The best restaurants serving British food in Colne Valley Kirklees Yorkshire and The Humber

Been visiting most Friday for years with my lovely walking friend Richard has joined his amazing wife Fay & they make the best friendliest team along with the other staff The food is always gorgeous we usually have a breakfast sandwich but recently had hot beef & Fays amazing homemade burgers Lovely drinks hot cold & alcohol. They open TFSS 10- 8 for breakfast lunch & tea ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have had Sunday roast here several times. Always of the highest quality. At least nine veg with the meat plus Yorkshire puddings. Lovely roast potatoes. Would highly recommend.

Lovely little place, so friendly and reasonably priced. It’s not just a cafe but also a shop where you can get party supplies and order birthday cakes. Excellent breakfasts and afternoon tea (think you have to book afternoon tea) and the cakes are really good. My Friday morning choice for a bacon sandwich takeaway!! Last time I went in there I heard someone say they did cake decorating parties for children which sounded a great idea 👍🏻. Don’t let the lack of parking straight outside put you off, park on one of the nearby streets or down closer to Titanic mills and have a walk on the canal before or after!

Been here a few times. Great location and amazing views. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and can’t do enough for you. Lovely wholesome food. Great atmosphere. Highly recommend!!!!

Great breakfast, good quality and good value, we had a couple of large breakfast, one regular and a couple of sandwiches. Pleasant staff. no complaints

We called in on a walk from Slaithwaite at lunchtime. Great personable welcome from the landlord, lovely staff, good beer choice and spot-on food all in a friendly atmosphere. Well done Scape House.

We are regular customers. of Ashbys in Elland so thought Slaithwaite wouid ge equally as good, how wrong were we. Out of a party if 4 , 2 of the meals were acceptable but the other 2 were not, 1 was inedible which was “Beef & Blue”, it turned out to be a minute steak tough as old boots covered in a blue cheese dressing on a dried up bun, I had Greek wrap, chicken was dry and took ages to chew and it just wasn’t good. All meals served with a limp leaves with a bit of dressing. Staff I found surly, definitely not like the friendly helpful staff in Elland. Won’t be going again, and wouldn’t recommend

Good value for money, high quality and very popular!

We had the 2 course Sunday special and it was amazing value for money and very tasty. We selected a starter and a main each for £12.95, the protions were massive and we all struggled to finish our mains.

Great Sunday roast and great value for money. Service a little slow hence the 4 *… Veg cooked to perfection and all very tasty! We had chocolate brownie for dessert and that was equally as yum! Will definitely return ☺️

I had the cheese n onion pie, it was worth the visit. The staff are very friendly.

A huge thank you to Jerry and the team for an outstanding funeral / wake service. From the initial phone call to enquire, to the preparation and the actual service, I felt completely reassured and welcomed during a difficult time for my family. Catered for vegans, old people, young people and must say, the selection on offer was fantastic. Veggie lasagne went down a treat! Also, the bar staff were really friendly and the pub was clean, welcoming and we had control of the music too. When you've got lots on your mind, having someone like Jerry and the team at The White Swan make things so much easier. Would highly recommend for funeral activities or just coming in for a pint, bite to eat and a chat.
