A canine cuddle cafe is the sort of place one would expect to find in the trendier parts of London which is why it was such a surprise to come across this little gem in Malton. That said, Malton has been awarded the title 'dog friendliest town in the UK.' We just love this cafe where several different breeds of happy dogs (which all belong to the cafe owner) are available for endless cuddles. The cuddles are accompanied by a variety of teas, coffees and home baking. Thalia, the owner, informed us that the venue and a selection of doggies can be hired for children's parties. Apparently an alcohol licence can be obtained for grown up parties. A visit to Malton would not be complete without a visit to Mixmups. We highly recommend. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

A dining experience. The Chef, Tom, clearly used his skills and knowledge to prepare excellent food which you don't get elsewhere. Service was prompt and informative as each dish was described when served. Enjoy the experience!

Just returned from an outstanding meal at this lovely bistro. The food was delicious and made from seasonal local produce. The service was exceptional- especially the lovely young guy who was amazing. Lovely personal touches of homemade chocolates and fudge after our meal- really not needed but so yummy! We don’t live locally but those of you who do are very lucky to have this in your doorstep. But we will definitely be back as it’s worth a trip just for another meal here!

Called in for a takeaway sandwich on a Saturday morning. Lots of sandwich choice and had a lot of homemade deli items on offer. Staff were really friendly, and happy to make a bespoke sandwich order, rather than off the menu. Sandwich was delicious, and sausage roll was too!

This is our second visit in two days! Lovely food and excellent service. We will definitely come again. We had soup and cheese scone. The bread and scones were home made.

What a warm welcome we got from Sophia when we popped in to the Dawney Arms on a recent trip from Sunderland to York on a bitter February Thursday…so handy right by the A19. Warm log fire, piping hot fish, good helping of chunky chips and peas plus all the trimmings of tartare sauce and lemon slice. It was a speculative call on our part, we just popped in for a coffee but couldn’t resist the fire and the lovely warm feel of this well kept pub. And great toilets, too, by the way, the ladies has everything you could possibly want in order to freshen up…and even has a vase of flowers on the windowsill. So impressed with this comfortable and cosy pub on a random Thursday lunchtime visit, wonderfully friendly service and the food really set us up for the day, thank you so much.
