First visit to this restaurant , lunch with a friend and service was exquisite, food amazing and the whole experience was fabulous. My only disappointment is that I haven’t visited previously a little gem stone tucked away in dean clough. Highly recommend and will definitely be returning to try the evening menu. Thank you

This restaurant is a must visit if you are in Halifax, the food & service was impeccable. There was 4 of us had 3 courses and no one could fault any of the food it was lovely, everyone especially seemed to like the Sticky Toffee Pudding. All the staff are very friendly and couldn't do more for you. Highly recommend.

This was our first visit to True North and I hope there will be more. We were made to feel welcome by Samuel as front of house. The main dish portions are definitely designed for hungry customers . When the freshly cooked food arrived it looked good on the plate and more importantly it was hot and perfectly seasoned. The service was friendly but not intrusive. In terms of price I would say this represents great value for money

Absolutely stunningly delicious food. Great atmosphere and fantastic service. Six friends booked for Sunday Lunch, we all enjoyed different starters, the Lamb rump and Sirlion beef were the tastiest, perfectly balanced plates. And desserts and cheese board were equally impressive. The Malbec wine went down well and the service we received was attentive but not intrusive. Cannot wait to return to this gem of a restaurant.

We arrived early for drinks and received a warm welcome from Sam whose service was excellent throughout the evening. The feta, spinach and dill spring roll starter was fantastic and I had the broccoli with blue cheese main which was one of the best vegetarian dishes I’ve ever had. My only niggle was that we were a little cold at times, sitting close to the door. But it didn’t spoil the excellent food and service. The bill was c£100 for two. It would easily have been £150 in London - outstanding value.

Lovely experience, staff were extremely attentive, friendly and welcoming. Lovely atmosphere. Food first class. This restaurant shows that it is possible to have extremely good, well presented food whilst still managing to arrive at the table piping hot. I wish other restaurants including michelin star restaurants could manage it too.

Booked last minute for a Valentines meal - never been to True North before so was pleasantly surprised. Dean Clough Mills has been very nicely done up and True North has a lovely wood decor with kitchen area where you can see chefs preparing the food (I always like that - shows everything is fresh and cooked there and then i.e. not warmed up!). The four course and cocktails set menu wasn't the cheapest I have to admit but once we'd experienced the food we knew it was worth it. Service was excellent – very attentive and understanding of our needs (we didn't want the cocktails or pudding). I would definitely go back as there were some very nice dishes on the menu I would love to try. Also would be nice to experience more of the Mills and what they have to offer too.

First time here, hopefully not my last. Went for Sunday roast, genuinely one of the nicest I've had in years. Well cooked meat, delicious veggies and Yorkshire puds the size of my head! Kids roast for £7 was amazing value too. Service was friendly and efficient, couldn't have asked for more, overall it was a lovely lunch and I couldn't be happier.

We had the vegan Sunday dinner but it arrived luke warm and we were told we couldn’t have the Yorkshire puds or cauliflower cheese with it but were still charged the fixed price- unfair. The starter, pear and beetroot salad was basic and tasteless. The bill included a £9.00 charge for wine we hadn’t had so we told one guy who said he’d remove it but the second waiter who came didn’t know and was going to charge us for it. Our pie was good but veggies = one carrot, two potatoes, four or five sprouts and some hard cauliflower. Not worth the price.

One of the best Sunday roasts we’ve ever had! Beautifully tender lamb, an enormous portion of veg and spuds and the world’s biggest Yorkshires. The staff were amazing too - super friendly, helpful and efficient. This is quite possibly my favourite ever Sunday roast.

Really nice atmosphere tucked away in the bottom of Dean Clough Mill. I rang ahead to let the restaurant know we'd be about 15 minutes late which they were very accomodating with. Great selection of dishes with generous portion sizes (definitely get your money's worth - Yorkshire portions) and great service from start to finish. Service was top notch from start to finish and they even booked us a taxi to go up to the Victoria Theatre for Jack Whitehall. Would definitely go again and recommend.

Visited on a wet Sunday morning for a post-wedding celebration breakfast with closer family. The weather outside was soon forgotten by the warm and cheerful welcome - service was incredible. Great coffee served, guests arrived then the breakfasts came out. My full English was amazing - top quality and a good plateful - best breakfast I've had for a long time (top marks for the sour dough toast!) My partner had the veggie breakfast that was a far cry from the usual.... Good quality sausages, lovely hash browns and a delicious coated halloumi. My old man had scrambled eggs with salmon and it looked amazing - piled high with salmon too! Wish I had gotten photos, but nevermind - everything about here is amazing. I have been a few times and have never had anything other than an amazing meal. The menu changes regularly so no risk of getting tired of the same dishes. Once I went and didn't think anything particularly appealed to me on the new menu because I'm an idiot. I picked at random and had the most delicious meal I'd had there yet. The food is so well balanced, using fresh super high quality ingredients. The chefs have repeatedly shown me new flavours that I've fallen in love with and I now completely trust them. I may just start dice rolling to order.

First visit for us, and definitely won't be the last. 😊 We had booked for a late Sunday lunch as a belated birthday celebration for me. Choice of around 6/8 starters then choice of 4 roasts. Andy chose Roast Beef and for me the Lamb Rump. Both came with crisp Yorkshire puds, roast potatoes, carrots, green beans and broccoli cheese and gravy. We followed with pot of tea & vanilla ice cream for Andy & a Cappuccino for me. Bottle of Zinfandel Rose and a bitter shandy to drink for us. All very much enjoyed. First time we have visited True North and it won't be the last. The food was lovely and plentiful and the staff were polite and attentive. We visited with a friend who has Motor Neurone Disease and needs a bit of help so they sat us near to the door for the toilets and gave us a radar key to use which was brilliant. It has a lovely casual feel about the place. The prices are reasonable too.
