Superb lunchtime visit. The meal was so good that I did bothe4 ti take a photo. There was no way the dog was having any of mine. It was worth the walk as well as the cost.

5 pints of Farmers Ales Blonde - but sadly had s light taste of vinegar to it and the consensus of the 5 of us was that the beer was off. Being British we mumbled and didn't say anything at the time. Our bad. The welcome was friendly and I am sure if we had had the guts to say something the beers would have been changed. Shame as it looked like a nice pub and from what we could se of the food that looked wholesome.

Had one of the best meals out at this Inn for a long time. We only had a selection of starters as we weren't that hungry but managed to get a table on a busy day and did not regret it. Even the view from the pub was amazing. Plenty of car parking helped too.

Came in without a reservation on Sunday afternoon with the kids, but they got us a table. Fantastic views over the valley, lovely welcoming traditional pub inside. Well-kept Black Sheep on tap. We had roast turkey which I have to say was one of the finest roasts I've had in living memory. Perfect Yorkshire pudding, turkey was melt in the mouth. The kids meal as well was excellent (I tasted a bit), pizza and chips that were fresh to order, no microwaved nonsense here. Will come back when in area, only disappointment was the dessert order was not taken in time and we had to leave as the kids were getting tired. I was sorry to miss the sticky toffee pudding which judging by the rest of the food would have been delightful.

Visited this pub situated high above Slaithwaite, in an area known as cop hill, with outstanding views down the Colne Valley 26th March 2022. Booked online asking for a table at 2pm in the bar area and were not disappointed. We stayed until 8pm with some friends and we were made very welcome. A fine selection of wines and beers. Also good varied selection of food. We tried the small plates, selecting three to share between the four of us as a starter. It was superb. You could quite easily double this up as a main course sharer for four or as you wish. For main our party had roast beef dinner, burger and Cajun chicken hanging kebab, all of which satisfied and was very good. Easily enough food and very reasonably priced, we also found the service from a young staff was very polite and attentive at the table, the bar man very kind to deliver drinks to the table all day. We had a good day and a nice experience in fabulous surroundings. Thanks to all at the Rose & Crown Cop Hill, Slaithwaite. Your efforts were very much appreciated.

We booked in for an early evening meal and despite being in the middle of nowhere on a hill above Slaithwaite, the views were stunning, the service was warm and friendly and the food was exceptional. We chose the hanging chicken skewers which were superb although we probably could have had more than was offered on the plate. Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience and will be returning again when we get the chance.

It is not often that a landlord will come to sit at a table, have a chat, borrow a walking guide to copy for the pub, introduce one to his friends and shake hands upon leaving. Steve is the perfect host at his spectacularly situated pub. I would ask that when business picks up, sandwiches appear on the lunch menu or more than one veggie option is available as I want to go back and take other people. The sausage and mash was much better than mime but please could I have a choice. It is a great drive up to Cop Hill but worth the effort of walking to meet the cheerful staff at this family run establishment.

Went for lunch, my wife had the fish butty and I had the roast beef with onions and gravy. They were brilliant, a lot of fish and beef, and very tasty. Great ale on tap, what more could you want?

The setting of the Lantern Room restaurant at the Manor House is beautiful. We were given the table in the window, perfect for two people. When we were given the menu the staff explained that there were a couple of extras on it at the beginning as amuse bouches. There were three of them and also some wonderful sour dough bread. These were free. The three very different mouthfuls were exquisite, with the blood orange and trout being our favourite. The sable biscuit was so light. We ordered the crab starter and the mackerel and then both had the line caught sea bass for main course. Both starters were intricate and beautiful to look at with the taste being fantastic. The blend of gooseberry, apple and mackerel was amazing. The quality of the line caught sea bass was first class and the chef did not disappoint in the cooking of it. Absolute perfection. Our evening was made special by the wonderful food, atmosphere of the place and the attentiveness of the staff, so big thanks to all concerned.
