I have been to this Exceptionally Beautiful Pub before in Wakefield many times. The food hygiene Rating's at this Exceedingly Excellent 5 Star Award Winning Pub have Exceedingly Excellent 5 Star Food Hygiene Rating's. All of the Staff that work at this Exceptionally Beautiful Pub are Exceptionally lovely people themselves. The Owner of this Pub is truly Blessed to own this Exceptionally Beautiful and Charming Pub in Wakefield. I would definately recommend everybody in the Whole World to come and enjoy themselves at this Exceptionally Beautiful Pub. I would definately like to come and enjoy myself at this Exceptionally Beautiful Pub again in The Foreseeable Future all being well.

I haven't been here for a few years now, Then last Friday (31st) my wife and I went in for something to eat, Several hours later and I couldn't get off the toilet because of extreme stomach cramps and diarrhoea. I think it will be a few years before I go again.

Breakfasts are really filling tried to tackle the mega but failed due to having a steak at same venue the evening before. Couple of days later I opted for the standard which was plenty. Friendly staff good choice of dishes and right next to a canal so brilliant views. If I'm up this way again will definitely return.

Took my parents out to lunch. The food, service and location were very good. No real ales at the minute due to some flood damage. Plenty of car parking!

Food was absolutely delicious had a great offer throughout January which will help alot of people with the cost of living crisis.lovely friendly staff clean environment too absolutely recommend.

This review is more for the Wakey wear house in the club absolutely disgusting customer service. The woman you speak to at the desk was very rude. She gave our table away because we was 10 minutes late due to traffic and coming a fair distance away from the pub and didn’t even try to sort anything out when this was for my daughter birthday and 3 of her school friends so they wasn’t allowed in and had to just sit and have a meal with no play gym because the lady thought it was absolutely fine to give are place away.

Play area and couple drinks. Clean and tidy. Reliable place and chilled atmosphere 👌

Always outstanding value has been for years

Food was poor which i didn't expect considering my wives praise during her last visit , we had a very rude member of staff in the wacky who was very strict on rules despite it being dead (had to be out on the dot which has never happened before) and she took our childs desert away because "we didn't respond when she asked if we'd finished" we were mid convo and didnt hear her. when asking for the issue to be resolved she did somewhat fix it but was dismissive and rude and only returned 3 cut strawberrys and not the waffle he had left also. My steak i ordered Medium it was medium rare and burnt alot on the outside which wouldnt of even bothered me if this staff member wasn't so horrid.

Don't visit this place service is atrocious empty pub sat down for breakfast with our small well behaved dog to be told after ordering and getting our coffees that dogs aren't allowed and we will have to sit outside in -8 degrees frozen solid tables and chairs. It's a massive pub on a well known dog walking route by the canal very poor service. We couldn't have possibly have sat outside so had to leave . Will not be visiting again

Just walk into Stanley ferry pub and ordered breakfast, ordered dog sausages and then were told that dogs are not allowed , after I had sat at my table after ordering, It’s -7 outside and I were told to eat outside absolutely disgusting, I will never come here again , Never felt so unwelcome, they had to cheek to let me Oder food then tell me , poor service , definitely one star no signs outside saying no dogs allowed either

One of the nicest hungry horse breakfasts we have had. Not from the area only popped in as it was local to where we were doing business. Staff were so inviting, very polite and made sure to check everything was OK. Food came out hot and quickly. Pub was extremely clean and it's set in a lovely location with views over the little boats on the canal.

Gonna have to be three stars for this food the ultimate mix grill is a joke very small Portion pre cooked chicken was very dry. Kids play zone was ok

Booked a table for Christmas Eve, arrived early and was shown to our table. Steak was cooked perfectly for my husband and I really enjoyed the veggie one burger, finished with hot crumble and custard. Staff are friendly with a good pub atmosphere. Good value for money.

This is my regular place to go to, to eat now. Very easy to order via app, do wish there was a quiet area/time for auitem though. I had xmas roast it was lovely it was missing cranberries though.

Genuinely lovely food with friendly and attentive staff, and a great view of the river while eating and easily accessible for throwing the Missus into.

AnotherTuesday lunchtime, week before Christmas and still quiet. Food ordered via app and not too long to wait took. Few parties in but generally quiet with little atmosphere at that time of day 12:00

Beautiful place, a little outdated, but the food was shocking. Burger was way overcooked, and the chicken fillet tasted cheap, and my partner had fish and chips. She said it was rubbery and gave her a very bad belly, toilet over 5 times, brown rain.... couple of staff hated been asked anything (pullling faces)and I got the feeling they didnt want to be there talking to you!

Been coming to the Stanley Ferry for 2 years now. Staff are all lovely and food is nice.

The atmosphere is really nice and the staff are really friendly. We went.in the late morning to mid afternoon and there was a bit of a wait. There is a large free car park and a children's 'warehouse' on the side of it. There is also disabled access to to property and a lovely view of the canal and the barges and swans as they go by.

8 of us went last night and prebooked a table. It was very busy but the food came out quickly and hot. Couldn't fault any of the food, we had a mix of most things and even starters including the ultimate platter thing which was all spot on.

