Great stay, staff really pleasant.always made to feel to feel welcome. Grace in particular was really attentive. Would definitely recommend.

We had a wonderful weekend there celebrating a wedding nearby. Slept well in an unknown room. Best breakfast ever. Best service ever. Came from Europe and needed basics. 99% were right available. For the rest the staff googled instantly and provided perfect help. 🫶👍🫶👍

Enjoyed a 4-day vacation at The Foxglove, the room was really comfortable, meals in the restaurant were of the highest order staff were really friendly and attentive, couldn't have asked for a better short stay highly recommend it 👍

Beds are a bit hard to sleep in. Restaurant very good, Grace our waitress and bar person was great, nothing was too much trouble for her.

Nice old pub feel and great food

Called in out of the blue with my daughter (5 year old) for a Thursday night tea because I didn't feel like cooking, as soon as we walked in and saw how nice it was I thought it maybe wasn't the place for me in my work clothes but before I could give it a second thought we were immediately made to feel welcome by Grace who was absolutely fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed, the food was top quality, I had the hunters chicken schnitzel which was exceptional and I liked that the kids meal was of the same quality as the adult meal which isn't always the case in a lot of places. We will definitely be visiting again as the food and service were excellent and I hope we will be served by Grace again

Absolutely fantastic place the only let down was the bed was a little bit harder than expected however it was fabulous the food in the restaurant is exquisite i'd definitely recommend it to everybody.

All 4 meals and desserts ordered were beautifully cooked with good quality ingredients, which is helpful as we both suffer from stomach/ disorders but had no trouble in the days following the meal. Also portions very generous. The staff are very helpful and provide excellent service, offering boxes for some desserts to take home when we were still full from the meals. The Foxglove is also a beautiful building with history that is set with amazing views of the surrounding countryside. It would be nice to return for a meal in the outdoor area once the weather warms up. Overall we cannot give the Foxglove and staff enough stars, really would recommend a visit. Thank you so much.

Excellent service by Grace, attentive, friendly and efficient; she even showed us around the pub after we enquired about the dining areas. A bit disappointed in the Sunday lunch, although it was tasty, for almost £19 the Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes seemed to be bought not homemade.

We go a lot to the Foxglove, and quality/ standard of food is very intermittent. Sometimes good, other times cold, or overdone. Sometimes very disappointing, other times excellent, bit of a lottery ..

Ate here two days in a row as the first night was so good. Burgers (excellent) and mini puddings (delicious, and just the right size - why don't more places do these??). Returned the next day and had Sunday roast - had turkey which was excellent, really tender, lovely veg and we had a side of pigs in blankets, also tasty.Great service , really dog friendly, can't recommend it highly enough.

We stayed at the hotel and it was all good. The meal at the foxglove however was a massive let down. We ordered from the valentines set menu, which already had limited selection. I was served a cold seafood starter which was unappealing. We both ordered surf and turf, which had a £5 supplement charge. Several tables around us had already complained that the steak was very poor quality, which we agreed with when ours arrived. It also had no prawns and no roast tomatoes as advertised. We asked the waitress and she said she’d go and check with the kitchen. She then never came back and proceeded to clean up the tables around us whilst ignoring our request. When she was clearing our table we mentioned the missing items again and there was just a general lack of apology. Eventually, they deducted items from the bill, which was appreciated but overall there was a lack of responsibility and we felt the waiting staff had been massively thrown under the bus by the management and kitchen. Overall, the food was poor and the service matched that.

Okay so this is a very very mixed review. Room lovely. Great service for food. Bar service okay... bit slow and not really bothered. Our main problem was the food ... dreadful ... bland ... like bland bland ... no flavour ... no vegetables and just completely lacking which is a real shame as it had the potential to be really good ... please sort yourselves out guys ...

We called for lunch, good choice on the menu, their website says dog friendly, the facilities, were more treating dogs like VIPs, a stack of dog water bowls available & a large water dispenser, rugs & blankets. The dog who was with us only complaint was no toys but who wants a dog playing & running around when we're trying to eat, once we'd explained that he was on board again. Food was great, large portions for lunch but great value.

