The best restaurants serving British food in Ryedale Yorkshire and The Humber

I had the seafood basket and my wife had the bunny chow. We both enjoyed our meals. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Would come back next time in Malton.

We visited the hotel and restaurant for an evening dinner and overnight stay. The service was exceptional throughout. The food lived up to expectations and each course was a taste sensation. The hotel room was quaint and comfortable. The breakfast was amazing! You need deep pockets and if you go with that in mind I’ll guarantee you’ll have a first class dining experience.

We were staying in Allerston whilst on holiday and booked for Sunday Lunch on 13th April. We received a very friendly welcome and shown to our table in the dining room,. which was very clean and tastefully decorated. All the staff were friendly, polite and helpful. We both had the roast lamb which was very juicy and tasty and the vegetables were cooked just how we like them. We will be staying in the village again next year and I told the landlady we will return - and that I will stick to one first name so as not to confuse her again when we book : )

We visited this tearoom after while back after a hike and what we had to eat and drink was amazing. The coffee was perfect, which is rare. The food was lovely, I had a lavender scone. A true oasis.

**Worst customer service i have ever received.** I firstly visited to get a voucher on behalf of my grandparents. My grandpa had spoke to them on the phone who said we would have to specially come in for a voucher: as they are not local me and my sister went in. We were told on the day we couldn’t get a voucher that day and would have to come back as there was a private event on later in the evening- we were spoken to in a rude way and simply rushed out the resteraunt. I can understand if they were busy, however at this point there were simply two customers in the premesis. This issue was dealt with over messages in a professional way and my sister managed to pick up the voucher. We thought everything was sorted. However, 2 weeks from this when a booking was tried to be made, I was informed that my mum was told’l Ah yes! Sorry I've been waiting to finalise things with the landlord of the cross keys before announcing publicly what's happening. But yes you definitely will be able to use your existing gift voucher in the new venue. As for time frame, I am waiting to hear back from the architect and builder about the quoted price I'm hoping to hear back on Tuesday next week. From there it should be a couple of months to get turned around!’ She then asked if there was a sistering resteraunt and that this response seemed awfully vague. To this she was told ‘ Not at the moment, I am looking at doing something in another pub in the meanwhile between the cross keys and the new project though!’. The website is now no longer accessible either. To sum this up- uovo no longer exists for the time being and they aren’t sure when the new premises will even be ready to have the dining back up and running. I am just disappointed that the company allowed us to purchase a voucher of £120, most likely knowing the future of the business; it would have just been easier if they had told us this so we could have spent that money with a business where a meal would have been able to be booked. Luckily we have been refunded but the way this was done was even more shocking. The response both me and my sister received was so unprofessional and cold. I am still in shock about the messages we received: my sister was certainly not rude and i know for a fact these messages were sent as they had been caught out for taking people’s money wrongly. I am just grateful we have been refunded. I honestly wouldn’t have felt the need to share this publicly until we received the messages we did today. So incredibly shocked and disappointed.

It would look like I’m beating a drum for this pub! But we keep going back because to be honest it is just such good value. Tried their two steaks for £20, choice of rump, sirloin or ribeye, we both went for sirloin, superb, cooked as we wanted, medium rare, salad, mushrooms, peas, onion rings, and a separate bowl of chips. You must try it! I also think you will find it harder to get a better pint of bitter, landlady told me lines are cleaned at the change of every barrel as well as normal cleaning.

Went in last night very welcoming and friendly family of 7 every meal was fantastic highly recommended 5 star

Had a lovely afternoon tea , staff very polite and couldn't do enough for you , The Grange is very quaint and very well kept , the gardens looked great but unfortunately the weather wasn't its best .

Fantastic food in a warm friendly pub, I think they had 3 real ales on too. I believe it's closed at the moment but I'd definitely visit again when it's back open.

Excellent in every aspect - food, service, environment, price. I had a mini breakfast which was delicious. I usually find one item not to my liking in a breakfast but everything on the plate was top notch. The cakes looked delicious but I was too full to try ! The service was quick & friendly. Pricing excellent. Delightful experience. Highly recommend

Great atmosphere, excellent friendly service by two young women. The ploughman's was huge, delicious and well worth the money. Also had a ham & cheese toastie, with fab chips.

Absolutely stunning place. Amazing menu, I went for the cod and mum went for the traditional Sunday roast - every mouthful was a taste sensation. And pudding!!!! We both had the lime & lemon meringue tart which was the most delicious desert ever!! The ambience as always is lovely, as is the service. Lucy was great, super service. Stopped for drinks with 8 friends (4couples) and enjoyed some great hospitality. Very pleasant and well-organised young bar lady who is a real asset to the pub. Great selection of ales including Theakston’s Best as well as a few others. Very friendly locals and loads of dogs in the bar which was great. Open fire going nicely and a really welcoming pub. The specials menu alone looked fantastic- so much so that we’re coming back next week when we’re in the area again. Great pub - not far off the main road and definitely worth seeking out.

The staff were excellent. The portions a bit on the small side....

We stopped here when we visited Thornton Le Dale on the way back from a holiday on the coast the ice cream is really good and very creamy.There is a wide selection of flavours and staff are lovely and friendly
