Just been for coffee (and cake, of course!) with my elderly mum. The Dancing House is a lovely venue tucked away in a lovely setting, with a really interesting history. The coffee was excellent and the homemade cakes were delicious and generous portions. The service was friendly, accommodating and efficient. Will definitely be back for more! Thank you

We stopped off for lunch while passing through Gomersal on a Sunday afternoon and we’re pleasantly surprised that The Dancing House was open. We had a great experience with friendly service and good prices, the chilli jacket special was lovely and tasty as was the Italian meat panini. Will defo be calling if we’re passing again.

This unusual venue used to be another name but the antiques always took priority over the customers. Wow what a fab change. Smiling staff serving lots of tots in the refurbished garden area on a warm day. Interesting new menu with loads of choice meant we did not feel rushed to order. I was able to order a large cafeteria, with choice of coffee strength. My wife her usual pot of tea. Nice crockery. My order of a triple decker sandwich was excellent but my wife's order of boiled eggs and crispy bacon was just brilliant. A first, she eat everything , well nearly everything , I actually had to sneak a taster. Wonderful bap bursting with perfect bacon, no rind or uncooked bits, spot on eggs and clever mix of salad. I may go on but how often are sandwiches mundane. These are superb. The three ladies working here all smiled and made us welcome. An added advantage is the vast range of cakes for afters. I'm a simple scone jam and cream man which helped me to finish my superb coffee.

Met a friend for lunch and wanted somewhere comfortable and could talk, this fitted the bill with really good food and service. Soup was delicious and cakes are to die for plus tea served in bone china. Roaring stove on a wet day with vintage furniture without being twee!

I regularly attend The Dancing House for breakfast while my daughter dances in the dance school upstairs. I've also attended a baby shower recently which was well-organised and delicious! Staff are always attentive even when busy and the food is great and prices reasonable. On a nice day it's lovely to sit out in the pleasant garden which is family friendly with children's toys.

The Dance House Café is a very welcoming, clean, cosy place to have a Deluxe Tea and Cake experience. It was the first time Linda had made the particular type of Victoria sponge that day and it was scrumptious, the butter cream and icing were lovely and the cake very light indeed. The Rocky Road was chewy in all the right places! The neat little sandwiches were a real treat. I almost forgot we had the sandwiches recalling the tasty treats, but yes they were very fresh and assorted. We had been asked what fillings we preferred so nothing was wasted obviously. The experience had been a treat from family and that is what it was. The large tea pot was refilled without hassle and Linda was the perfect hostess though it was getting busy nothing was too much trouble, so THANK YOU. The place is full of nostalgic stories and photos of famous and dancers generally. I managed to get a photo of the grand piano in the corner and managed not to ask to play it! I'm doing well! If I lived in the area I would re-live my dancing years, join up for all the adult Ballet classes, tap class and even try the line dancing again, just to finish off in the coffee lounge and enjoy the atmosphere and the cake obviously! A REAL TREAT well done everyone and the young lady who bagged up our leftover cakes to bring home. YUMMY.I overheard it said that they try and help out if people have certain allergies etc so do ask if you ring to book .Go Try this worth a visit if only passing through. Car park at rear. Website for further information about children's activities and all classes listed on cards on tables.

Great little place to take the kids for breakfast. Very child friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Food was nice, did come out slowly, my husband had finished his just before my food arrived. One waitress a bit overbearing, she asked my child what was wrong with his food as he wasn’t eating, He’s a faddy eater at the best of times and the lady wouldn’t let it go. Would defintley return again

Called for a light lunch and cuppa. Such potential and character but badly let down by nonchalant and disorganised staff. Long wait (not busy) for food. Then teapot came without tea; then the milk was off and another 15min wait for replacement. Finally had stewed tea 20mins after ling awaited sandwich had been eaten. No apology just the feeling we were a bother rather than the badly done to customers! Shame as place is nice enough and has potential but personally i won't be troubling them again. Bad show all round.

What a beautiful place this is. Afternoon tea for adults and children. Food was brought for children before adults. A massive hit with most parents. The food was amazing. Little details on the children's afternoon tea made my daughter's day. She had cakes, fruit, salad, sandwiches. Also a picknmix variety of sweets dressed around the serving plates. Served with a little milkshake. The sandwiches for adults were tasty, delicate and flavoursome. Tuna, cheese, beef, ham, salmon with cream cheese, all served with salads. Delicious. Not forgetting the homemade coleslaw in shot glasses. The attention to detail was sublime. Coffee pot ( large cafetiere) and tea pot ( with decent tea bags). The accompanying cakes were lemon drizzle, coffee and walnut, chocolate brownies. This was also coupled up with the largest, tastiest scones. The clotted cream and jam were delicious and plenty to go around. Price was low for what we were given. This was a visit for my mum's birthday. She was very impressed. Outside area is great for children. I would visit again.

My friend and I had breakfast last weekend sat in the garden at the back of the café. What a lovely spot. The service was excellent. The menu gave enough options for us both, it came presented very well and tasted delicious. We will both be back and we would both thoroughly recommend.

I booked this place for a group of us friends meeting up after a while. Our table was in a spacious corner with the table all set up for us. The afternoon tea treats were delicious and the orations very generous. There was a very good variety and the tea and coffee were topped up a sand when we needed. Nothing was too much t it keeps at all.

What a find! Tucked away, as part of a dance school (opened in 1910), this cafe has a wonderful “homely” atmosphere. The food is delightful and the service is amazing. I can think of no better place to while away an hour or so on a lazy Saturday morning.

Called on a Sunday with a group of hungry but picky cyclists. Loved it. Half of us had coffee and cake, the other half had cooked food. Pleasant and prompt service, reasonably priced. Came in the middle of winter so no chance to use the garden but will certainly return. Never knew it was there even though it has a main road frontage. A wonderful find.

Called here for lunch with our son and two grandchildren. We sat in the garden so that the children could play. Our food arrived very quickly, was delicious and very reasonably priced . I told the young lady serving how much we had enjoyed our lunch and her service. She obviously went straight in to tell the lady who had made the food and she came out to thank us for our comments.

We went for lunch here. As it was very hot we sat out in the garden. I loved watching all the children and babies playing on the toys provided. The food was freshly prepared and was served by a very helpful young lady. There was lots to choose from and we both really enjoyed it. Good value for money and the outside space was well cared for and a definite bonus.

They may have changed the name and be doing changes to the surroundings but the staff still can't do enough, the food is still fantastic and there are some changes to the menu. "Him" loved the club sandwich, although I'm still hooked on " the best panini in Yorkshire ". The garden has really come into its own with the glorious weather, plenty for little ones to play with. There are also all kinds of classes on offer. Toddler dance and sing on Thursday is very popular. Details are available at the counter.

The setting of the Lantern Room restaurant at the Manor House is beautiful. We were given the table in the window, perfect for two people. When we were given the menu the staff explained that there were a couple of extras on it at the beginning as amuse bouches. There were three of them and also some wonderful sour dough bread. These were free. The three very different mouthfuls were exquisite, with the blood orange and trout being our favourite. The sable biscuit was so light. We ordered the crab starter and the mackerel and then both had the line caught sea bass for main course. Both starters were intricate and beautiful to look at with the taste being fantastic. The blend of gooseberry, apple and mackerel was amazing. The quality of the line caught sea bass was first class and the chef did not disappoint in the cooking of it. Absolute perfection. Our evening was made special by the wonderful food, atmosphere of the place and the attentiveness of the staff, so big thanks to all concerned.
