Had a lovely lunch with friends today. Mediterranean salad for me, goats cheese salad and the ham sandwich physio a portion of chips for my friends. A lovely French rose for me and a pinot grigio blush for my friends. All lovely. I had the small desert with coffee ( carrot cake with pistachio frosting) absolutely fab. As usual service, atmosphere and food were brilliant. See you again soon.

We visited Twisted Tree for lunch today, and we couldn't fault anything. We were made to feel very welcome, the service was excellent, as was the food, which arrived very quickly and was of very high quality. I cannot wait to return to try the rustic afternoon tea, which was delivered to the table next to us and looked and smelled amazing.

First time at twisted tree s as nd definitely won’t be the last. Ordered our drinks 2 flat whites, absolutely delicious but lukewarm warm !! Would have preferred them to come with our breakfast. Our order of Bacon sandwich on toast was absolutely delicious and full English was banging. Can’t wait to return and sample the lunch menu x

We had lunch in the unusual 'tent' at the back. What a great place to meet. The food was excellent. We had a quick pre meeting business lunch, so sandwiches with a drink. There was a good choice of bread which was good to see. I would definitely recommend this pub for some excellent food.

Just returned and have to say, the team is on form, great service and quality ingredients again today 👍 We have been frequent visitors to The Twisted Tree from its launch, and cant believe we hadn’t reviewed yet ! If you want a great breakfast, good lunch, afternoon tea or lovely evening meal it is a great little find, always worth a call to make sure they can fit you in, although the new Garden room has added much needed extra space For breakfast you can’t fault the full English, great quality ingredients and always really well prepared, for lunch I’d recommend the steak sandwich or chicken salad, both are great. We’d also recommend the sharing starter, it’s brilliant at about £16, great choice and lots of different options. The afternoon tea is great value and in our opinion is the best in the area, and simply coffee and a cake can be great if the weather is good Oh yes, one final recommendation, I’d travel miles for the Halloumi fries, simply have to add them to any dish !

Really great stop off the motorway if you want a seriously good breakfast in a sparklingly clean restaurant. Kind staff, dog was very much welcomed (in the section where we sat). Nice loo.

Been wanting to try this place for ages as they’re always posting in a gluten free group that I’m on Went for breakfast full English as I always get, it wasn’t the best to be honest I was very disappointed I wish I’d taken a photo as I normally do as it was poor The egg had no white it was just a yolk and a hard one at that, shrivelled up mushrooms that looked old, fatty bacon, it just wasn’t the best I’m afraid and we wouldn’t return which is a shame as gluten free places are few and far between

Lovely restaurant, great food and great service. Super helpful staff who even helped us to sign up for a discount on our bill. Would recommend for a meal and so handy for the motorway when meeting up. Popular, so probably best to book in advance.

What a fantastic restaurant, great food and service, highly recommend

Very nice place and food was lovely its just a shame about the lack of parking. The car park is very small and the road it is on was very busy and people were parking on the pavements making it very difficult to get to by car and by foot. We ended up parked around 500 yards away and then had to walk around many cars just to reach the bar.

Went on Mother's day, so extremely busy. Probably not a true reflection of service and quality of food.

Table booked for 8 persons. Took all orders at the same time. 2 orders arrived late…after some in the party had even finished their plates.

First time visiting, and now we know a great place for a Sunday dinner! A good mix of items on the plate, and the Yorkshire's are big and fluffy. The large was an extra Yorkshire and a second choice of meat. Lovely, friendly staff. Cosy yet bright atmosphere.

Went today for my mums bday it was fab

This is the second year we have attended for my daughter’s birthday party. Everything was easy to book and Caroline made sure that dietary requirements were met at the booking stage. The food was delicious and the children really enjoyed their pizzas! The staff were amazing and always checked to make sure everything was okay! My daughter has coeliac disease and two of her friends too with diary allergies. Again these were checked before serving any food. I highly recommend coming for a party here and I can’t wait to come back next year! Thank you Debbie for coming to cut Eloise’s cake!

Six of us visited 2 weeks ago for lunch to celebrate a friend's birthday. I had the Wild Boar Burger which came with salad, home made coleslaw and homemade chips. It was absolutely terrific and great value for money, the young ladies serving were very efficient and very warm and friendly. We will be back soon.

Parked down a nearby street . Lack of parking. Basic interior . Our meal was tasty , the staff were pleasant. Who wants to hear loud pounding music when you’re eating and talking ? You will never hear a review of an eating establishment saying ‘’ loved the loud pulsating beat sounds’’ Turn it either off or play soothing music , quietly. Oh yes take paper hankies , the loo paper is from the fifties

I recently visited The Twisted Tree for breakfast, and it exceeded my expectations! I ordered the all-day breakfast, which was not only incredibly tasty but also came in a huge portion that was perfect for starting the day. The eggs were cooked just right, the bacon was crispy. The presentation of the food was appealing, and everything was served hot and fresh. The ambiance of the café is perfect for a relaxed meal or even catching up with friends. The decoration adds to the cozy vibe, and I felt comfortable sitting there for a while. What really stood out was the attentive service. The staff were friendly and polite, constantly coming over to check if we needed anything but without being intrusive. If you're looking for a place with great food, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere, The Twisted Tree is definitely worth a visit!

