I visited here to grab a quick drink and bite to eat before meeting my son. I had a latte and a cheese and ham ciabatta. The coffee was great and really hit the spot and the food was very generous and tasty. There are plenty of places to park nearby if you don't mind a 5 Mon walk max. Would definitely recommend you give it a try.

Friday morning is butty’s at work, and there isn’t a better local sandwich than from The Red Squirrel. High quality ingredients and consistently good. A little more expensive than some rivals, but well worth the extra £1 for the quality. Highly recommended.

.... simple, straightforward, good, home-cooked food, very reasonable prices and smashing coffee by local independents from Huddersfield, Bean Brothers. Red Squirrel Café is between Dean Clough and Halifax, just 2 minutes away from the town centre. Well worth a visit, and they do take-outs too.

Just been today, with my Wife, Sister and Nephew. We had a good time, the food was exceptionally good. My Nephew liked the fish Sea Bass Filet in that case, my Sister had and myself had the Old Gate burger with chips, my Wife had the Guijon Chicken Burger. The Waiter was not pushing ( specifically with the bill ) at all All in all very good

Disappointing food. Had the haddock and there was a very small piece of fish in a soup of Hollandaise sauce. Half of the mains were not available.

A lovely traditional pub steeped in local history that for the last few years has suffered from a revolving door of short lived landlords without a clue. What a refreshing change then to see that the Hinch' has finally got new landlords (Oct2024) who clearly know how to run a pub. Within a short period of time they have successfully managed to breathe new life into what had become a tired and soulless place to eat and drink. On the two occasions we've been since the Hinch reopened we've been super impressed with the food. In fact the cheese and onion pie might well be the best pie l've tasted in the Calder Valley (or ever!) and the flavourful and plentiful Sunday Roast offering was a cut above your usual pub ‘roast’ offering. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the food if you’re looking for somewhere to eat - especially when it comes without the hassle of parking in Hebden Bridge. On each occasion we’ve been, the Hinch was busy with drinkers and diners which is great to see. The trade off is you've only got the choice of Manchester owners JW Lees’ own branded mystery beer offerings. Forget the craft-ale revolution, or the fact that Vocation brewery is literally 5 mins away, the solitary guest beer offering here is San Miguel. I guess you can't have everything, but at least the food and atmosphere more than makes up for it!
