The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

Family meal. More bar staff needed and some did appear somewhat stressed. I ordered the rack of ribs, they tasted lovely but were no where near hot enough. Good JD sauce. The corn on the cobs were inedible, boiled within in an inch! My husband enjoyed his beef burger, but overall, for the price of food, it’s nothing special. Most of the party were just ‘erm, it was okay’. Good price on a bottle of red wine and the food came out as we ordered, we they wanted us to pay at the bar due to party size. Main male staff member greeting as we walked in was friendly.

Went for a pub lunch. The gentleman behind the bar was very helpful with my partner who is gluten intolerant, she had steak and chips, and asked for a sauce to go with it. Not being sure whether the peppercorn sauce had gluten he looked online for us, sadly it had, but he offered red wine sauce or port and Stilton sauce, she opted for the red wine sauce which was lovely. I had fish and chips, which was a lovely big portion, and our son had the beef and red wine lasagne with garlic bread which also looked delicious. Big kudos to the bar staff for their patience and understanding. 14/4/25 at 2.30pm

Made welcome despite no reservation and really enjoyed the fish pie . The service was friendly and the wait for food was worth it . Both puddings ( crumble and sticky toffee ) got a big thumbs up . The interior is nice without being stuffy , and the servers were all lovely .

Lovely food. Clean welcoming atmosphere and Jen who looked after us was so nice, she really went above and beyond and made it a very enjoyable lunch.

For a Toby, this place was lovely as the quality across the chain is very hit and miss. We went for wraps instead of a carvery and I was generally very impressed with the service and food quality. Only thing that lets the review down is that the place wasn't staffed as well as it could be. A big restaurant that was mostly empty, yet it took a good hour or so for the food to arrive. Would happily return though, as I said, the chain is very hit miss in multiple locations so much as they are renowned for it. EV chargers are in the car park to the rear side of the premises. Questionable IHG hotel is very close. Also, can someone pick up the mouldy banana from outside the kitchen door grass area? Made me laugh seeing that as it looked like a masssive poo.

Starting to dislike the menu screens. If you're not a seasoned visitor, it's difficult to see what's on offer as the screens are forever changing. At least have one static screen showing what's available. Needs some window shades for the sun, when the sun is shining that is

What a wonderful find. Was looking for somewhere for lunch with my family and was advised to visit. The food was fantastic and the service was efficient and very friendly. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

Had a 100 birthday . Then unfortunately a wake . Bur both were held expertly both the room and food.

I came with my husband as a weekend treat. We booked online but when we arrived it was quiet . Today is a Saturday. Maybe on a Sunday booking would be advised . The gentleman was served us at the bar was warm, friendly and professional. We ordered 2 breakfast , 2 large OJs and 2 coffees . The orange juice was really nice . The coffee was ok. Had better , but definitely had worse. The breakfast itself was alright to be fair . I didn’t get the Yorkshire pudding and gravy option haha but if that’s your thing. Crack on. The chopped potato onion hash thing was nice . The sausages were slightly over cooked but again they were alright, the eggs were nicely cooked , the bacon wasn’t the best . It looked reheated . It was like chewing cardboard . Everything else was completely acceptable. Would I rush to come back no, but if we were passing and we fancied a bite to eat would we return for sure. Few tweaks and this breakfast would be banging .

Really enjoyed our lunch today at The Rosette. We were made to feel very welcome by Nikki who was a one man band, serving drinks, food, clearing tables and taking orders but kept smiling all the time. We had the 2 for 11.99 deal. The food was amazing for the price. I had lasagne, hot and very tasty with garlic bread. My friend had the gammon, egg, pineapple and chips, again hot ,tasty and nicely cooked. You get a choice of 5 different kind of chips. My friend had the apple pie (huge slice) and custard, cup of tea for me. We were very pleasantly surprised (after reading some reviews), will definitely visit again.

Terrible comida, rodajas más finas de pavo, pudín Yorkshire era duro, verdura estaba demasiado guisada y suave pero los tallos de coliflor eran duros. No todo estaba caliente, peor que las comidas escolares. La música en el pub era tan fuerte que era difícil de escuchar y ser escuchado al hacer el pedido. No volveré y nunca recomendaría. 🙁

Online menu offers a selection of hot beverages. Staff said they do not serve tea, coffee, or hot chocolate. Staff very rude so all 5 of us left. Seemed odd that a hotel would not serve these on a cold wet December day. It will put us off going there again.
