!! Would definitely recommend ❤️

Visited this afternoon with family for afternoon tea for my mums 60th birthday! Beautiful food and place! We were well looked after, special mention to Holly who made everything perfect for my mums surprise and all the other staff that served us! Couldn't recommend enough.

Absolutely gorgeous place. I went a few years ago before the extension type thing and it was lush then but super nice now with more space and the decor is really lovely. The staff couldn’t have been nicer and made everything perfect for us. Such a great menu with plenty to choose from and a kids menu. We’ll definitely be coming back sooner this time! Thanks 😍

My cousins had recommended this place and booked us a table for lunch. We were able to choose to sit indoors on a very warm day, but with lots of cool air circulating. The service was very friendly and we were given plenty of time to choose. We asked for some water whilst we chose our meals and drinks and it arrived promptly and well chilled. We all had different salads,which were delicious. We also had room for desserts- very good they were too. We were made to feel very welcome without it being 'over the top'. They accommodated my food intolerance( mustard) easily and without fuss. We will definitely be going again, it was one of the best meals out we've had in ages. I think it's advisable to book.

The place is lovely has the right warmth and welcomes kids , but having booked a table and made order for what we were wanting in advance expecting it to be ready to go really yet we got there and was a wait to get food also the same price for gluten and vegan options as normal which is good but for what you get the price is just too high and not worth what you get , options of all drinks included in the price which helps but expected a lot more than what we got this should be looked at and revised or even think what you get for your money you want taste and portion to be a match .

Lovely place! The staff were all friendly and lovely, the food was delicious!! The homemade chips were amazing! The lemon meringue was delightful and the burgers were beasty! With proper chicken fillets and homemade pesto. Can't wait to go back!! They were also very accommodating to fit our pram in too!

Having been here for brunch before and had a great experience, we decided to check it out for dinner, they were able to fit us in on the day by calling a couple of hours beforehand which was great. Lots of specials on offer as well as the normal menu made it really hard to decide what to go for! Everything we ordered was freshly cooked, had depth of flavour and made us want to have more! They also have a huge dessert selection, if you like dessert you will be spoilt for choice! Service was slightly slow but it was midweek and they may have been short staffed, but the food made up for it!

Visited Thursday 30th May, a much needed meal as we had spent the week packing for a house move the following day!! (Hence, there are no photos as we were exhausted and not thinking straight) The food was fabulous. We had a steak sandwich in ciabatta and a beef burger that both came with wonderful chips. Bearing in mind that we were exhausted and very hungry, there was so much food that we had no room for dessert. Special mention for Debbie who was absolutely amazing and looked after us throughout. Her customer service was sublime and friendly without being overbearing. We'll most certainly be back, not just for the fabulous food but also for the service.

I stopped by for food on my way past and was served by Macy and she was lovely, very knowledgable about the place and made the quick stop for food into a great restaurant experience with her service!

I had visited a few times before so arranged my sister in laws baby shower here yesterday. We sat in the beautiful conservatory den and had afternoon tea which was beautiful! (Price also Includes tea, coffee and unlimited cordials) The service was fantastic, food tasty and good portions, everything was fresh but the best bit was the staff, especially Debbie who could not do enough to make sure we were well looked after and felt at home. We had several allergies and gluten free and they again accommodated with no issues whatsoever. Thank you for giving us such a lovely and relaxed afternoon to welcome my new little nephew.

We had food here and it was really good. Tasty and well worth it. Staff very pleasant as well and food comes quickly. This place gets busy so book ahead.

Having read previous reviews I expected better. Staff were pleasant enough but the service was very hit and miss. Some didn't know what the dishes were made up of, being asked if we wanted anything else seconds after someone else had asked. £28 steaks with sachets of one type of mustard? Food was ok, not as good as I thought it would be, burger was two patties both were like a steak let consistency. The advertised cheese sauce was not existent. The special was only just hot enough to eat. Finally (and the parents must take a lot of the blame) three children running all over the place. The parents should have been spoken too. Can't say I'd go back on tonight's eveidence

Recommended by an acquaintance. Full menu available Thursday lunch. Our food (Mediterranean linguine with salmon & fish goujon sandwich) was good. Authentic chips could have included more edible ones. No draught beer. We were in the small bar area (all dark wood inc floors) but there's an extension too. Staff were good. Car park was full at 1pm.

There is literally nothing you could fault here. The food, the service, anything. Superb at every level. Been here for the brunch and breakfast and lunch. Every meal has been unreal. And the level of service has been the best ever. Highly, highly recommended. Thanks.

Family get together for bottomless, what a treat. We were celebrating Christmas, birthday and a promotion all in one go. The food was delicious and the drinks were flowing. The young ladies who were looking after us were really on the ball with everything. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They were polite, friendly and a credit to the Twisted Tree . Brilliant evening, we will definitely do it again.

