Only got 1 star cos there's no 0 rating. Advertised gluten free vegetarian sausage sarnie. On receiving the bread was fossilised. Not just stale it was harder than toast and uneatable.took it back to change and was told all the gluten free is the same! Ate some of the sausages cos I was starving, they were total cheap cr@p as well. Park fabulous, cafe I'll never use it again

Gorgeous lunch today, delicious soup with two hunks of bread, and we shared chips . Used my discount card which comes with me being a friend of YSP which I pay annually. Use it regularly to meet up with friends and it certainly pays back . Great value and the cafe is so spacious and well laid out. Hard working team, well done

We visited the Sculpture Park today on our way to York. It was convenient to visit as only one mile off the M1. There’s lots to see and we pre purchased tickets which included afternoon tea. This was great value at £21.95 each as it included admission to the park (usually £11). Our table was set for us and the food arrived quickly. There was an excellent selection of hot and cold savoury items plus cakes and scones. All delicious and the salted caramel brownie was to die for. The package also included unlimited hot drinks - my husband had a pot of tea, an Americano and an espresso! Will definitely return.

Had a free pass to go to the sculpture park. Cycled from Wakefield,no problem finding it and using the cycle parking. It's a very large park to walk around and can take several hours,so wear sensible footwear (not sandals). There's plenty of animal poo about on and off tracks. Away from the information /café areas there is little sitting available around the park and what there is usually has sheep poo on them. Dogs must be kept on lead although I saw a couple off lead away and out of sight from the main buildings. Café prices reasonable and there's a free water refill near the cycle stands. All in all a good day out if prepared and planned properly. P.S. use the maps provided

Met some friends to see the new sculptures and (hopefully) have an enjoyable lunch. We got as far as the Damien Hirst sculptures -- I particularly liked "Myth" -- and the heavens opened. We made for the YSP's new restaurant where we were quickly seated by the window, presented with menus, and our orders taken: the Eggs Benedict proved a popular choice for two of us. Our food arrived quickly, piping hot, and, we all agreed, very good it was too. We lingered over coffee while gazing out the window watching the rain fall on Hirst's unicorn. There's worse ways to spend a rainy Friday afternoon.

The Yorkshire Sculpture Park is wonderful and well worth as many visits as you can afford to make. However, the cost of the parking and refreshments is exorbitant and must make it impossible for huge numbers of people to visit and enjoy all that the park has to offer and teach. If there were any doubt of the exclusivity of the park and it's business model, the attitude of the staff immediately push that doubt to one side, all the staff that l came into contact with and others that l observed and/or overhead were either patronising or impatient with customers.Fantastic place but needs a radical policy overhaul

Our waitress was super helpful and very efficient despite an absolutely packed restaurant. We take our dogs to the park a few times a month because they like it. We always stop at the small cafe near the learning centre. The food is very overpriced but as we don’t use the parking at the park it’s our way of contributing. The regular coffee is more a small & they have stopped doing the reward coffee cards now too. I think this is very mean & regulars won’t appreciate it being taken away. The National Trust cafes are much better, far better value & do have a loyalty offer. The Western is overpriced & pretentious its not a restaurant at all so do you really need to be seated!! Go to a country pub you’ll get better food at a better price. It’s a waste of money and they didn’t need a fourth eating place I think the money could have been much better spent. The toilets here are also not my cup of tea as they are unisex. I don’t want to share a toilet facility with males so I guess I’m old fashioned!!

There are a couple of cafe/restaurants on the property, but the couple I looked at offered the same fare. Choices of both hot and cold sandwiches, soup, and cookies and cake, as well as hot and cold drinks. Went today for a Zoopla brunch which we thoroughly enjoyed and it was tasty and an adequate size, sometimes offers have smaller portions, but not so here. The galleries and exhibits are really nice as we have been many times before, just living down the road. The only gripe we had was the vinegar bottle had 3 small flies floating in it. They couldn't have got in through the bottle spray as it was too small an aperture to climb through. The conclusion I drew was that they must have been in the container the bottles had been filled from. I drew the attention of one of the staff to this at which point they apologised and took it away. She then reappeared and started to remove other bottles, which also seemed to have occupants in them. Although they did miss some of other tables, which we had to tell them about as we left.

