popped in for a takeaway brownie for the kids, the owner is so friendly, helpful and passionate about his business it is a pleasure to see. Deserts are delicious but very naughty...will definitely be back to eat in. A refreshing change from the countless faceless coffee chains.

Our first visit here having won some vouchers We live in Shelley so it was a nice ride out for us. Friendly warm welcome the atmosphere was lovely lots of couples eating and a birthday party. We ordered drinks and starters which included mozzarella with grapes pesto and walnuts delicious my husband had the asparagus and scotch egg which he loved . We both ordered the Sunday lunch which was the best Iâve ever tasted in any restaurant we are a big family and usually eat at home Sundays so this was a nice treat. Onto pudding and because we were going to share the Eton mess was a sizeable portion and again delicious . Itâs very rare these days you find a restaurant that ticks all those boxes service ambiance quality food at extremely reasonable prices but this certainly does thanks for a lovely afternoon we will definitely be back

Asked a friend to get me a sandwich when working. ÂŁ3.50 for a tuna mayo on a white teacake? Nice sandwich but absolutely overpriced. wouldn't buy one again.

Best place for chicken and chips & a nice cup of tea. Yeah the cafe looks run down but the food is brilliant, what you would expect from a greasy spoon. The chips are the best, try them you will not be disappointed

Called here again this Saturday lunchtime for a takeaway and what a disappointment. The pizza lacked mushrooms and ham and the lasagne and spaghetti Bolognese had just a tiny amount of meat. Two weeks ago the same order was abundant with meat. We have used the original Pizzetto numerous times over the last couple of years where back in the day I have left a review praising them for their proper lasagne which was full of meat. Good things never seem to last, what a shame.

I visited here to grab a quick drink and bite to eat before meeting my son. I had a latte and a cheese and ham ciabatta. The coffee was great and really hit the spot and the food was very generous and tasty. There are plenty of places to park nearby if you don't mind a 5 Mon walk max. Would definitely recommend you give it a try.

It's ok for an overnight stop. The attached bar/ restaurant (beefeater) not so good. Went in on arrival to get a drink. Couple of chefs in the cooking area chatting to each other took no notice of us. Whole place empty and thought it was closed so left. Booked into hotel, went to room and unpacked etc. Went back to bar and stood there for some time before a man in shorts appeared and told us there was only one person serving and a table of 10 had just arrived and she was busy. We were served and sat at a table, finished our drinks and left. Headed for town and the theatre and had a great night in Halifax. Left the theatre and arrived back at the hotel at not long after 10pm so thought we would have a nightcap in the bar. Place virtually in darkness and the one bar staff informed us we could have a drink but the bar would be closing at 10.30pm Sat down to have our drink and some other people came in (about 10.15pm.) Only to be told the bar was shut. What sort of hotels close their bat at 10.15pm!! We then went to our room and in the corridor between 2 adjacent rooms they had obviously ordered a takeaway and then disposed of the leftovers all over the carpet in the corridor. Went into the room to contact reception to let them know... no phone kn the room to contact anyone so we had to trawl though chips and takeaway leftovers to go back downstairs to reception. No one at reception so had to press the buzzer to alert someone to attend so that we could alert them to the problem. On a positive note, room was clean, slept well, and breakfast was adequate for the price and the hotel is in a great town centre location. It's just the little thinks that would help to make it so much better.

Absolutely love this traditional pub with an outside courtyard in the centre of Halifax. Great selection of drinks. Friendly staff. Good music. I would highly recommend đđ»
