Great breakfast, good quality and good value, we had a couple of large breakfast, one regular and a couple of sandwiches. Pleasant staff. no complaints

There was more butter and mayo in the tuna mayo sandwich than actual mayo. The thought of it makes me feel sick

Sadly this type of cafe has nearly become extinct. Unpretentious high quality honest food. Fantastic welcome as we entered and a fantastic breakfast was served. Clientele from across the whole spectrum. Would highly recommend

Walked in, no atmosphere no greeting fromThe staff. Sat at a table most convenient to us which had plates on it still from the previous customers. Waitress went and cleared an empty table first before clearing ours, which I would of expected ours to be done first. Didn't even get to try their food as we walked out after the poor customer service we received.

Good food at the Cookhouse Cafe. Busy in town on a Bank Holiday but luckily found this cafe. Food was good. Big sandwiches and great chips (old fashioned deep fried) - lovely. Will be back.

We call in here prior to the football match for a pre match breakfast , always good quality and great value.

I had my breakfast here with my husband. I was a little reluctant and wanted to go somewhere else. However I have to say it was fantastic. Eggs were perfect, bacon was delicious. A perfect hangover cure!

I regularly visit this cafe and am still astounded to how good it is. Food is amazing and fresh and very reasonably priced. I highly recommend their English breakfasts. I will be returning.

Este pequeño café es maravilloso. Nada sofisticado por dentro, pero la comida es excelente y abundante. El personal es muy agradable y amable. Tuve granos en tostadas con una porción de tocino y Scott tenía el gran desayuno que era enorme y de buena calidad. Cuando en Slaithwaite no me pierda la oportunidad de tomar el desayuno en la cafetería. Lo recomiendo.

Food very good and cheap. Good service but only a little cafe so not a lot of room. Their breakfast range is lovely and their take out sandwiches are lovely.

I live quite nearby, so calling here for anything other than a take away sandwich is rare. The bacon sandwiches however are fine, cooked fresh and have plenty of filling.

Have visited several times and the standard of the food and service has been consistent each time. Simple food, well cooked and very good value.

Visitamos el nuevo Café Cookhouse ayer, que también ha pasado a ser mi cumpleaños. Nos habían decidido pasar el día caminando durante todo el año para quitarse Slaithwaite unos las telarañas y abrir el apetito primero. Después de un agradable paseo por el canal nos llamó por la Cookhouse Cafe para el brunch y quedamos encantados con la comida muy bien preparada y el servicio. Nada era demasiado, el desayuno era absolutamente impecable y todo estaba excepcionalmente limpio, cálido y acogedor. No puedo alabar este lugar lo suficiente. Segunda vez hemos estado allí y si cualquier cosa, incluso mejor la esta vez. Bien hecho todos por hacer que mi día realmente encantador.

Always a pleasure to eat here. Lovely surroundings and very clean. Food is excellent value and beautifully cooked. No plates full of grease here. Staff are friendly and efficient. The only minus point is they don't open while 8 am! Especially if you want a sandwich on the way to work! Nevertheless......Quality Cafe.

Came here a few months ago with my boyfriend and a friend - they ordered a full English and I have the veggie option - the table we sat at was not cleaned after the last person ate at that seat and my cutlery has dried egg or something yellow on it. I'm not really into other people's food on my fork. I would try this place again but I would inspect everything that was given me!

Want somewhere to go for breakfast in the Colne Valley? There are a couple of good choices - but The Cookhouse Cafe is definitely the best in Slawit. That's not faint praise either. The breakfasts are nicely cooked, really good value. Breakfast is all we've ever had here - but I'm always impressed to see the other menu items on offer are all good old fashioned fair at affordable prices. Proper meat and two veg dinners, sponge puds and custard and so on. It's always clean front of house at the Cookhouse - and they've got five stars from the FSA - so I feel confident eating there. Very happy to recommend it.

This little gem is simply not to be missed. The staff are friendly and very welcoming. The food is delicious and cooked to perfection. The choice is varied and extremely good value for money. The breakfasts are especially good, and not a spot of grease anywhere. I can't recommend this lovely cafe enough. Get in there......You won't be disappointed.

well 8am saturday morning on the dot they were open , great service great breakfast cheap price. lots of choice and nice surroundings. great location near the rail link canal and bus route. free newspapers to read. nice decor. overall great place

I went in yesterday during the Slaithwaite Moonraker Festival as they had stopped open later than usual.I had a lovely steak pie and chips.Proper home made pie and chips with a large tea for free and only £450 which is a coffee price in some posh places!.The owner asked if I wanted free onion gravy on both as well after I ordered.I agreed and when it came it she had also included lovely onions in the gravy.I also saw the next table tackling what looked like a great breakfast.Interesting choice of meals and sweets.Spotlessly clean and beautifully run.kids meals done as well.I will definitely eat here again and wish them well.

It's not often you find a place that will draw you back again and again but The Cookhouse does that with bells on. The food is excellent and very good value. The staff are happy to help and are very friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is really good with lots of banter between staff and customers. I always look for the hygiene rating nowadays and this cafe is rated a 5 so I know that cleanliness is a very high priority and I can't fault it in any way. Can't recommend The Cookhouse highly enough. The only drawback is that its a 40 minute drive to get a breakfast or lunch but well worth it!!! Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

A great café! The owner is very polite and friendly and the food is also excellent, both takeaway and eating in. The café itself is totally spotless! Always clean and tidy with the daily papers to hand. A lovely place if you just want a bit of quiet breakfast on your own. I would highly recommend this brilliant café.

A little treasure found up a little road off the mainstreet near the packhorse bridge, very friendly staff. Very cheap prices. Tea one pound. Toasted cheese 1.80. Classic plastic table clothes. Free newspapers to read, ambience was great.
