Never got to eat. Was told the cook had gone to Asda, and when she got back the friers had to be turned on and would be at least 45 mins. We had a look at the menu, only 4 main courses on there. We walked out and went elsewhere. This was 2pm. Terrible service.

Food cooked fresh, Yorkshire puddings first class. For what it cost you can't go wrong. We definitely go again

Absolutely spot on, we had funeral do for mother in law and I can't praise the staff and food enough. Thoroughly recommend.

Great food and reasonably priced.. Book early for Sundays as they are very popular. Karaoke on Saturday night and other entertainment during the week.

Nice welcome. Very clean and tidy well run traditional establishment. Plenty locals in there when I popped in one Saturday afternoon.

This pub is very good. You can play billiards with your friends. The TV was working and showing sports. The music is apparently played by various bands. Very good service. I highly recommend.

Called in on Friday and it was fairly busy,they also sell basic bub food.

Owner and staff are lovely, we arrived at 7.45 looking to eat but due to a function the kitchen had closed early, but they went out of their way to rustle up a couple of toasties with trimmings.

Not for the real ale drinker only had one. Fine if you like karaoke 🎤

Sunday Lunch was superb, all freshly cooked, arrived hot, tasty and nice sized portions, woukd recommend a visit.

As a drinker it's not the pace to be on a Sunday 👎

Lots of space and decent music on.

2nd visit.. 1st was drinks only. Today we went for lunch. FAB.. Loved... the food.. home cooked real roast pots and the whole meal was great. I had cheesy sauce mushrooms yum ! My other half had prawns yum we both had roast beef / pork.. we had the best sunday lunch in a pub in 10 years.. fab value .. cant rate highly enough. £ today was £ 14. 95 for 3 courses.. pud was GOOD ❤ five stars from me. Ps also so friendly and cosy xxxxx

We went for sunday lunch .. it was lovely .. REAL roast potatoes no frozen stuff .. the whole meal was very good and good portions. Starters and desert were great .. totally five star . We will definitley be going again. Reccomended. I should also say its a cosy friendly place with lovely helpfull staff.

How disappointing! No where near enough staff to be doing table service. Waited over an hour for food to arrive & when it did it was pretty much stone cold and the quality wasn’t great either. I believe it is under new management however it is still the same old dingy atmosphere. What a shame!!

We all decided to go for Sunday lunch the bar man was very attentive polite and couldn't do enough for us good warm friendly atmosphere drinks arent too expensive the Sunday lunch was nearly £10each there was 6 of us we were really disappointed 4 of us had lunch 2 had hot roast sandwiches the bread wasnt as in menu but a bun to put a burger in not a ciabatta as in menu we were all very hungry so ate it have you changed the cook we will come back

I had a great Belgium beer and then some fantastic black sheep, both fantastic. Service was great and it’s quite a nice little place. The kitchen closes at 7pm, maybe only on a Sunday, so I ordered the gammon, egg and chips. Chips were frozen, as were the peas, gammon over cooked as were the egg which was cremated. Good bar for the beer, just avoid the food.

Friendly staff, Sunday roast awful as everything on the plate was bland and the gravy was like water.

Nice pub with a great atmosphere and a large selection of beers. In the pub you can listen to music from the 80s. Very nice bartenders, they are happy to talk to customers. All you have to do is show up once and they will definitely remember you.😊 Outside the pub there is a garden where you can sit on warm evenings.

Eclipse collect food staff couldn't be more helpful. Celebrated my 50th here and was a fantastic night.

Thought would give greyhound another try, as poor 1st time went. Booked , then got call saying kitchen closed half hour before we were due to arrive. Will not attempt to go again. Make no wonder car park always empty.

We went to the Greyhound with the intention of having a drink. Ended up being tempted by the menu. Glad we were, gorgeous food, tasty beer and brilliant service, all at a reasonable price. Couldn't fault it.

Just moved into birstall and thought would have a walk and try this pub out. Not disappointed at all really friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, san Miguel on draft absolutely spot on. Although we didn't eat the Sunday lunches being served looks fabulous and the pub was really busy for food too. Looks like we have found our local and will definitely sampling the food.... watch this space. Well done greyhound birstall cracking pub👍

This is now our main eatery. The food has come on leaps and bounds since the new owners took over. Have to say after our first visit we vowed never to go again ! Now, what a difference, something has changed, we won’t go anywhere else locally. Luigis was our only choice but last time there our experience wasn’t good. Try the Greyhound, you won’t be disappointed 👍👍

Drive past this pub a lot . Could not get in our first choice so decided to try here , wow so glad we did . Lovely Sunday roast dinner, massive yorkshire pudding lovely select of vegetables, mash and roast potatoes. Nice roast beef , can't fault it . We both had chocolate brownie and ice cream for dessert, delish. Can't fault the place good service from the staff the music is really good as well. Try it out you won't regret it 😊

I have drove past this place a million times and never thought of going. A friend suggested it & i was pleasantly suprised. The menu choice is weak but the food is lovely. The steak was good quality & the pies look good. The portions are decent sized too. The decor of the pub was suprisingly nice & warm feeling. Thumbs up, i would visit again!

Popped in for a late Sunday lunch with family, 5 adults easily fitted in. Some choices of meat were not available but it was later on. Good sized portions with enough vegetables & lots of gravy. Good choice of beers too.