Lovely place, great food and plenty of choice of drinks. Very polite and friendly staff. Nice rooms to stay in for the night. Plenty of free parking. 2nd visit and stay over for us, and we plan to stay again

Just popped in to have a Sunday Lunch at the Foxglove in Huddersfield. First time we’ve visited. Was lovely in side, real fire burning on a snowy day. I had a beef and partner had the pork. Both was lovely, with right amount of vegetables and Yorkshire pudding, but the Pork was the best I’ve ever tasted, anywhere. Will go back just for that. everyone was really friendly and helpful, from the manager and especially Grace. Will definitely visit again..

Had a wonderful New Years Eve meal and celebrations. Live music was fab with Anna Milne on guitar and vocals. Her set was mellow with lots of great covers. Perfect for the evening atmosphere. Our New Year's Eve menu was lovely see pics. The chocolate Orange dessert was spectacular! The flavours! Hope they keep making it!! Staff were lovely too.

We had a wonderful family lunch here Sunday 22nd Dec, two adults and two tweens. It's probably been over 20 years since I visited The Foxglove so we thought we would venture somewhere further afield than normal and it didn't disappoint! It was busy with festive gatherings but not overly crowded and we were greeted by a really friendly server and shown to a lovely table in the dining area. The atmosphere was really cosy and our server Tom was really helpful, checking dishes for us and even bagging up a doggy bag afterwards for our dog Rupert back home! It was really nice to see that even though it was busy there were plenty of staff available which meant they weren't rushing around or leaving anyone waiting for ages. The meals themselves were delicious, all came out together and piping hot which was really good! My wife and I had starters of Paté and a mushroom fondue which were really tasty (the paté was particularly good), then for mains the kids had the signature burger, I had their pie of the day- chicken and pancetta, and my wife had the trio of Sunday dinner. There was plenty of food for all of us, well worth the prices and it was all really delicious, not a single complaint from the kids and our only negative was the parsnips on the Sunday lunch could have been a bit smaller(!) Also the beef was a little tough. Overall though just a really pleasant meal out for us all before Christmas shenanigans start. Will definitely be going back again! Can't give any rating for the rooms as only dined.

Staff were very warm and friendly. Room was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. We had a family room and both beds were exceptional. We are on the pub and food here was also lovely. Breakfast was pricey but it was delicious.

The Foxglove is a cosy place with love for details. The bar, with its hospitable style, open fireplaces, and cosy equipment, invites you to linger. The food is excellent and the service is top. The rooms are clean, tidy, and well equipped. Breakfast is freshly prepared and offers a wide enough choice. All in all, I am very satisfied and have a clear recommendation.

its always a pleasant atmosphere when we visit but this was our 1st time in the evening and it was just lovely . the staff are excellent ,making sure the fire was burning , taking orders when they noticed we had finished drinks . after finishing our meal we asked for the tab to be moved from our dining table to the sofa area and they were very accommodating. will be calling again :)

The breakfast took 30 minutes to arrive, it was inedible, uncooked, looked like someone had a bad cold and emptied their sinuses over the plate. Never again.

Six of us there last night for our grandson's 8th birthday and served by Grace. She was fabulous. Polite, friendly, helpful, courteous and professional. We all said, that was the best service in a restaurant we had received in years. And the food was great too.

We visited on Wednesday as a party of 8. Even though we arrived about 45 mins early our table was ready and as always we were not disappointed by our visit (this isn’t our first time at The Foxglove). Grace dealt with our chaos fantastically! Needless to say we didn’t make her life too easy (numerous members of our party shouting ‘soup’ at her) rather than adhering to the usual structure of politely going around the table giving our orders. Needless to say she stayed composed, we had a good laugh with her and she was an absolute credit to the business throughout our stay. As always we just wanted to share our amazing experience, and show our gratitude. The food is always exquisite, the portion sizes are more than enough, and the overall setting of the environment and polite professionalism of staff is always fantastic. As mentioned above, we’ve been here many times before and we’ll be back again in the near future! Thanks again to Grace and the rest of the team whom were on shift!!