Visited The Twisted Tree with my husband and daughter Dec 2023 for the Christmas Festive Menu which at the time was lovely !!! We decided to visit again Dec 2024 and invited our family for the Festive Menu. We had booked our time, and on arrival were seated at the smallest table right next to the bar and kitchen. Servers and other customers were constantly walking past our table and in and out the entrance, knocking us and it was so cold. We couldn’t move tables due to how full the restaurant was. The year before we were seated in the heated gazebo outside, it was lovely, throw blankets and very festive - completely different to the atmosphere this time - dark and cold. The food was such a disappointment - not how we remembered from the previous year. Bacon wrapped round a fatty turkey roulade - none of us ate. Hard vegetables and bland tasting. Previous year vegetables were served in individual dishes and tasty. Family members ordered the lemon posset - again disaster - liquid sweet syrup - they didn’t eat it !!! We paid over £200 to be cold, knocked and tasteless food. We paid and left. I contacted the Twisted Tree to confirm how unhappy we were. They did eventually respond offering a voucher and to return. Nothing came…. I contacted them two further times …. Again ignored. To date I still have not heard from the restaurant nor received an apology or voucher. We live locally and would have visited more. Seems because they have good reviews they choose to ignore bad reviews or people who complain - not good for business but happy to take your money.

Great friendly staff and delicious food. We had the Korean belly pork and chicken supreme, both were very tasty..

Called in first thing for a coffee with a colleague and was met with a warm friendly welcome. Staff explained that the coffee machine was being fixed so would we mind waiting 10 minutes or so. In the end we got 2 pots of tea, proper Yorkshire Tea and enjoyed our meeting. We were so impressed that we booked a table for lunch and as agreed popped back about midday. Again we were made to feel so welcome and the choice and quality of the food was unbelievable. We both opted for the Cajun Chicken Flatbread and also a portion of their homemade chips and I can honestly say the whole meal was delicious - probably one of the nicest Cajun Chickens I’ve ever had and the chips were to die for! Service was excellent and we were looked after by Tia on both occasions and she is an amazing asset to The Twisted Tree - she is so polite, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. I loved coming to The Twisted Tree and will definitely be returning next time I’m in the area for business.

2nd visit and remain impressed with all aspects of it. Great service, food faultless and tasty. Food is prepared with a good attention to detail that is reassuring. Cannot wait for next month's menu

The new bar is great. We are local and its just perfect in what we we want in a local area. We went for valentines night out and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Special shout out to our waitress Esme and the lady at the bar (we think called Lauren/had brown hair!). The staff were very friendly and down to earth . The venue is very modern, reasonably priced and great venue. The only feedback we have is you cant tip on your card and people rarely have cash nowadays 🙂

Meal with a colleague. Stayed at hotel two min walk up the road. Found the Twisted Tree on Trip Advisor so thought we’d try. Really glad we did as it was fantastic. What a wonderful hidden gem. The food is out of this world. Reasonable priced, too, which is an added bonus. We had our gender reveal here today they catered for 20 guests. All the food orders were correct. They did separate bills to save time at the end. The staff was brilliant and helped us dress the tables ready for our guests. To which every guest commented how wonderful the place and food were. The only downfall is that the car park is really small, but cars can be parked close by . Highly recommend.

Excellent New Years Eve Murder Mystery party. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and the effort that went into the murder mystery was just outstanding! They had catered for everyone food wise and game wise. Quizzes on the table that lead to clues for those less inclined to mingle and fantastic scripts for those that really wanted to get involved. The bonus rounds were hilarious. Massive thanks and congratulations to the event organisers. It was brilliant, I’d highly recommend and hope to be back next year to improve my mystery solving skills!

Lovely little restaurant in Castleford. Delicious menu. Only slight gripe is the cakes are kept in the fridge so the sponge and fillings were a bit solid!

New Year’s Eve 80s themed murder mystery party was fantastic. The food was delicious, the staff were welcoming and friendly and the service was excellent. The murder mystery was genius, big thanks to Wayne and Diane. We had a great time, chatting with others, solving clues, listening to great music and completing challenges- as we tried to work out whodunnit. We didn’t work it out… but the evening was brilliant. Would def recommend.

The 3 course meal was delicious, the service was great, so much effort had gone into creating the murder mystery evening so that everyone could be involved as much or as little as they wanted, and we had a very warm welcome. Had an evening meal here in the small room with the bar. Heard the belly pork was really good so both ordered that. Quite disappointed as it was overcooked. Also only bottled beer available. Staff pleasant and efficient. Nice atmosphere.

Delicious food! Great menu but also great food on specials board to try! I had wild boar burger and it was delicious! Staff are lovely and friendly and very accommodating for babies & prams, will help you warm bottles and baby changing available! Can't wait to return!

my wife and I went for our anniversary meal as a recommendation from a friend. Have to say were delighted with the food, the atmosphere and the service. We were sat at a corner table, and for starters, I had the antipasti and my wife the bruschetta, both were fast and delicious. for the main meal I had the Chicken burger and my wife had the fillet rump and again, both were delicious. reasonable prices and again, great service from a great waitress. Would highly recommend this place to anyone for lovely food and ambience

Not a place to visit if you suffer from arthritis or fibromyalgia. We had a very painful lunch because we were frozen in the porch area. The door constantly opening and shutting. The food is delicious and deserves five stars and the staff very friendly and hard working but it’s so uncomfortable and cold and it’s not winter yet!

I don’t often comment but when amazing it needs saying! After being seated very close to others (I felt I was encroaching) I asked if there was anywhere else. We were asked where we’d like to be and we were took to the Den, which was a lovely area. The two staff members were great with this and very attentive! Promptly we had drinks and food order taken by Debbie. She was just fab with everyone she came across, from start to finish, which these days can be rare! Our foods and drinks came quick. Food was the best I’d ever had there, (Ive been about ten times now) Hubby was more than happy with steak, my Cajun chicken with rice and flatbread was so nice but sadly couldn’t eat all mine. Big well done to all, we’ll be back soon!
