A party of 10 celebrating a birthday on Saturday evening. The food was presented beautifully, the service exceptional and the food superb. A very imaginative specials board contribute to a unique dining experience where the welcome is sincere, they even provided the birthday cake, many thanks.

Never posted a review but this place deserves one. Top quality food, reasonably priced and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. Went above and beyond for us 👍

Great food, lovely little place. I along with 2 others went for afternoon tea...the food was outstanding, even took some home, they even made me extra Chantilly cream to take home 👍

Had a bottomless brunch for 4, staff were lovely and accommodating and Leah was very lovely, The garlic mushrooms and steak were delicious, as well as the bruschetta. Thank you for the lovely experience 🙂

Arrived without a reservation but despite being a busy bank holiday I was fitted in for a lovely breakfast.

Had the Sunday carvery well nice, will definitely be going back.

Me colleagues and I visited here for dinner as we were away on a work course and we were not disappointed. The staff were so lovely and friendly. And the food… it was so tasty and very good value for money. I got the halloumi salad with chips with a peach ice tea, and a lemon mirangue tart for dessert. Couldn’t fault the food at all. I’d love to visit again when I’m in the area next. Thank you to the staff for accommodating our needs.

The BEST bottomless brunch! The food and drinks were brilliant but Charlie was the highlight of the night, prompt with the drinks and we spent the night laughing. She brought up the vibe tonight! We could have left after the first hour if it wasn’t for Charlie x

My wife and I came over for a casual Saturday morning breakfast and the food quality, service and atmosphere were excellent. Added to this, the accessibility of the place (just off the M62, J31) and ample car parking made it a very easy choice for us.

Had a nice afternoon tea. Seems like a popular place. It was my first visit and I will return to try something else on the menu.

It was very busy today and service was slow, we waited to place our order and then waited for the plates to be cleared. We ordered 2 coffees which never arrived and gave up after 30 mins. I paid and said we had been disappointed with the service but just got a 'hope we do better next time'. Not sure if there will be a next time.

Came here with a group of colleagues for an evening meal after reading great reviews online. What a gem of a place. We were served by the friendliest, lovliest waiting staff and the food was so tasty and really good value for money for the high quality. The puddings are especially delicious.

7 of us visited Saturday 16th March for my wife's birthday It was the first time for some and we had been talked up about the place Sitting down the music bing played was so loud we could barely have a conversation It was turned down at our request but a meal is to have a chat with friends not entertain the waitresses as they chat with each other! We ordered drinks which took over 10 mins to arrive Ordering food 4 of us asked for belly pork which we were told was off! We looked at the specials board which had half the quantity of items on the website? I ordered the prawn and chorizo stew as a starter which was small containing 4 prawns..wow! The curry I ordered as a main was two bits of fried chicken rice and a small pot of sweet curry sauce In fact the very same curry sauce as those having fish and chips had This was not a mains dish but some made up aberration! All dishes were small portions and no one raved about the food I was really disappointed and so was my wife It really should have been a LOT better!

We have visited a few times and the food is great, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Definitely recommend!

Nice food had to wait half hour for second coffee despite askin twice

An excellent meal today at the Twisted Tree, Martha served us an excellent steak sandwich and Cajun chicken sandwich with fries. Would recommend, a delicious meal and a great atmosphere 😁

We were a large table of 18 celebrating a 60th birthday. The food was delicious everyone sent back clean plates. The restaurant was really busy but still the staff were friendly, attentive and kind. It was a joyful experience all round. We will definitely be returning.

Waited nearly 50 minutes for the food, The burger I had was nice, but the Sunday dinner was bang average quality, undercooked meat and soggy yorkshire pudding. Went for white chocolate blondie but again wasn't the best. A bitesize piece and very thin. Wouldn’t recommend this place, to say it was recommended quite highly on google

An absolute gem of a place. As someone with difficult dietary requirements they bent over backwards to accommodate me and even said if I call ahead next time the chef will do me a bespoke menu. Food is all cooked fresh, service is amazing- nothings too much trouble. Officially my new favourite place 😍

I tried to organise a party here and the pricing was ridiculous. The owner wanted to charge 700 pounds for a party of approximately 20 people, 9 of whom were children for a room and afternoon tea. Compared to other venues its laughable pricing. The boathouse at newmillerdam is much more reasonable, the staff friendly and the food and service is just as good if not better.

Had sunday dinner , I had beef and it was absolutely gorgeous ,staff so helpfull polite and strive for customer satisfaction , will deffo be going back

The place is very nice and the food is good quality, the only problem I have is the portion sizes in conjunction with the price but other then that there were no major issues would definitely return at some point but I'm not rushing back.

We had high hopes for this place following the reviews. We were a party of four and two had burgers and two had the chicken & chorizo pie from the specials menu. The burgers at £15.95 were ok but over priced. The pie looked awful but tasted ok at it was home made. The pie was £16.95 each so we expected something a lot better than we got. Service was attentive, warm and friendly.

