Very poor!!! How can you order gluten free fish & chips when they never answer phone or very rearly have gluten free batter mix. Even though they advertise gluten free fish & chips available.

Amazing fish and chips. Tasty curry sauce. Amazing prices. Very pleasant and friendly staff. No need to go to the coast any more for our lunch. All fish cooked to order in beef dripping. Yummy!!

Like many fish and chip shops, this place started off really well. Adults in charge, setting a high standard, did a nice refurb, building a good reputation then - over time - the owners/grown-ups must have thought, "this is a lot of hard work, let's get some kids in to help". And the kids were doing a good job while the adults were still there and the standards remained pretty high. So the adults thought, I'm guessing, we can just leave the kids in charge now... Why does everyone make this mistake? This place was class, but the last three or four times we've been, we've noticed a distinct downturn in quality. Undercooked chips, greasy, poorly coated fish etc. Chippy owners: kids do not care about your business. They have no pride in doing a great job and maintaining quality. You're paying them minimum wage, after all - and if they're between 18 and 20, that's nowt. What do you expect? Last straw was our last visit where the order was wrong when we got home. Missing sauce, but extra chips. Bonus, I guess? We suspected it would be as the girl taking the order was clearly *not* paying attention. Anyway. Suppose we'll have to start looking for a new chippy.

Absolutely appalling service from the staff, such a slow service paid by card and waiting 15 minutes for food at which point I asked for a refund, only ordered 2 portions of chips and one customer in front, dont waste your time or money going, rude ignorant slow service

Great plants flowers ect, staff never to busy to help with advice, abundance of knowledge on just about anything gardening and environmental. What shouts out to me as someone who is lactose intolerant they are the only place in Huddersfield where you can always rely on them having Vegan Magnum Oh! Yes!. No, I have never had any intentions of ever growing up. So there you have it.

Came at around 5pm on a Saturday. Chips were really fresh and the fish was huge, definitely could have fed the two of us. Fish made to order and really tasty.

Great food, service and price. The only downside, for some people anyway, might be that their chips aren't vegetarian. In my opinion that's what makes them taste better though!

Great fish and chips etc. even gluten free options, but if you're veggie or vegan it's probably not for you, there is a sign saying everything is cooked in beef dripping, but ask, there may be veggie options too. The staff are nice and friendly.

Unreal chip shop beat chips ever by far

Have recently moved from Cumbria to Tameside, and have had difficulty finding a good chippy. shop is new refurbished and really clean, Fish and chips are really nice and I can't say a bad word about it, the kids deals are reasonable too, this is the third time I've been since the new opening and been consistently good, keep up the good work!

First try after refurb. Verdict is that it's better than Yorky's was at the end... but that would not be hard. They're trying, but there's much room for improvement. Shop immaculately clean and redesign very welcome. Fish nicely cooked, batter tasty but falling off. Coating needs to be consistent. Chips soggy, pale and undercooked. Curry sauce watery and tasteless. Mushy peas a solid mass. Say they cook in beef dripping like that's a badge of honour rather than an indication of being stuck in the past. It's a competitive market and prices are high, so excellence will be required to thrive. Probably won't be there a year from now if this quality doesn't improve.

I think they are by far the best fish & chips I've had in Huddersfield for 35 years a tuch dear at £5.20 but very good and they do kids meals and they cook the fish when you get there