Didn't stay overnight but had a meal for daughter's graduation. Lovely food, great atmosphere and service from Grace was excellent.

Two nights with breakfast (even full English breakfast included) to complete satisfaction. Rooms clean and spacious, staff very friendly, pleasant and cozy atmosphere. Highly recommended. The only suggestion for improvement: offer postcards for tourists 😉👍🏼

We had recently travelled from Australia to Yorkshire to spend a couple of weeks with my Aunty who is elderly and disabled and our trip to the Foxglove was the only time she could get out of her home. The red headed girl did an amazing job of looking after the 3 of us so much that my Aunty gave her a five quid tip. My wife, Aunty and I were most impressed by the service and quality of the food we will be there again next year .

This was not a good experience. We had previous attended a wedding reception there and were very impressed. But this was so different. We were excited about going but the reality was very different to our expectations. On arrival, we were shown promptly to our table and a drink order was taken. However this took ages to deliver. On delivery a food order was taken but this took over an hour. The waitress tried to explain the delay by saying that a large party had come in and every table was being delayed. Then the meal arrived and what a disappointment. My potatoes were under cooked and hard as nails. My vegetables were overcooked and very stringy and hard to cut. My meat was slightly better than ok and passable. At the end of my meal I did notice that ic the other six people in our party, most had left large portions of their meal. Overall, a very disappointing couple of hours, a very poor meal, and an experience that will be long remembered. I would not recommend your facility to anyone.

Really pleasantly surprised! We booked a one night stay to attend a wedding in the area and the Foxglove was great. We were greeted warmly, allowed early access to our room to get changed and the room was spotless and comfortable. We didn't book breakfast but decided we had time after all and were rewarded with some of the tastiest and generous bacon butties we have ever eaten. Thanks for a great stay

Stayed overnight and used adjoining restaurant for dinner. Food was excellent. Generous portions and hot. Staff were great. Breakfast was perfect. Manager was lovely and chatty.

Ate at the restaurant and mediocre was probably too good a description. The pancetta and chicken pie was tasteless, had no ham and looked like a typical ‘Brakes Brothers’ pre-prepared and warmed up meal. Like airline economy class food. Same for the veg which were also tasteless. My companions had aubergine gratin which was ok but ‘gloopy’ and duck/hoisin pizza which was the most edible. Service was good, quick and polite. Not going back there anytime soon

Hannah and the team at dinner were amazing, friendly and approachable. Food was very tasty and not over cooked so nice one chef. Area is quiet and just a brilliant location for a garden drink after a long day.

Lovely food. Nice and rustic. Plenty of toys to keep the children entertained. Hannah served us and was very attentive. Only thing that stopped me giving a rating of 5 was the small selection of bitters. For a Yorkshire pub, I’d have expected at least 5 different taps.

Had the pleasure of staying and eating at the Fox Glove for a second time. The rooms are a good size comfortable and clean. The food and service is fantastic. We were a party of 9 celebrating a birthday in the private room Grace was very understanding and patient and the food was yummy.

Booked this hotel mainly because the room sizes were a decent and the price seemed reasonable. As a lady who likes a bath I missed having one, but a lot of hotels these days don't offer baths. The staff at the Foxglove were excellent, friendly and helpful. The Innkeeper information, says no WiFi l, bonus there was wifi, although it was hit and miss, but as I wasn't expecting any, I can't complain. We ate in the resturant and the food was nice, a bit pricey, but not unrealistic for the market it's aiming at. Would visit again. Well done to Matts Team.

Sunday roast is unrivalled, absolutely delicious. Nice range of starters too. Service perhaps slightly on the slow side but not enough to complain at. Please being back the banoffee pie desert. It was my favourite and I miss it!

Just home from another lovely meal at The Foxglove, we were attended to by the lovely Hannah, who was extremely professional and courteous throughout our meal.
