Ordered and absolute horrific combo of food, but the staff were so welcoming Lucy was great preparing the food and was served by Ollie behind bar, great service and great conversation with jay, one of the waiting staff, lovely experience and would definitely comeback for on weekends ☺️

Went to pay some of our Christmas meal, took my dog who loves going to see hus favourite human Kelly. Carvery nice as always absolutely stuffed, l9oking forward to Christmas day. Yes there is set up for Christmas but all pubs do this from September, most fully booked by end of October. I believe there isnt many settings left now and almost fully booked Hopefully will be booking santa paws 🐾 meet and greet.

Visited on September 25th and surprised to see a large Santa and Christmas tree with full decorations as we entered the pub. Surely this is far too early? The meals my wife and I had were both poor value, even after receiving an email giving 30% discount. The carvery was tasteless and not warm enough and the scampi was more like a child's portion. Unlike other reviews, my experience wasn't satisfactory and we won't be returning anytime in the future.

Massive deterioration since last came 3 months ago. Completely tasteless. Cauliflower cheese … just cauliflower…Go elsewhere plenty if other decent carveries locally. These guys need to up their game!

Excellent as ever, quite but nice atmosphere. I'm a regular here and love the food. Had a carvery which was delicious and ordered of the new dog menu a chicken breast nice and warm, added some gravy to it as I have a picky dog, there was nothing left gone in 5 minutes so a paws up from Castiel. There are alot of choices for your dog, even a steak.

This was the best meat we have had in years It had taste and was very tender. Very generous helping even for a small plate on the carvery. We both agreed we would go again--soon I hope A good selection on the menu.

I've been a regular customer at the Swan & Cygnet for some time now and there's one member of staff, who always goes out of her way to help all customers & that is a lovely lady called Wendy. Wendy is so helpful, she literally goes out of her way to help everyone,. She's always friendly and approachable & nothing is ever too much trouble for her. I really feel she's a huge asset to this establishment,.

Very quiet one Tuesday tea time. £30 odd for 2 standard carveries, one pint of Peroni, one pint of lemonade. The plates were small. The only green vegetables on offer were peas. The young man carved two small slices of turkey and one small slice of beef. Both were nice but simply not large enough. He was playing the 'Pacman' game with the roast beef. Don't you just hate it when establishments takes your money then want to give you a minimal amount of meat. Rating 6/10

Left many positive review but totally disappointed recently. This is 3rd time where we had to wait for simple things like gravy, apple sauce and cranberry sauce. Very annoying as your sunday lunch is going cold whilst waiting. That said, worse was price of glass of house wine. £7. You can get a whole bottle for less than the price of a bottle. Asked how much for the bottle and they could not answer that. Total rip off. At least dick turpin wore a mask. Owners should be ashamed of themselves

We’ve been coming to this Pub for over 20 years, called in for lunch,Wife had Small Carvery I had the Gammon Steak etc,both meals cooked to perfection,I ordered a Pint and a Half of Pedigree, Half was perfect, Pint was foul,barman gave me another Pint of Pedigree,that was foul tried a Hobgoblin that was foul the n given a Marstons smooth,never heard of it and left most of it,.When your paying £4.65 a pint you expect better,This is the 4th time in last few months I,ve complained about the beer,ask Wendy. You’ve lost some customers,nobody has responded about my complaints.

Curry and a Pint spcial. A long wait for meal to be served. Had we had limited time, this could have been a problem. As per each visit plates and balti dishes were cold, which does affect the overall meal experience. Wether we visit for lunch, dinner, choose from the menu or have carvery plates are always cold. Hot food is much more enjoyable served on hot plates.

Service was excellent but little disappointed with the meal the donner and fries was over cooked which made hard to chew and eat

Love going to the Swan and Cygnet it's our go to place with family for birthdays anniversary etc Feels abit more special than your average place. Lovely surroundings great food never been disappointed and friendly staff. Like to take one of there takeaway pieces of cake home with me as well yum!😋Looking forward to the next birthday hopefully will be able to sit outside for our coffee after the meal as they have some lovely seating outside as well

Roy and myself love meeting up with our son and grandchildren for an evening meal at the Swan and Signet , the atmosphere is brilliant, staff are really friendly and welcoming, the food is always delicious, plenty of choice What more could you ask for This is our grandsons favourite meet up place

The meal was very tasty and the restaurant had amazing service. I would have to give Josh a big shout out for his friendly manner and his helpfulness. I would definitely go again.

