Had Fabulous meals at our family birthday party of 10, lovely warm and welcoming pub. Excellent food, coffee and desert options. Luke our server was attentive and really helpful. One of the nicest pubs around.

This is a favourite when eating out. The atmosphere is so welcoming. The food is always good and the service is excellent. Emily served us most recently and she was lovely with a friendly and positive attitude. You can also take your dog booking in the doggy dining area. Love this place.

A fabulous pub with delicious food and amazing service. Mandy and Luke could not do enough for us and made a family meal really special.

Food was lovely, service exceptionally slow and soup served in nicely chipped bowl with a side of clingfilm! They clearly saved theirbest china for another table!

We were greeted on our arrival and shown straight to our table and provided with menus by a charming member of staff, all going well. A second member of staff to our drinks order and food order. The same member of staff brought our drinks, still going well. That's were it ends, our starters arrived served by a third member of staff. One starter of 3 did not arrive and had to be re ordered. 2 starters were supposed to be with chutney. the first one came with Mayo and the late one arrived with chutney. A fourth member of staff brought our mains which were fine except for cold plates which meant that the meal was cold before we finished them. When we had finished we were asked if we would like to see the dessert menu but this didn't arrive and we had to ask some 20 mins later for a dessert menu. This was brought by a fifth member of staff and our order taken. The coffees arrived but no desserts arrived. We drank our coffee. After a further 20 mins without the desserts having not arrived we asked for the bill. A final sixth member of staff arrived with our bill and realised that we had not had our desserts so apologised and brought our desserts. As we left we had to go to the bar to pay as there was not a chance of us getting any service at the table. There seemed to be no shortage of staff but no one was leading any of the team and they just seemed to wander about and not follow up or complete any orders. The meal in total took some 2 and a half hours to be served and with my mother being 95 was a long time for her to be seated.

Came for lunch with my friend and daughter. Our servers Joy/Grace were so attentive, but not intrusive. The food was really, really nice. I always plonk for fish, but gammon won this time. It did not disappoint, so nice. We all enjoyed our meals sooo much. I know I've been to Foxglove a few times, but never knew there were so many rooms and cosy corners!! We will definitely be back as it really is a gem of a place.

Foxglove is a gem of a place to visit in Huddersfield. The setting, atmosphere and service is excellent as is the menu and drinks choice. My fiancee and I went for evening meal and was greeted by Mandy who has to rate as one of the most personable servers we have had anywhere for some time.ba real credit to this venue. We had the turkey pie and lasagne which were both perfectly cooked and very favorsome. Good portion size and great value at around £15 a dish.

Our server Mandy was wonderfully accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We enjoyed our meals very much and also the lodging was terrific. We would visit the Foxglove again for sure if we visit the area.

Emily served me today. It was lovely, I had sea bass and it came with some scrumptious broccoli. Fabulous service and Emily was highly attentive and very helpful, sure to come back one day. Highly recommend.

Lovely night out with my partner and his cousin service was lovely by Lewis and food was amazing very attentive would definitely recommend. The pie of the day was excellent!

Perfect location for the purpose of our trip

Had a really lovely experience at The Foxglove. The staff are all really friendly and the service was great. I have been a couple of times before and I can also highly recommend the breakfasts! Will be returning!

We stayed here last night for a family members 86th birthday. The interior of this old place is just great, very relaxing and tasteful.. The evening meal was just perfect, gorgeous food..The rooms were very comfortable, and we had a great night's sleep. Disappointing that breakfast isn't included at £134...Just one downside. The exterior grounds, are somewhat untidy, the whole place needs as good sweep and some fresh plants in the pots, which had only weeds growing in them. The beer garden also desperately needs a good tidy..All in all a great stay..oh just a mention of Grace, you were just great ....thank you ..