This spot is great would recommend if you love cajun spice or katsu curry spice. Staff are lovely but are sometimes forgetful. Overall a great place to eat.

Excellent service and great food. Esme was super attentive in serving us particularly after we had finished our meal and stayed for a few drinks. Highly recommend a visit!

Just wanted to say a huge thank you for making our mates birthday an evening to remember. The staff are brilliant! The food is tasty and delicious. Despite a minor hiccup with a missing meal, it’s the friendliness of the ladies serving us and the quality of the food that made it a fantastic night enjoyed by all. Thank you again, we will return.

Great bistro, lovely afternoon tea, lunch dinner or just popping in for a coffee or cocktail

Very overpriced for the food, garlic mushrooms had no taste, ordered beans and toast for my child and ended up getting wrong order so had to wait longer for the correct order, staff standing round putting on lippy instead of serving customers, will not be returning

Great food don't like being near the door when windy was sooo cold and the drinks shouting at next table made it hard to even have a conversation would of expected them to be told to keep it down but shouting all the way through our meal wasn't good

A fantastic venue for a quick business breakfast. The food was once again really tasty, eggs royale, with a sides of Halloumi and creamy mushrooms. Finishing with a lovely lemon meringue to share. Although a little quieter than normal, always worth booking as it does get busy 5/5 from us, and brilliant consistency as well

Had a lovely babyshower here apart from your waitress/ manager telling my daughter at her own babyshower to be quiet how ignorant you are do not book 20+ people in you showed her up in front of strangers & family & friends & also upset her another member of staff had to apologise for what you did

Fantastic place to eat and drink. There’s something for everyone. Lovely, friendly atmosphere. We didn’t feel rushed or out of place and Sam our waitress was so happy and smiley. It was our first time here but it certainly won’t be our last.

Its rare I can give a place 5* on everything, but the twisted tree has excelled in every way. Extremely friendly staff, beautiful food, nice environment. I would recommend parking on the street as the car park is a little tight. Definitely will return and will recommend to more people! Filet steak with the blue cheese sauce is a must have!

Lovely restaurant and lovely staff, especially Martha. Great customer service and she brought our food and drinks out very fast. Would definitely recommend this place.

My daughter and Son in Law booked your venue for our family Xmas lunch this year and all 3 courses were delishly outstanding, not to mention the fabulous atmosphere and very attentive staff who couldn’t do enough to please everyone, well done to each and everyone of you and we will definitely be back in the New Year 😊

Booked Christmas lunch table for 1:00 pm. Had to wait for table to be ready and eventually taken to the Den. Good atmosphere but told we could only order from the normal menu as we had not pre-ordered our food. Considering I had booked Christmas lunch I was annoyed. I was told that someone had telephoned me five days ago to ask for the food order. They said I had asked for the normal menu. I received no such call. We were told if we wanted Turkey we would have to wait an additional thirty minutes for the food to be cooked. We told them not to bother and we ordered from the usual menu. The food was lovely as usual but it took two hours to be served two courses! I would have preferred not to leave a tip but my friends insisted as it wasn’t the waitresses’ fault for the mix up with the booking. By the end of the meal we were frozen and couldn’t wait to get home for a hot drink. I think I’ll think twice before going back.

Perfect place to catch up with friends.

I had a gorgeous salmon fillet with crispy skin and potatoes, the broccoli was also really nice along with the fresh pesto which tasted home made, I would definitely order this again!

Bottomless brunch for 4 and by far the best I’ve experienced yet! Food was out of this world and Debbie is a fantastic waitress!

