Maisie is so welcoming when ever we call for a meal and today she was just the same, friendly, courteous and attentive when placing our order and willing to advise on options and/or alternatives. The meal was served very quickly, the food first class and super value for money.

Just been for coffee (and cake, of course!) with my elderly mum. The Dancing House is a lovely venue tucked away in a lovely setting, with a really interesting history. The coffee was excellent and the homemade cakes were delicious and generous portions. The service was friendly, accommodating and efficient. Will definitely be back for more! Thank you

Came for Lunch today 2nd October for 3 of us. Have been here for drinks before and was impressed then. Today we opted for food as well off the early bird menu. Pumpkin Soup and Mackeral pate to start which were all perfectly presented and tasted wonderful and freshly made. The mains of Bangers and Mash , Steak and Fish and Chips were again beautifully presented and tasted divine. Service was excellent, relaxed informative and unobtrusive, served with a smile by the 2 guys on front of house. £22 for a 3 course meal is nothing when you are getting top end gastro food and service to match. We travelled from Huddersfield today. Well worth the journey and many more for a superb meal. Thank you very much for a fantastic meal today and we look forward to our next visit.

We were seated quickly in a pleasant room. After a shortish wait we ordered 2 sandwiches, a portion of chips and 2 coffees. After a long wait the coffee arrived but was only lukewarm, I asked for another one that was hotter but the waitress seemed confused, eventually we got replacements which were slightly warmer but I didn't want to risk complaining twice ... The food was delicious but the chips were plonked down with no offer of vinegar or sauces, not even salt. After rugby tackling a passing waitress we asked for vinegar which was deposited on the table but with no comment or question about whether there was anything else we wanted. At no point did anyone ever come back to the table to ask if everything was alright or did we want anything else, which considering it is table service and not cheap, I would expect. We are still here wondering how on earth we pay as we have been finished for at least 15 minutes and are still being studiously ignored. Maybe if we get up to leave they might notice us. To summarise food lovely if expensive service atrocious.

Visited this pub last night with some friends who live local. It’s a gorgeous village pub and the staff and customers are really friendly. I was made to feel really welcome and would definitely recommend this pleasant hidden gem.

We had not been to this Ikea for over 2 years so it was a complete shock to see how much this restaurant had deteriorated. We waited over 30 minutes in a relatively small queue . Once we got our meals, we proceeded to pay, where when we arrived, we were told to go to the next till as she was going in her break! We had to rejoin a queue on the other side, where we were then charged for a drink we didn’t have and 4 extra meatballs we didn’t have! The till lady then told remaining people behind us that she was also going in her break and to join the other till where no staff member was?!? Head office need to do something asap

In the past this was a popular destination. Fish was fried when you went in and portions were good. Times have changed. 17 year old youth who said he worked there 44 hours a week. No apron,no chat,no customers. Place was dirty. Fish and 12 cold chips was nearly £9. Total rip off. No receipt offered so I couldn't check. The place was cold, dirty, and dismal. Won't be going there again.

We met with friends at the cafe at Blue Hills Farm this morning. The experience we had was almost out of a comedy sketch and we ended up walking out after receiving refunds for what we had ordered. A regular of tea and a decaf tea were ordered. A cup of, tea (complete with teabag still in it) was almost bounced on he table. There was no saucer, spoon or milk supplied. We were told that there was no decaf so did we want anything else. The 'waitress' then walked off without waiting for a reply. Also, we tried to order an all day breakfast with one of the other members of staff. We were asked "large or small?". Having replied that we didn't realise there were two to choose from and asked what the difference was we were told "One is a bit bigger than the other". There was another customer group of three who had ordered and already been served with their food. They also commented to us upon the bad service. We have never felt so unwelcome in a cafe before. Ironically there was a 'Welcome' sign at the entrance to the cafe. Needless to say, we won't be returning.