Had a chicken tikka Naan bread was abit stale but had a nice amount of chicken and a nice kick

We've been twice before so this was our third visit which unfortunately has put me off. I had pre booked a table but was stood waiting awhile for someone to notice we had arrived. I ordered a 2 meat roast dinner and it was awful, the vegetables were freezing cold. The mash was the premade/packet kind which was so thick and clumpy, the roast potatoes and everything else were of the frozen variety and tasteless. The "pigs in blankets" were hard and looked undercooked possibly reheated or again a microwave meal, and not much gravy. Nobody came to check if we was happy with our meals or to see if everything was OK. I could of got a better microwave meal at Tesco 😫 We was waiting a very long time for our plates to be cleared and for the desserts to be brought. The "baked" Alaska with the meringue top hasn't even been cooked. It was sloppy and definitely not the crunchy meringue top it should of been. My sons waffle and strawberries was literally freezing cold like it had come out of a freezer. Everywhere else we have ate or ordered a waffle from has come warm/cooked. £60+ spent and it was a disappointment.

We went here to celebrate my daughter birthday the steak on both meals was rock solid . The Time we got a new peice of steaks the rest of the meal was cold. Children in the middle of the restaurant screaming and shouting all fighting . Horrible experience.

I don’t no how this place gets away with serving such bad quality food! The Sunday dinner yesterday was absolutely rotten, the meat was dry, the roasted potatoes was black burnt to a crisp! The Yorkshire pudding was chewy enough to make your jaw ache! Even the children didn’t eat it. My husband was instantly sick after he’s food!

Place was empty but service still took an age. Judging by the price of a pint though I can tell why it was like a ghost town. £5.90 for a pint. Thought I was in London not Wakefield. Asked what ales they had on and the bartender said none at the minute.

Checked on website to make sure Wacky Warehouse was open but when we got there it was closed for maintenance. So annoying.

My first and last visit. Ordered the beef dinner. When it arrived it was dry,the beef was tough and the mash was clumpy. Not enough gravy. Very disappointed.

3.30 on Tuesday 1 0ct 2024. Would have give it less if I could, only ordered drinks and ice cream on. the app for my grandaughter. Ice cream came, and was finished. Still no drinks. Went to the bar, no apology for the wait, I was gob smacked when the waitress asked sarcastically if I wanted the drinks!

"Large" - Half your drink missing for an over-price £3.20!! 🤯 It's post-mix, you're ripping off customers to save nothing! Literally the the most inexpensive commodity on a bar!🤦‍♂️🙄 **Response to the below** On no planet is 16oz a "large" for £3.20, it's not even a bottle's worth (500ml). Also, nowhere states "16oz", so stating this retrospectively is blatantly misleading. Trying to gaslight consumers who call this out is deplorable. You know you're being dishonest, as do your customers when you serve them this ridiculous nonsense. Get some integrity and objectively assess what you are doing, no one is okay with this out-of-touch and consistently disappointing policy. Even your staff's response of "Oh we know it's terrible, but that's all we're allowed to give." If you believe there's 16 measly ounces in that glass, you need to go to SpecSavers! You're either delusional or dishonest!

Well worth the visit next to a canel with a boat yard and a nice walk down by the canel food is above average and the drinks are spot on lots of offers on through the week

Excellent value for money with their special offers! We both had the very tasty Chicken Tikka Masala with rice, a popadom and mango chutney. It was only £6 each. We paid an extra £1.99 for a naan to share, but the portions were ample without it. We considered ordering dessert but decided we were too full!

Just popped for a pint Guinness was under a fiver . Good for cyclists or walkers . Good indoor or out door menu looked good .

As usual great food & large portions except……only marked down because the Baked Alaskas we ordered were good but the portions were minute, very surprised

We eat here regularly and tonight's meals were particularly delicious. I had southern fried chicken burger meal and my partner had an 11oz steak which was cooked to perfection! Prices paid for both meals were exceptionally good value too! Parking is good and plenty of tables outdoors for those who like to eat/drink al fresco.

Used to be able to buy a whole variety of food on a Saturday. Now only the Saturday special and breakfast. What can I have as a vegan from your menu? Using discount codes have been discontinued in a way so if something is already in a deal no discount available. Why not ? It's worked for so long why change it? Tried ordering a fish less wrap to be told we only do them Monday to Friday, yet couple opposite are having fish and chips and chicken new yorker which is on the pub classic menu. Staff don't know what they are selling anymore so complicated and a waste of time. Please clean the entrance to the pub. Spiders and cob webs put you off as you enter.

Not been for ages, but must say the food was amazing we had the 241 burgers and they were excellent staff were great too well done everyone involved

Monday evening myself and family went to enjoy a nice meal. The place was dead at 6pm food ordered not a problem food came to the table garlic ciabatta was replaced with 3 pieces of cheap baguette. Adult Chicken tikka curry served in a silver curry bowl no more than 1/3 full of dry chicken and maybe a spoonful of sauce and the was a portion big enough for a 1 year old child to be told thats the portions they get bought in. Got told to order something else or be refunded so opted for a refund on that 1 meal. Everything on the Mixed grill was dry and the sausage still white. Not great food when your spending £60+. Second time this has happened in the space of a month, place used to be lovely gone really downhill lately.

Spent some time here on a Saturday afternoon. Lovely pub at the side of the canal but sadly no atmosphere. The queues for food and drinks is madness as only one member of staff behind the bar.

Had a nice lovely walk down sat down at side of canal.

Sat outside in the sunshine, so lovely atmosphere. Had the special Lamb Kofta flatbread which was delicious. Would definitely have it again.