Great place to eat. We come here often for a catch up with family when they come over from Southport. Usually sat near the kids area and they usually play with the toys that they have out for them. Kids & Adults menu full of variety there is enough choice for everyone. I would recommend the carvery as the beef is delicious! The staff our great and the place is always accommodating! Definitely worth a visit.

Brilliant time celebrating my Dads 81st birthday..there was a great variety of different food on the menu to suit all and very reasonably priced The staff were very accommodating when asked if they could bring out the cake and light the candles so we could sing to my Dad after meal All in all a very enjoyable evening..will definitely be back

Never been befor, didn’t know how to go on , nobody told us , had to wait ages for a drink, then ages for placing meal order. We all had the carvery and it must have taken 30 mins to get to front of queue , food wasn’t bad !

Really enjoyed my first visit here. Food was really good and some great vegetarian options, too. The manager was also really friendly. Will certainly return again in future.

Another great meet up with friends here after a NY day walk. Tasty carvery & plenty of it. All pushed the boat out & we enjoyed a delicious desert too! Drinks quick to arrive. Staff friendly & on the ball. Rick especially welcoming & checking on our experience throughout. We will be back as always.

Our family came here over the Xmas period , yes it was busy but thats to be expected at Christmas , but all the staff and the management worked really hard to try and keep everything running on time and trying to please everyone

Christmas Day Dinner with a group of 11 family members - the service and organisation was very disappointing (to say the very least). Grossly understaffed. Those having the carvery were issued with tickets and sent off to queue. What they didn't tell us was that those not having the carvery also had to go and queue for their meals. Hence, some of our party had finished their main course before others got back to the table with their food. (Couldn't wait for them as the food was not very hot.) The 'chef' cutting (definitely not 'carving') the meat needed some lessons - my meat was just a pile of bits, not a slice of anything. Then we were just left with tables full of used dishes for over half an hour. After asking for desserts three times they started to arrive, but nowhere to put them as the tables were still full of dirty dishes. When we left, there were a good number of very fed up looking people, also getting frustrated at the lack of service.

really dont know where to start a boxing day treat what a joke. 5 adults 2 children booked month's ago , waited an hour for starters after having to ask for them the prawn cocktails were pitiful the pate was grainy the toast was wet underneath pate wouldnt spread and stay on toast wasnt eaten the starters all came at different times the last one arrived after others had finished . main carvery beef tasteless gammon very very dry everything else was luck warm and looked like it was left over from christmas day . after another long wait i had to go ask for the deserts as i asked he raised his voice to me stating there was 5 other people asking the same question first one out was the cheese plate we all just sat there laughing at it it was that perthitic it was shameful choc brownies for the children were so cold and hard . at this point we had all just bout had enough on the way out i asked for the managers name because i will be taking this further . we have eaten here many times before with no problems this was supposed to be a boxing day treat thats was booked months in advance and the menu form filled we just dont know how the hell they got this so wrong a lot of hard earned cash wasted on something that was supposed to be a nice time people all around us were also complaining there was deffo no christmas atmosphere the only good point we could find was the crackers had a good bang wish we had spent our £150 else where now feeling very ripped off .

Boxing day dinner was a train wreck, last year was superb, the one star was for having a roof. When the management raises his voice at your spouse because you have just got pudding after two and a half hours and you go for a smoke to not hit him, you just know your boxing day 27 quid meal was better at the salvation army soup kitchen and came with a smile.

Visited for work’s Christmas meal , waited over 2 hours for food (even though we had Pre booked ) which was nothing to write home about Luke warm and tasteless cavery veg hard meat fatty burger wasn’t much better either , service was very slow with front of house arguing with kitchen in front of us blaming each other very unpleasant and unprofessional, avoid don’t waste your money

Arrived at 1pm without a booking. Was told to find a table, which we did. Place looked nice and clean. Placed order at bar, told to expect a half hour wait, which we accepted as it was busy. After half an hour, my wife's soup was served, luke warm, bread roll cold and dry. We waited another half hour for the main courses, no-one came near the table. Found a waiter who came over and said that the kitchen was not advised that we were waiting as the soup dish had not been returned to the kitchen! What a rubbish system. Food was dire, wife was nearly sick in the night. Her chicken had been burned underneath. First and last time there.

Probably one of the worst carvery meals I’ve had. No Turkey on offer, just beef which looked like it had been in a nuclear war and the scrag end of a piece of gammon. Soggy Yorkshire puddings and barely warm vegetables which had been standing around for ages. Stood waiting for someone to actually serve me some food for 10 minutes. Awful.
