The Heathfield Farm in Kirklees

Maisie is so welcoming when ever we call for a meal and today she was just the same, friendly, courteous and attentive when placing our order and willing to advise on options and/or alternatives. The meal was served very quickly, the food first class and super value for money.

Beef and ale pie was good, however, needed to add loads of salt to mash and vegetables to taste as they were very bland. It was good that they have child free area.

Great food and lovely service but let down by the sparse kids play area. It used to be a lot better, with a climbing frame etc but it's been taken out in favour of prize machines and a few bits of activity board. Disappointed.

Absolutely amazing, I have a nut allergy and the staff was amazing I haven’t eaten out for years but today I took the plunge which was a massive step for me, I will definitely be coming back again thank you so much to Beth for being patient and understanding and Katie xx you should be proud of your staff

It was ok but the carvery was just luke warm. Unfortunately, some of the vegetables were almost finished. And the sauces were all finished, apart from a bit of apple sauce. Had to chase up the puddings which were brought out by a nice, friendly girl.

This is a very nice spot for dinner has a nice selection of food and tastes amazing.The wait isn’t too long only problem is it is quite loud and is busy most of the time but that can’t be helped.the staff are very friendly and helpful.

Three toilets in the ladies, one had an out of order sign on, one didn't flush and the door lock was broken so only one usable ladies toilet for the whole place. San Miguel pump was lit up but we were told by one staff member that they didn't have any San Miguel and by another that the barrel wasn't linked up to the pump - so why not put a towel over the pump so people know it's off? I ordered chicken tikka masala and it was more like soup with a few measly bits of chicken in, the mango chutney was tasteless and the rice was hard. It was impossible to eat the curry with a fork so I asked the waitress for a spoon, she went off and never came back so I had to ask another waitress. Two of our party had the fish supper and both were disappointed with the size of the fish, disliked the sausage and said the scampi was tasteless. Two of our party had the carvery and they enjoyed it. Overall the food quality was poor. The staff were obviously very busy but customer service was not their main priority and two of them were brusque to the point of rudeness. Nobody asked us if things were ok. We won't be going there again so felt there would be no point in complaining even if we could have got hold of a member of staff.

The food here is absolutely superb, we have never had a bad meal! We've actually started going regularly as the carvery is beautiful; the meat is always fall off the bone tender, veg is beautifully cooked and the staff are attentive with nothing being too much trouble. I am quite a fussy eater, but we choose coming here as there is something to suit everyone and they are always happy to make any changes needed. Where do I start with the deserts?? The cakeaway option from here is devine and they are all absolutely beautiful, delicious cakes! Would definitely recommend here if you're passing and want a beautiful carvery with all the trimmings, or even just calling in for a cake to share when you get home!

Came here for breakfast with my daughter. We don't go out to eat often but decided to treat ourselves. Staff were nice but that's about all I can say on the positive side. The buffet food was not good at all. Scrambled eggs literally under water in the bowl. Over cooked fried eggs so the yolk was hard, sausages were undercooked too (even my daughter left hers as it wasn't nice, which is rare), there was only seeded bread pre-toasted in a bowl at the end of the buffet which was rock hard. I asked if there was any white bread and one staff member said yes, only to be quickly corrected by another who said no, the only toast is the stuff that's out. Once we had our plate of food, I went for a coffee. No milk was out so a staff member said they'd go get some. A few minutes later they came back with another pot of coffee instead (which was labelled 'hot water' and which another customer then poured on their tea bag without knowing it was actually coffee). Another 5 minutes go by (while the food is getting cold at my table) and I asked the same staff member if there's any milk as yet and they replied they'd forgotten and they'd go get it now. Coffee wasn't worth the wait as it was very bitter. I ended up leaving it after two sips. No hot chocolate available either, so ended up with a glass of milk which my daughter said tasted funny so that was left too. Just not a nice experience which didn't make me want to return for breakfast unfortunately.

Food was very nice and adequately proportioned. Felt satisfied with my meal. Staff more importantly were very attentive and efficient. Would come back again👍

Half of menu dissapeared. Where has tex mex burger gone? Seems this place has had too many cutbacks. I ended up having the hunter chicken. The chicken breast was half the size it used to be.

The staff were friendly from the moment we walked in. All had a carvery, excellent value, with more than enough food. Child's meal was value for money.