Such a disappointing meal! Can't remember having such bad food in a restaurant or cafe. I had fish and chips but the part I could eat was the chips. The fish was covered on batter - unfortunately soggy not crispy. I was hoping for a succulent piece of white cod inside but all I got was a few grey flakes of tasteless fish with a centimetre of strange cream coloured mush on top. My husband and I weren't sure what this was but our guess was uncooked and very thick batter. It was inedible. If that wasn't bad enough, the mushy peas had a bitter aftertaste so I didn't eat them either. The chips were tasty but very greasy and I felt nauseous afterwards. In hindsight, I should have taken this back at the time and complained but my usual British reserve stopped me. My husband's vegetarian stuffed mushrooms with salads was, he says, delicious. Service was friendly and the views from the balcony of the cafe are lovely. My food was appalling though hence the one star. It was extra disappointing as I was looking forward to lunch having eaten here a couple of years ago and enjoyed the food.

We decided to go to the Yorkshire sculpture park for a work around and we took the dogs with us. First of all £6.00 for two hours is a bit steep, yes I know that includes entry as well. We thought we would get something to eat but saw the prices £1.85 for a can of lemonade and £4.00 plus for a sandwich, which would cost about £1.50 in a supermarket, I don’t mind paying to eat out but being ripped off takes the biscuit. Anyway that’s enough of the food. The park itself was lovely and the sculptures quite nice, you do have to get your skates on to get round in two hours, which we didn’t, so we missed some of the park. Would I go again? (silent pause) NO. One last comment if my dogs do a poo and I was to leave it, that would be disrespectful to other people, but We’re expected to walk in geese poop and think nothing of it. Some people would say that different but no it’s not poo is poo.

This one of my favourite walks any time season of the year as all have their special beauties. As we enter into the Autumns short days and see the trees starting to lose their foliage, but although we have had some recent strong winds the many trees have held onto much of their foliage and with the many varied colours give a coloured carpet effect.. The Canada Geese have left and will be back next spring to start their breeding once more again. I love walking anytime of the year and as I have said all seasons have lots of different things to offer.

We spent about four hours here as part of a birthday celebration. Access and parking were good. Although it cost £10 to park, entrance was free. The sculptures are amazing especially as they are set in a country park with a panoramic backcloth of fields and rolling hills. They are often changed or moved around which makes a return visit worthwhile. There are so many different walks available including a dam to cross and a lake to walk round, stepping stones too. There are two cafes on site, a visitor centre/shop and play areas for children. Dogs are allowed on a lead. It certainly makes a great day out in all seasons as it is open most days of the year. Well worth a visit!

Some friends came to visit us . So we took them to the Yorkshire Sculptor Park it was when the poppycock London were moving round the Country. There is lots to see and many sculptures to look at there is plenty of grounds to walk in also a bus to take people down to the lakes. They have a lovely restaurant with good food to suit all pockets.A day to remember.

Lovely food, with good veggie options. However we ate towards end of service and the Yorkshire Rarebit a little dry. Chips gorgeous and good size serving, enough for two! Well dressed salad!

The choice of sandwiches was truly amazing for such a small coffee shop. Good coffee, polite service. No space to sit inside for the coffee shop Ok in the restaurant up stairs.

This place always amazes me and I have been several times. There is a huge amount of land it covers and so many amazing sculptures to wonder at and go near. The visitor centre maybe small but still worth a look. They hold events for families and individuals throughout the year and most are worth going to. You could easily spend a whole day here and still not see everything. The only downside is the car parking and refreshments I find expensive.

What a complete surprise this was for us. £8 car park fee and we were in for the day. Only spent 4 hours here as we were passing through. So much to see here and so much quality sculpture to view. Taken by friends who had visited previously but commented on the changes that had taken place in twelve months. Big area to cover. The inside exhibitions added to our experience. Simply brilliant and so a revisit planned.

Me encanta estar aquí!

Beautiful walks and worth the visit.. Not much of a modern art fan so people need to decide this for them self. But it is fun when you find a sculpture in an unexpected spot. Food is nice if somewhat expensive.

Visited yesterday, very pushy staff. I like time to spend looking but seemed to be pushing too much to buy so went without buying anything. I wont visit again.

Passed by here many times before but as the main part seemed a little run down we hadn't given it a second thought. This time however, We were in need of a break as our journey had been fraught with heavy traffic so we pulled in and were so glad that we did. A very pleasant refreshment stop, with helpful, friendly and smiling staff meant that we stayed a little longer than intended. We shall definitely call in again when travelling this route.
