The best restaurants serving British food in Colne Valley Kirklees Yorkshire and The Humber

Been visiting most Friday for years with my lovely walking friend Richard has joined his amazing wife Fay & they make the best friendliest team along with the other staff The food is always gorgeous we usually have a breakfast sandwich but recently had hot beef & Fays amazing homemade burgers Lovely drinks hot cold & alcohol. They open TFSS 10- 8 for breakfast lunch & tea ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We have had Sunday roast here several times. Always of the highest quality. At least nine veg with the meat plus Yorkshire puddings. Lovely roast potatoes. Would highly recommend.

Lovely little place, so friendly and reasonably priced. It’s not just a cafe but also a shop where you can get party supplies and order birthday cakes. Excellent breakfasts and afternoon tea (think you have to book afternoon tea) and the cakes are really good. My Friday morning choice for a bacon sandwich takeaway!! Last time I went in there I heard someone say they did cake decorating parties for children which sounded a great idea 👍🏻. Don’t let the lack of parking straight outside put you off, park on one of the nearby streets or down closer to Titanic mills and have a walk on the canal before or after!

Cosy restaurant, ideal for lunch with vino. Unique crafted menu differentiate Nom from the crowd. Friendly & professional staff. I will be back.

Great local place for some delicious burgers. Friendly and attentive staff and very freshly tasting ingredients. Will definitely come here again.

20 mins to get 3 kids meals. Chips cold. Everything very greasy. Really disappointing and not to the usual standard from there. One person asked for a refund as he'd be waiting too long. Girls were prioritising taking an order over getting the food out. Seemed to be no change in the till either so they were raiding what I presume was the tip jar.

After reading great reviews we came here for a birthday meal. Firstly we were unfortunately sat next to the door leading to the toilets, which smelt like constant piss wafting past. Oh the food 😢 I had Sunday roast no option of chicken, just beef or pork. I settled with the beef, I wish I hadn't, it was so tough and full of gristle I couldn't eat it. The potatoes tasted like cheap frozen ones that were hot but really hard in the middle, my mum's potato was so big it was raw in the middle, not sure what happened to the Yorkshire puddings it was chewy and it had such a strange taste to it that I couldn't eat it. £18 per meal and I only ate the vegetables. Extremely disappointed and definitely won't be coming again. Oh and you might want to look at the coke dispenser as everyone's were completely flat. On a better note the apple crumble was lovely I just wish the rest was. We did think it was strange though how no one asked us how the meal was, maybe they already knew?

I popped in half an hour before my train departure. Four other diners in there. I ordered a bacon and egg sandwich. 25 minutes to prepare. In that case, something cold, a chicken salad sandwich. On return from the kitchen, the waitress explained they couldn't do that either. I've eaten there before and the food was fine. They seemed to be concentrating on a huge takeaway order. I had a pork pie from the butcher's.

Great breakfast, good quality and good value, we had a couple of large breakfast, one regular and a couple of sandwiches. Pleasant staff. no complaints

We had the 2 course Sunday special and it was amazing value for money and very tasty. We selected a starter and a main each for £12.95, the protions were massive and we all struggled to finish our mains.

Absolutely love this place. A fabulous walk up from Marsden or Slaithwaite followed by fantastic views, a great welcome and great food and beer. Loads of parking and a brilliant place to take kids and dogs as there is loads of grassy outdoor space for them to safely run around.
