We had a really wonderful night at The Hare. The food was absolutely stunning and the rooms were cosy and comfortable, with an excellent rolltop bath. Liz and Paul were such good hosts: coming to The Hare didn't feel like coming to a restaurant, it felt like coming into someone's home for a perfectly curated and utterly wonderful evening. Reviews I've seen online don't mention the breakfast: this is an essential part of a good stay, and The Hare delivered the most wonderful tray of goodies to the table in the morning, as well as hot coffee and a good chat. Other restaurants with rooms in the area may be better known, but The Hare is an absolute treasure.

What a lovely place a peak back in time the sandwiches were fresh and had plenty of filling. Then the cakes, had fresh baked scones and cake what better way to spend a couple of hours on a miserable weather wise Thursday, the tea loaf was to die for and the mini Victoria sponges were great( had to save for later). The staff and locals were great and had a good time putting the world to rights. Thanks to all including the lovely local old girl.

Our first time at FortSix and it won’t be our last, it didn’t disappoint at all. We went with family for Sunday Lunch and although it was very busy the service was excellent, there was no waiting around and when the food arrived it was hot and delicious. It is very good value for money, the portions were more than generous, so much so that I couldn’t eat it all (although I did leave a little space for the dessert sharing plate and I’m pleased I did, it was superb) and I never had any more to eat for the rest of the day! Definitely going back.

Just had a 4 night stay at Chestnut Cottage, next door to the Bay Horse pub. The cottage had everything we needed. Very cosy and comfortable. The hosts Hayley and Sam were on hand if we needed anything. We ate in the Bay Horse and the food was exceptional. Great atmosphere and the staff friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend both the cottage and the pub. We will return.

Dom’s Kitchen hosted my sister's hen weekend and they were nothing short of incredible! From the first contact, they were so attentive and provided a full menu of options including sharing style plates and individual courses. They arrived in plenty of time and everything was just amazing. The food was unbelievable and everyone was stunned at the quality and quantity provided. I would recommend Dom’s Kitchen to anyone looking for a private chef for an event - we had 16 guests including 4 with dietary requirements and they were catered for too. Thank you so much for making our night so special!

A canine cuddle cafe is the sort of place one would expect to find in the trendier parts of London which is why it was such a surprise to come across this little gem in Malton. That said, Malton has been awarded the title 'dog friendliest town in the UK.' We just love this cafe where several different breeds of happy dogs (which all belong to the cafe owner) are available for endless cuddles. The cuddles are accompanied by a variety of teas, coffees and home baking. Thalia, the owner, informed us that the venue and a selection of doggies can be hired for children's parties. Apparently an alcohol licence can be obtained for grown up parties. A visit to Malton would not be complete without a visit to Mixmups. We highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

What a lovely little restaurant . Visited with my wife to celebrate our 45th.wedding anniversary . We were staying in Pickering and selected this bistro from reviews on tripadvisor . It is a very intimate restaurant with a small but varied food and drinks menu .The service was excellent with the owner and other serving staff. The home made bread and tapenade as an amuse bouche was very nice . We chose scallops and beef feather for starters .My scallops were perfectly cooked , my wife loved the beef feather which was a suprising dish. For mains I had duck and my wife had steak , both were perfectly cooked and presented , accompanied by perfect vegetables . Finished off the meal with the cheese board , nice cheese , chutney , crackers , grapes , apple and other fruits.Home made fudge was a lovely touch at the end of our meal . We would recommend this bistro to anyone in the area , who would like to enjoy a perfect meal .Thank you to all at the Willowgate bistro for making our anniversary that bit more special.