The burgers everyone had were lovely apparently but the chicken snizel was rock hard overcooked and the batter or whatever it was was awful and sickly. Small portion of chips and a few dry leaves of salad. Service at bar terrible. Took ages to get served despite plenty of staff and took ages for food to come also. Most staff were smiley, friendly and helpful but one wasn't coping too well and when I asked to be served was very stroppy and her face visibly irritated. If your not cut out for high pressure food and drink industry maybe rethink career. This was in first 15 mins of visit so gave bad unwelcoming first impression of the service. I had been waiting at least 10 minutes to he acknowledged. Customer should come first. It's the career you chose. Don't feel the food was value for money and anything but the burger I wouldn't bother.

Absolutely love the vibe in this pub. All the staff are amazing. But specially Jordan. Top bar man and did everything he could to ensure we had an amazing service 10/10

Spotlessly clean, nicely decorated rooms providing a quiet peaceful night's sleep. Given 5 stars as got a great room rate. Ate on our first night, given good service by Mandy, enjoyed our meal. Would recommend

Served by the lovely Mandy,the food was great and the atmosphere relaxed.Was very busy for a Wednesday but not too loud and the service was very efficient and friendly. Definitely worth a visit if you haven’t been before.

Such a mixed experience. We booked a couple of days ahead for 3pm Easter Monday. When we arrived it was not busy. We were shown straight to our table & ordered drinks. So far so good. We asked for a few minutes longer to consider our choices and when the server came back he said " right guys - countdown time" and we were rushed from there on. My starter prawns & chorizo was seriously dry and so was the lightly toasted bread. I asked for butter and it came, but the waiter said I'll get you some MORE garlic and parsley butter with that" - huh - there was none to begin with. Hubby's pate was fine however ( but still no butter?) Then, we'd barely put our cutlery down when the mains arrived. Mains _ the puff pastry lid on hubby's pie was so anaemic (undercooked) it needed medical help. He did his best with it because the mound of whole carrots( these were not babies) served with were so unattractive. He says the mash was good. My seabass fillets - fillets OK but the skin oily and flaccid -ugh. Took them home for my cats. Couldn' t detect the sauce they were supposed to be served with and the so called crispy potatoes were not. A mite undercooked really but not inedible. We asked for a dessert menu but by the time it came and the wait we had for them come back to us, we' d lost the will to live and just asked for the bill. We were just gonna leave paying for what we'd had plus a small tip for servers but somebody asked ' was everything OK?' Er, no. She said we could do a refund but I refused - we paid for what we ordered and little more for the pot, but won't be tempted into going back. Shame really as we were recommended to try it by relatives and if it had beèn even OK we would have gone mob -handed.

Lovely Sunday lunch today, could have been warmer but extra gravy compensated. Staff were friendly and helpful and atmosphere good. All in all a very nice lunch. We will be back, thank you.

Great staff …food was terrible.. undercooked only warm … my calamari was frazzled rest of families meals Sunday dinners were only warm .. I think it must have been just a bad day to be honest as there were a lot of meals going back … there are plenty of good reviews on here so we WILL try again another time

Enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch. Deffo be going back

We were warmly welcomed, shown to our table, served our drinks, albeit limited selection on draft ales, and order taken all efficiently. That was the best part of the evening. The food overall was good although as can be seen from the picture the lasagna was burnt around the edges. My main issue was the service we received after our meal was served. There was no follow up, no asking if we wanted more drinks given that our glasses by this time were empty. Then after we finished our meals 20 minutes further elapsed before a server came to see us. We would have ordered more drinks and sweets but given the poor service did not want to prolong it further.

Been here before. Lovely relaxing environment. Ideal for meeting friends, for food and drinks. The staff are always welcoming, friendly and happy to help. The food is always well presented, and delicious. Always 'save room for a pudding' though because the chocolate brownie is devine. Will be visiting again

Every time I visit there is a friendly welcome and plenty of comfortable places to relax and enjoy a nice lunch or tea. The dog is always a welcome visitor too and that makes it even better. The deals make things a bit more satisfying as meals out can be an expensive luxury

It’s a nice pub but it’s be ruined because they have put a game machine in the lounge area and in a nice quirky restaurant. I am disappointed by this decision made.