I have heard such great things about this place and my partner had visited previously and spoke highly of her experience. Due to this I thought I would bring her for birthday breakfast on Sunday 15th October 2023. We arrived and was initially told there was not any tables available when another staff member approached and informed the waitress speaking with us there was room in the outdoor tent like facility. Upon being seated we was told we only had the table until 12:30, it was approximately 11:15 at this point and as we only wanted breakfast's we saw no issue with this time frame. However, we were then confused by the comment as we were seated for 25minutes without anyone taking a drinks order and the surrounding tables were having similar experiences. Our table was also dirty and a more experienced member of staff was questioning the young waitress on why the tables were not cleaned, in response she said "well I don't have a cloth so I just didn't clean them". We ordered our food and drinks at the same time to avoid any further unnecessary waiting due to the table been required at 12:30pm. We ordered and asked for extra bacon and feta with one of the dishes, this did not arrive and we brought it to the attention of the young female waitress who looked confused and walked off to retrieve her tablet, I assume to check our order but there was no explanation of this or anything as she walked out into the main pub and then did not return for another ten minutes or so. We had 3 dishes ordered all of which were now sat on the table going cold at this point. Due to this I walked over to the main building and spoke to another young waitress explaining the situation and how our meals were now cold and we were confused as to what was happening due to lack of communication. She apologised and informed me the extras were been cooked and again I explained how the issue was that none of the existing food was taken away and that when the extras finally arrived the rest of the meal was cold and inedible. In resolution the additional dish of bacon and feta came to the table and then the other meals were taken away to be reheated. At the conclusion of our meal we were told the cost of the extra ingredients to the sum of £3.95 would be removed from our bill. We did not deem this suitable compensation for the poor service we had received, however was happy to pay our bill and leave. This did not come to fruition when I examined the bill we had been charged for all items ordered, again when highlighting this to the waitress she seemed dumbfounded and panicked, stating she could go and ask the manager what to do. At this point we were now stood in the entrance of the outdoor facility as nobody had come to our table to make payment and due to the awkwardness of the situation felt it was better to pay the total sum and leave rather than be stood waiting again. I just wanted to send this email to express my utter dissatisfaction and disappointment. What was supposed to be a nice relaxed birthday treat ended in leaving quite frustrated and stressed. I myself have worked in hospitality for over 10 years and understand difficulties faced in this industry. I also appreciate how new staff can be a little unnerved to start with, however what I experienced was far more than this. It is clear from the young girl working yesterday she is in need of some immediate training and mentoring before she is left to manage a whole sector of tables on her own. She was visibly struggling and other staff were having to tell her to clear tables and carry a cloth as she did not have one she just decided not to wipe down any tables at all. This has definitely put me off from attending in future.

Absolutely loved our birthday brunch! The food was delicious, especially the BBQ pork belly - it was so tender and flavorful. The staff were also really friendly and accommodating, which made the whole experience even better :)

Just left the twisted tree after enjoying a lovely 3 courses. Tacos to die for!! A chocolate orange chews ale that was divine. Excellent service great atmosphere thank you we will definitely be back again.

It was good and bad, not terrible though We booked for 8 people for afternoon tea, one with an allergn. When I booked I got the impession they would handle his allergn fine and had alternatives. However all this meant was he was served less of the menu, and without thought to his meal. E.g removing sauces so it became dry chicken on dry bread. Removing desserts, he paid the same as us but had a worse off service. Which is a shame as it was his birthday. Also not to mention I booked early with notification and we still had to bring it up on the day to the server. Its shame as it let the experience down. If you do have something like a dairy allergn i would avoid the afternoon tea, it makes it very not worth the money. A scone is very easy to make vegan, but that was none existent for example. Its like an afterthought which is a shame

I had my baby shower here yesterday and the staff were so helpful and went above and beyond to help cater for everyone. The finishing touches added to the tables for decoration were lovely too and the afternoon tea was amazing. would 100% be coming back.

Glad to have had the opportunity to visit this cafe. It has a nice atmosphere inside and staffs are friendly. We were there for a quick brunch. Our food were delicious and I enjoyed the latte. I wish to return to this place when I come back in town for my next visit.

Another fabulous breakfast at Twisted Tree, consistency been key to long term success and this place has got it nailed Great quality ingredients, well presented and served with a smile, what more could you want... oh yes the Halloumi fries, always a must when you visit !

What a gem of a place! Gorgeous surroundings and food. Staff were really lovely and welcoming.

The food on our table had mixed reviews unfortunately. I had the Creamy garlic mushrooms for starter which were good but I was disappointed with my main which was the pork belly with leeks and carrot puree. I did ask for no BBQ sauce on my pork however, the pork belly was thin and deep fried which made it quite hard and dry. Even with BBQ sauce on top it wouldn't have changed that. The chips are usually amazing from here but they were a bit overcooked, like really crispy and oily. It wasn't a horrible meal, just a bit of a let down. Having said that, people on our table did love their food. I have been plenty of times before and enjoyed it. Hopefully it was just an off day - it hasn't put me off and I will go and try again.

Decent place, but we honestly expected the food to be much better based on rating and other reviews.... It was OK, nothing so special.... The Salmon dish was a better option than the burgers.

Our steak and chicken in our meals were both sightly overcooked...but it didn't spoil the meal ..very lovely..and the waitress came to apologise for our wait as they were busy serving a large table of guests.

We’ve visited here many times now and it’s a great place for breakfast. Good hot coffees served with non gf Croque Madame and gluten free avocado and eggs on toast with side order of bacon. Won’t be long before we’re back.

Had a baby shower booked for the weekend outside but unfortunately due to the weather had to make alternative arrangements! The lovely staff helped out and agreed to box up all the buffett food we had ordered and dis it slightly cheaper as we wouldn't be having the juice and tea and coffee! The staff were lovely and food was incredible lots of compliements! Even the chef popped out to make sure it was okay! Thankyou so much!

Reasonably priced, great portion size. It's been very busy both times we have gone - definitely worth booking in advance. We had a look at the afternoon tea, and that looked brilliant although didn't try it. Steak sandwich fell apart pretty quickly - the bread...

We only had a cup of coffee. It wouldn't be fair to make comment, apart to say there was a good varies choice.