A party of 10 celebrating a birthday on Saturday evening. The food was presented beautifully, the service exceptional and the food superb. A very imaginative specials board contribute to a unique dining experience where the welcome is sincere, they even provided the birthday cake, many thanks.

Me colleagues and I visited here for dinner as we were away on a work course and we were not disappointed. The staff were so lovely and friendly. And the food… it was so tasty and very good value for money. I got the halloumi salad with chips with a peach ice tea, and a lemon mirangue tart for dessert. Couldn’t fault the food at all. I’d love to visit again when I’m in the area next. Thank you to the staff for accommodating our needs.

The BEST bottomless brunch! The food and drinks were brilliant but Charlie was the highlight of the night, prompt with the drinks and we spent the night laughing. She brought up the vibe tonight! We could have left after the first hour if it wasn’t for Charlie x

My wife and I came over for a casual Saturday morning breakfast and the food quality, service and atmosphere were excellent. Added to this, the accessibility of the place (just off the M62, J31) and ample car parking made it a very easy choice for us.

It was very busy today and service was slow, we waited to place our order and then waited for the plates to be cleared. We ordered 2 coffees which never arrived and gave up after 30 mins. I paid and said we had been disappointed with the service but just got a 'hope we do better next time'. Not sure if there will be a next time.

Came here with a group of colleagues for an evening meal after reading great reviews online. What a gem of a place. We were served by the friendliest, lovliest waiting staff and the food was so tasty and really good value for money for the high quality. The puddings are especially delicious.

7 of us visited Saturday 16th March for my wife's birthday It was the first time for some and we had been talked up about the place Sitting down the music bing played was so loud we could barely have a conversation It was turned down at our request but a meal is to have a chat with friends not entertain the waitresses as they chat with each other! We ordered drinks which took over 10 mins to arrive Ordering food 4 of us asked for belly pork which we were told was off! We looked at the specials board which had half the quantity of items on the website? I ordered the prawn and chorizo stew as a starter which was small containing 4 prawns..wow! The curry I ordered as a main was two bits of fried chicken rice and a small pot of sweet curry sauce In fact the very same curry sauce as those having fish and chips had This was not a mains dish but some made up aberration! All dishes were small portions and no one raved about the food I was really disappointed and so was my wife It really should have been a LOT better!

We were a large table of 18 celebrating a 60th birthday. The food was delicious everyone sent back clean plates. The restaurant was really busy but still the staff were friendly, attentive and kind. It was a joyful experience all round. We will definitely be returning.

Waited nearly 50 minutes for the food, The burger I had was nice, but the Sunday dinner was bang average quality, undercooked meat and soggy yorkshire pudding. Went for white chocolate blondie but again wasn't the best. A bitesize piece and very thin. Wouldn’t recommend this place, to say it was recommended quite highly on google

An absolute gem of a place. As someone with difficult dietary requirements they bent over backwards to accommodate me and even said if I call ahead next time the chef will do me a bespoke menu. Food is all cooked fresh, service is amazing- nothings too much trouble. Officially my new favourite place 😍

I tried to organise a party here and the pricing was ridiculous. The owner wanted to charge 700 pounds for a party of approximately 20 people, 9 of whom were children for a room and afternoon tea. Compared to other venues its laughable pricing. The boathouse at newmillerdam is much more reasonable, the staff friendly and the food and service is just as good if not better.

The place is very nice and the food is good quality, the only problem I have is the portion sizes in conjunction with the price but other then that there were no major issues would definitely return at some point but I'm not rushing back.

We had high hopes for this place following the reviews. We were a party of four and two had burgers and two had the chicken & chorizo pie from the specials menu. The burgers at £15.95 were ok but over priced. The pie looked awful but tasted ok at it was home made. The pie was £16.95 each so we expected something a lot better than we got. Service was attentive, warm and friendly.

This spot is great would recommend if you love cajun spice or katsu curry spice. Staff are lovely but are sometimes forgetful. Overall a great place to eat.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for making our mates birthday an evening to remember. The staff are brilliant! The food is tasty and delicious. Despite a minor hiccup with a missing meal, it’s the friendliness of the ladies serving us and the quality of the food that made it a fantastic night enjoyed by all. Thank you again, we will return.

Very overpriced for the food, garlic mushrooms had no taste, ordered beans and toast for my child and ended up getting wrong order so had to wait longer for the correct order, staff standing round putting on lippy instead of serving customers, will not be returning

Great food don't like being near the door when windy was sooo cold and the drinks shouting at next table made it hard to even have a conversation would of expected them to be told to keep it down but shouting all the way through our meal wasn't good

A fantastic venue for a quick business breakfast. The food was once again really tasty, eggs royale, with a sides of Halloumi and creamy mushrooms. Finishing with a lovely lemon meringue to share. Although a little quieter than normal, always worth booking as it does get busy 5/5 from us, and brilliant consistency as well
