Poor food ,poor service,manager looked like he was the glass collector and his attitude to our party was disgusting. Can't be bothered showing customers to table yet moans at us when we sat down on a table that didn't say reserved . He accused us of removing the reserved sign ,why would we the place was empty. When the food came out we understand why the place was empty ,dry ,burnt ,dog food came to mind ,we left.

Every time I come here they never disappoint! Steven/Stephen always makes us feel welcome and treats us so well! All the staff are so friendly and very helpful! Me and my boyfriend come here pretty much every Sunday for our dinners! I don't understand any of the negative reviews ! The food is good especially for the price and everyone is so nice here! I highly recommend! Always appreciate the staff here!

We popped into the Water Mill for our evening reservation and despite having a sign on the door to say they were short staffed, we had a fantastic evening meal. We didn't wait very long for our food and our steak was good to perfection (medium rare). The staff were busy, but Stephen was amazing and so professional and polite. I would definitely recommend.

Have been to this place many times prior to our visit . Upon arrival we were met with a sign on door saying find a table and order at bar ( cannot be bothered manning the door ) As we had booked and requested the table over looking the canal(and on a previous visit we were told even though you booked just pick any table) ,we went to the table which had reserved on it(we had reserved) The manager Stephen(new for male Karen as he called me)came over and was verbally attacking us "which table are you booked on " I replied we booked this table and without any other indication that we had not got it we sat down. "Just because you booked this table doesn't mean you have got it"STEPHEN barked at me ! We had no way of knowing that fact! Went to order food and was overcharged a large amount by a 15 year old that was unsupervised at the bar! When I questioned this I was told the bill was correct and she pointed to the vat column . I pointed out that that was the vat! (Obviously she was new but that did not mean she did not have to check . She had trouble getting someone over to help her ,Stephen came over and was at me again " you don't have to dine here" STEPHEN again barked at me . I replied I was thinking of going somewhere else,Steven was extremely keen to get rid of us and asked if he should cancel ,yet as we had travelled so far I decided to stay . Steven sorted out the discount,the 15 year old then asked "shall I tell the kitchen to cancel the food?" I replied "no he has only refunded the discount" Steven then shouted at me "She was talking to him" I said " It was a question about our food" so I had answered the 15 year old(as found out later her age ). He went on a right rant and should not be in a customer service capacity. We sat for our meals and the starters came out really fast, the bread on the prawn cocktail was turned upwards/stale and I would not have served to our dog ,We pointed this out to the waitress.who with attitude said she would replace it. The sharing starter was burnt and dry also. After the first altercation I had decided to start recording as Steven seemed to have an issue with us!(Apparently he had even watched us when we arrived.Grandma took a long time to walk to table,so he had the opportunity to tell us where we were sat instead of just staring at us). Steven came over and said it was private and I was not allowed to record ( I informed him It was open to public and I was within my rights to record his harrasment) He then went on a rant during which he confirmed the unsupervised girl behind the bar "was only 15" It is illegal for a 15 year old behind the bar unsupervised ( I have the video to prove which I am sending to the licence people) At this point I ask for my money back so we could leave,Steven went on another rant whilst during my refund during which Stephen called me a "KAREN " amongst other things . The water mill was quite empty and I can understand why brewers fayre are closing many of these establishments. They need a lesson in a:organisation and b: customer service and c: not serving rancid food. We then drove to a different restaurant that was quite busy and efficient. Steven you need to find another job ( you may have to when they shut water mill down due to lack of customers) We eat out at least twice a week and don't need this attitude!Whilst the drive in my electric car was inconvenient to the new venue was not a high cost in fuel 30p ,but I would have paid extra £30 just for not to be verbally assaulted!

Been here a few times now at breakfast time and it is amazing. You get everything breads, toasts, proper butter, spreads, cereals, juices, tea, coffee and a choice of a full English breakfast as much as you like too and it’s not greasy either. It’s beautiful just how I like it. You cannot fault it either. Reasonably priced especially for the amount and quality. Will be back again soon.

I ordered 3 trio pies not in stock but comes with gravy and mash. I asked if I could order the chicken and ham pie with mash all agreed the Manager who served me Stephen said fine no mention of no gravy. The menu has no reference to extra charge for gravy. When it came out the waiter said it will be a charge if you want gravy. I sent it back and asked for a full refund. When is explained to the manager and waitress I had never been asked before and I was a regular. I was told I should not expect to get free gravy because I am a regular the manager even said you don’t have to dine with us again. The staff need some hospitality training at best and the manager should lead by example.

This place is amazing and the team is all so lovely that it makes it so welcoming. Me and my husband always go just because of the service and treatment we get from the staff. The beer garden is beautiful and we always sit out and they still are always aware of our needs! Please give this place a try because you won’t regret it!

Went to The Watermil on the 21st June for my Birthday. We had a lovely time food was very good . Was really looked after. Our visit was made extra special by Izzy who served us she was excellent. She couldn't have done any more for us thank you to her.

Honestly! Every time me and my boyfriend come here the staff always ALWAYS give us the best service! Steven/Stephen, Alisha and all of the staff always make us feel so welcome and treat us so well! We come here every Sunday for the all you can eat, It's cheap and fills you up! Such a great value. I highly recommend this place for friendly staff and great cheap food!