A mildly disappointing experience. Waited over 45 minutes for starter to arrive. Starter plates weren’t collected before mains delivered (almost another 40 minutes later). The food was lukewarm, and my passion fruit soda had bits in the bottom (not intentionally). Nobody asked how anything was, nobody cleared the table and overall just a long wait for mediocre food, and no service.

One of the best pubs in the area, lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, great food. We’ve stayed in the rooms before and recommend them to any family or friends staying over. Had some fantastic meals there and love going for a full English breakfast on a weekend! Had our first visit today since Matt took over and it was even better than before! Highly recommend

Popped in with my daughter for a change in our eat out Thursdays routine, Food was lovely, cute little open fire, lovely place and kind staff will definitely be returning, I'd argue its our new little quite favourite so far spot thank you, -- i can't add 2 reviews or I would, this is our second visit and still as good as the first

Really reasonable room for the price. Only reason there isn't 5 stars is because the shower wasn't powerful at all. Mandy and KG were really helpful for breakfast.

Christmas Dinner. Service staff were excellent, professional.and friendly. Starter was good 4/5 Main Christmas meal was adequate whilst the quality was above average. The addition of Mash potatoes would have been appreciated. The portion sizes were disappointing. One yorkshire pudding, small jug of gravy, 3 roast potatoes. 2 very small pigs in blankets. Seasoning tasteless. No cranberry sauce 2.5/5 The wait time bewteen starter and main course was 30 minutes. Sweet was a disappointment. The pudding was tasteless and the sauce was custard and tasteless. Did not match the description. 2/5 of the pudding being 'soaked in rum' and 'thick brandy sauce.' The atmosphere and pub was festive Main positives staff particularly Lauren. Atmosphere. Negatives, waiting time of Main, portion size. Sweet.

Great Christmas food and service.

Beautiful place and the staff are fantastic. The young lad Mark was very polite and a good server.

We came at 11am for brunch and got 2 full english breakfasts which were amazing!! The hash browns were my favourite, probably the best i’ve ever had! The customer service was incredible, and the atmosphere was so homely and welcoming :)

Big shout out to Mandy Eve and joy they made our visit amazing really went out of the way to make sure we had a great Christmas dinner the food was amazing and the service was fast and efficient

The belly pork was excellent and cooked to perfection. The service was friendly until we complained that 2 of the 3 Christmas puddings were literally burnt to a cinder inside, seriously blackened. We weren't charged for the coffees, I guess as compensation but I would have preferred a nice Christmas pud.

Wow yet again another good stay the staff are so helpful and will do what they can to help the rooms are very clean it’s just a shame the rooms need updating the bar people josh joy and laureen so nice bar staff and the hotel cleaners will help and are very good people helpfully thanks to mark and his team we look forward to coming back

At 18.00 on a Saturday night and thay had run out of 3 of the starter's and 3 of the mains I won't be going back and o the garlic mushrooms r microwave 😮

Stayed here for a family birthday locally. The room was better than expected. Clean and comfy. There was some bathroom fan noise from adjacent rooms but the timer is short. We did sleep just fine though. We tried some bar food which was excellent and the staff were pleasant and very helpful. There was plenty of room in the car park and you can park near the rooms.

Took advantage of a Black Friday deal. Beautiful food, lovely setting with a friendly ambience. Served by Mandy who provided excellent customer service. Thanks, will be back soon.

Was passing through Huddersfield for a business trip back in late October and stopped over here shortly. Really nice place with a good menu. In particular, a big shout-out to Jordan. The young man delivers top notch service with a smile and was a joy to talk to!

It was excellent, but a step up on the chips, serving a bit extra. Understand that a profit has to be made, but these are chips.

From stepping in to leaving every member of staff we encountered were polite, friendly, helpful and mostly efficient. The food was excellent quality and flavourful and the portions were generous. Took a little while to receive all the drink order but to be fair it was busy. Overall, our experience was excellent and the pub has a lovely atmosphere.