Lovely, hearty Sunday Roast dinners, Yorkshire pudding is definitely the "Star of the Show"... The desserts are beautifully presented and taste as beautiful as they look. Oh, and they have my husband's favourite beer on draught (Birra Moretti), which is a big bonus. Every change they've made in the past few months have always been for the better. The staff is always so friendly and accommodating.

Went to celebrate our aunties 80th birthday. The food that was supplied was excellent and lots of it. The service was very good the girls behind the bar were very efficient and gave great service. The surrounding are very comfortable, clean and tidy. Access from both entrances is great. The only down side was the toilet facilities there are no disabled toilets and the ladies are not very wheelchair friendly, not good when you have two older ladies both in wheelchairs. Not much dignity having to use the loo with the door open. The young man who I asked about a disabled toilet was quite apologetic about not having one which was good . apart from that a lovely little pub.

Just been and tried the new menu and it was lovely! A lot of happy diners in there too. Give it a try. Good pub grub reasonably priced with great service

Often pop in for a couple. Fish and chip Friday's was great, bring it back please. Current menu less than average. Also, sort out the pub music for God's sake, an assortment of utter random rubbish is played quite loudly. People come to a pub to relax!!!!

This is a lovely little pub for popping in for a drink or two and is very accommodating to families. Having eaten here in a couple of occasions the food is exactly what you would expect for the price. Perfectly acceptable but nothing to write hope about. Great for a quick pub meal but not somewhere I’d choose to go out for a meal.

We are regulars at the greyhound, and we enjoy the food more often than not. This Sunday we went for the three course menu and enjoyed the starters, garlic mushrooms and loaded nachos, both really nice. The Sunday beef dinner was average. I think you need to pick a better cut of beef because it wasn’t overcooked it’s just really poor quality meat which is a shame its hard to cut and eat, very chewy not nice at all. It says honey roasted carrots/parsnips on the menu and there was no taste of honey and they were rock hard. I think some better quality beef and more attention to detail could make it go from average to a really good Sunday roast. The raspberry cheesecake dessert was lovely and the service was good too.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE , went at 4-30pm ordered our food , no one else eating and the 2 meals took 50mins to come quite some time for a 5oz steak and a beef sandwich. I really think the chef needs to go back to cookery school and also learn what should come with each meal , steak was asked for med-well and came med-rare , should have come with sautéed mushrooms and twice cooked chips, came with skin on fries and over cooked flat mushrooms , also the beef baguette should come with a jug of gravy it was non existent. Not somewhere I will be frequenting again and not somewhere I would recommend !

Nice pub only 5 minutes from home. Never been in before but surprised how big it is inside. Draught beers available and a decent size car park. Didn't try the food but looked good.

Called for dinner , as I’d been week before and enjoyed . Ordered a soup and a main ham Sunday dinner. The dinner was nice ,and a good size portion , service was polite and not slow. Only down point was the soup was very salty, although I do have a keen taste of salt as I haven’t put salt on or in any food for over 20 years . The pub has a nice relaxing feeling during the day ,never been at night.

Me and my partner visited on Friday about 6pm. We was greeted with 2 smiling faces and friendly ‘hellos’. Being a real ale fan I asked for tasters of the ales available, and picked a really smooth blonde. When we said we’d like to eat we were seated and had our drinks brought to us. I chose a chicken dish and my partner asked for one a mushroom starters but as a main course, which they happy agreed to. Both our meals were excellent, and we stopped for a couple more drinks afterwards. If you have never been here I would highly recommend that you give it a try. There are not many places with a combination of good inexpensive food, a well-kept cellar and friendly and welcoming staff. We will be back, that’s for sure.

Had been meaning to call in for ages. Managed to get there tonight, part of menu 2 for £12 a good choice and also for the rest of the menu if you want more choice. They also have lighter options. We had chicken pasta, plenty chicken great taste, also hunters chicken lovely taste with home made fat chips 👍and fab bbq sauce. All cooked fresh, hot and tasty. Will definitely call here again well worth a visit.

A nice sunday roast for a good price with a good selection of fine ales.

Called today for Sunday lunch today, 1/7/2019. Food delicious, traditional home cooked Sunday roast. Staff extremely helpful, friendly,and couldn't do enough for you. Definitely go again. I want to eat that dinner again already lol. Well worth a visit. Ample parking,and disability access

Ordered suet beef pudding came with watery mash and nothing else. What happened to a healthy portion of carrots or peas!! Very overpriced.

Hasn't changed in forever. Very run down. The one star is for the friendly barmaid.

We went for Sunday lunch having heard a lot of good things about the pub since it was taken over.

Came here for first time in November as a family and although the menu is quite limited we were really impressed with our meals. One of the party had the haddock which was a real whale and very nice. All other food really nice and good portions. We recommended it to a few people .Decided to come again today ourselves and have to say we felt a bit let down. The fish was half the size of last time and not quite as nice and the chicken pie was rather burnt on top and watery inside. Deserts were disappointing too really. Nothing worth complaining about but nothing to write home about either. Not sure we feel quite as enthusiastic about it now or as inclined to recommend -sorry ! Sort of felt it was maybe a different chef than when we last visited three months ago.