Eat evening meal here on Sunday and Monday, Sunday great evening Manager(I think) couldn’t do enough to help. Food average but not pricey and arrived quickly considering how busy they were. Monday food about the same but otherwise very different - so slow! Staff seemed to not what they were doing and didn’t seem that bothered, perhaps just tired on the Bank Holiday.

We went for tea whilst I dropped a member of my family off in the town centre for an appointment. We ordered from the saver menu, hoping it would be bigger than a child’s meal. My daughter got the cheeseburger and chips. She ate the chips and took one bite of the burger and said the cheese tasted like rubber. I had the baked potato with chilli, served with soured cream. The soured cream was mixed in with the chilli. The potato was the smallest one I had ever seen, ridiculous, but it tasted off, I asked for another my daughter said she didn’t want anything else. I asked for the soured cream to be separate. It came and it was another small potato but a little bigger than the one before. This time it was edible. But £6 for a jacket potato the size of I’d say two golf balls, was a total piss take. I said I wouldn’t go back but I thought we’d try again. I will not be going there again. A waste of money. We both need food. We will go home and make a late tea.

Visited for tea and a few drinks whilst staying at the premier inn next door, I went to the bar to order and was greeted with a smile and the best service from Olivia (name on the receipt). The food came fast and was lovely, would definitely recommend

Great location right in the canal. Popped in while staying at the premier inn for a few nights. Overall it's a nice place. Some of the staff seem like they can't be bothered. On ordering a couple of drinks I was initially charged £13. 20 for a pint of lager and cider. Upon questioning the price the girl didn't seem to understand where I was coming from. And then suddenly realised that it should have been £9 plus what ever change. I thought I was in London for a minute. Anyway the problem was rectified thankfully. We popped back later for food. We found a table next to the window overlooking the canal which was nice. The tables were already laid and we browsed the menu and ordered some food. The wait wasn't too long and the food looked fab. I picked up my cutlery and was disgusted by the scum on my knife. Clearly visible and should never have been put on the table. Rather than bother a member of staff I just swapped it with one from the opposite table. Well if they can't be bothered then why should I. Such a shame because the food was delicious. Things like that really shouldn't be missed. Anyway we still had a lovely meal and went back again the following evening and the food again was delicious. If in Halifax again I would certainly go back and hope the staff are in a happier mood and that the cutlery is clean.

We visited for breakfast on Saturday morning I can even begin to describe how much choice we were faced with Fruit cereals pastries yoghurts Hot buffet was amazing so much choice Plus unlimited hot and cold drinks I can not stress the value for money on this place and kids eat free it’s crazy how much this place has to offer The staff are amazing not matter how busy they always have a smile on their faces Would recommend 10/10

We were supposed to be booked in for mothersday at 1600 to 1630. When we got there to book in we were told it was at1800 hours. The wife and eldest daughter booked it in during the week at the restaurant for the earlier time the staff were rude ove the situation and not even willing to help out in any way whatsoever. So we left with not even an apology. Mother's day ruined and we won't be going back. Absolute disgraceful.

Food’s lovely, service even more so! Stayed a couple nights in a nearby hotel and kept coming back to this restaurant for breakfast and evening meals. With a cozy and relaxed atmosphere, I couldn’t have asked for anything better. Thank you to your amazing staff!

Came for a meal with my family and had such a great evening. Was served by a young lady named Lucy, such a pleasant girl with a constant smile on her face. She was very polite and made the whole evening just that little bit more enjoyable. My sister is gluten intolerant and she just ordered beans, luckily we had brought gluten free bread. The service was great however. Our server (Gwen) went to a lot of lengths to see what options were available and was really nice and happy. The food was average premier in food, but a wider selection of cold food than usual though.

Visited Monday 21st with my wife and father having arrived early we had a drink in the bar before ordering and been shown to our table which had the addition of 3 empty ice cream containers to catch a leak nice! We ordered of the festive menu 2x3 course meal and 1x 2 course meal. We ordered 3 prawn cocktail that seemed to take a good ten minutes to arrive. The prawn cocktail was ok but we were expected to eat our starter with what would have been our main course cuterly. We then had to get the attention of the waiter to ask to clear our starters having sat there for a good ten minutes. There was again a ten minute wait for our mains with came with no cuterly and the waiter then brought them. I ordered the rump steak with came with a virtualy raw tomato and French fries not skin on fries as advised. My wife's salmon en croute came with the smallest amount of hollandaise sauce. And it looked like it had only just seen the oven and clearly been bought in. The dessert were ok but after looking at my receipt today it shows I was charged for 2 separate desserts with should have been included in the Xmas meal offer. Overall a very poor dinning experience and one that I wouldn't recommend.

We were staying at the Premier Inn and took advantage of the meal deal which was an evening meal and breakfast. If we hadn't, don't think we would have gone back for breakfast the following morning but Molly saved it for us. The waitress was not the friendliest, didn't make eye contact and on the previous evening missed an evening meal off our order and a dessert came with whipped cream when we had checked it didn't. On the other hand Molly at breakfast was amazing, friendly, chatty, helpful, checked our orders back to us and couldn't have been nicer or more professional. 10/10 for Molly

The roast dinners were satisfactory but the meal wasn’t piping hot as we would have liked.We sat at a table near the window overlooking the canal. It was disappointing to see plastic tubs situated on the window cills collecting rainwater! Inside these plastic tubs lay dead wood lice, not something you want to see near a dining table. Won’t be going again until the window leaks are repaired!