Have visited a dozen or so times over the last 2 years and eaten here 6 times. The pub is nice, the fires are always lit and it feels warm and welcoming. The staff are always polite and courteous and pleasant. We ate here last night and shared a starter and pudding, I had chicken curry, nice sauce but the rice was very gloopy and the chicken strips were so over cooked/cremated it was hard to eat. Partner had the sea bass which was just ok - but a very small portion. The best part of the meal was the shared Sticky toffee pudding. Between us we had 2 medium glasses of wine and 2 cokes - total bill £70. If charging these prices the food really needs to be pretty perfect which unfortunately on this occasion it wasn’t. Then when paying I had 2 vouchers (£10 gift voucher & a free drink voucher) both in date - but told we could only use 1 per visit - which seemed very strange as this was not in the terms and conditions ?? Will probably return for a drink but unlikely to eat here again as the food was quite disappointing and a bit too pricey for what it was.

Worst eating experience here, definately gone down hill and this is why. We arrived around 7pm and hadn't booked so didn't know if we would get it. We didn't have to worry, the place was half empty. We stood inside waiting for someone to attend to us. After 5 minutes, we went over to the bar and waited another couple of minutes to even get an acknowledgement. We asked for a table of 2 and the young an, standing at the booking screen had to turn round and ask if there was a spare table (the place was half empty). He then looked at the screen and lead us to a table. On the table, the customary candle was left unlit and had seen better days and needed replacing. It was never lit. This shows a la k of standards and leadership from management. We placed our drinks order and waited for our mains. I had the trio of meats and my wife the beef. They put one small bowl of veg on the table, enough for one person. The parsnips appeared boiled, not roasted and not appetising at all, I didn't eat them. The beef was full of fat and grisly, hard to cut through so cheap cuts of beef used. The roast potatoes were hard to cut and appeared undercooked. The pork had no crispy layer to it but I had asked for extra crispy pork which I got in 3 narrow strips. I ate half my meal. There was absolutely no ambiance where we sat. Only background music that could be heard in the distance was around the bar area where a couple of staff were standing, might as well have been in a church. The whole experience was nothing like the Foxglove when it was run by LOUISE, who ran an excellent experience for the customer, leadership now is dia. Certainly wouldn't recommend a visit here until be changes in the way its run, it was lovely before, give this a big miss or expect to be disappointed. Not worth £35 of the £65 we were charged.

Very nice ambience here. Came with my husband, daughter and grandkids. Was a very busy Saturday evening so noise level was a bit high but the food was quite good. We did wait a long time for the food though. All in all. A good experience. Very friendly staff. Unique setting and facilities.

Not been to the Foxglove for 3yrs. Amazing warm welcome on arrival, great drinks & food offering & our server Mandy was amazing. She had all the customers eating out of her hand! When offering my QR code on requesting the bill, what is remembered as having a loyalty gift of a complimentary drink, had changed to a £10 off voucher!!!! Great experience & we Will defo be back.

Comfortable rooms with a nice gastro pub attached. Slightly pricey for what's included but great location for exploring the local area. We would stay here again.

The staff at the Foxglove were helpful and friendly. The hotel part is billed separately to the restaurant, but we had breakfast included with our stay. Breakfasts are varied, well cooked and did not disappoint. The restaurant is one of the Vintage Inn group and as such provides their typical menu. We ordered meals on the first night; which were served by Mandy and always with a smile despite the challenge of a group who appeared to ‘mess’ her about. On the third night we ate at the restaurant but chose to sit by an open fire and eat a mixture of starters and side orders. We enjoyed all of the food and the attention given to us by all of the staff. This is a place that we would stay again if visiting the area as you could not fault the northern hospitality.

Mandy was AMAZING! Lots of us and she managed so well and made us laugh. We come here because of her! Food was good as well.

Visited with family, the restaurant was quiet. Waited a while at door to be acknowledged. We got seated but then waited 15 minutes for our order to be taken. Main meals was very nice. We ordered desserts which took 40minutes to arrive we had to chase the desserts. Overall the service let it down and there was no customer focus that day. We will not be rushing to return.
