Toby Carvery in Leeds

Sad really it used to be very good. Eggs rubbery and solid, bacon dried out and £9.50 now. I suppose its the risk when food is left out on heated dishes it soon loses its freshness. It was all a bit dark and dismal and there was only one other family in there.

Very relaxed atmosphere, friendly cheerful staff and great value for money! Unlimited soft drinks and a great selection of meats and the new menu looks delicious! We can’t wait to return to try it

For bang for buck I don’t believe there is a better place, unlimited soft drink and buffet for under £15 each in this economy is wild. Smooth service and warm atmosphere, get what you pay for and more.

Food was Luke warm the roast were cold and we couldn’t actually cut them up they were that hard. I did complain and was planning on showing them to a member of staff and said they’ve been out to long (worked serving carvery for years) and could they get us some fresh ones, they pointed to a bin I could throw them in but never bothered checking the problem, the roasts I asked for never arrived the idea was so we wouldn’t be waiting in the Que again as the food we had would have gone completely cold, ended up going up myself after I’d eaten my food, not much better but luke warm, pudding I had banoffee cheese cake which was nice enough but it didn’t state it was actually cheese cake the cookie dough pudding was almost identical to this pudding ie the cheesecake was probably the same cake however it did state that it was cookie dough cheesecake, just for those that aren’t overly keen on cheesecake like myself, seemed to be short of staff although we didn’t mind the wait one of the workers offered to get up and go see where the bar staff was but we told him to sit and eat his lunch, seemed very unorganised compared to previous visits, sorry very disappointing

We were served by a young lad called Aaron he was very friendly and polite and even helped me carry plates to r tables will defo be visiting again

Visited today as a family group was very disappointed with you meal today Staff very slow despite not being busy at all Carvery staff very miserable Meat was very dry and fatty Vegetable selection was very poor today and not cooked very well Roast potatoes had an awful taste to them Felt very rushed by the waiting staff and was brought the bill before we had even finished At £54 for 3 meals and 3 drinks will not be visiting again

Great food and the service we had was amazing. My partner was feeling a little shaky and a worker there, Kath, really helped her out

After a busy day exploring Leeds and with a long journey home we were looking forward to our carvery tea. We'd already booked a table for 4pm. The 'manger' that greeted us was friendly and made sure we knew what to do. Our waitress was Kath and she was lovely, she looked after us well, which is a rarity these days, even sorting my app out on my phone so we could use a voucher. They chef who served us was equally friendly, we got chatting about our dogs! Having worried it might not be the same with all the covid restrictions we were pleasantly surprised, the food was delicious and you could choose just what you'd like and how much you'd like. Just one slight observation, the chef gave our plates to the waitresses who then took it to our table, meaning two people had touched the plate, if it had been passed to us directly only the chef and us would have touched it? There is probably a good reason for this policy but surely the less people touching it is better....Shame we live so far away but if our son chooses Leeds Beckett University we will surely be visiting again. Keep up the good work.

It’s my Mum’s 91st birthday today and she loves the Toby Carvery at Horsforth. We were welcomed and shown to our table on time. The restaurant was fully Covid compliant. We always know we are assured of a good quality meal. Kath served us. She was friendly, caring and professional. She got Mum a complimentary Kelly’s ice cream dessert with strawberries and chocolate. Mum was very appreciative. We all sang her happy birthday. It made my Mum’s birthday special.

Booked for 6pm and got told to wait outside in the cold for our table to be ready. Didn’t get seated until 15 past and when we were brought in the waitress took us to the wrong table and then moved us. No big deal but the rest of the service was shocking. Forgot to bring us our drinks had to ask 3 times. When they were re-filled the same glasses were used (Covid). Forgot our starters and had to ask for this twice. Not brought the right amount of cutlery or salt and pepper. When we eventually did get our starters they got taken away before we had finished them whilst we were collecting our mains. We only left them at the table because they came so late we were already ready for our mains. My vegetarian meal came cold. Then once we paid we were asked to leave despite having only been at our table an hour. Kath was our waitress and seemed totally disinterested. Crap.

Great visit to Toby Carvery at Horsforth - as normal! The food is lovely, great selection, tasty and hot! The covid restrictions which have been added over recent months are clear and visible and made me and my party feel safe and secure. Great value for a lovely meal.

We came for a cheeky lunch on Saturday and we were not disappointed. We arrived about 20 mins early and we were seated immediately (we would have been happy to wait as it was us that was early). From there we were handed over to Kath who was so wonderful and friendly she made the whole experience amazing. She was so friendly and chatty, especially with the children. They asked to come back next week! Thanks Kath for the lovely experience!

Just spent Friday night here with some friends, and can honestly say Kath is an asset to your team! So lovely and friendly and made me feel like I was having a roast at home rather than in a restaurant! Will be back again just to see Kath! Food was fab too!

Just to say many thanks to the staff at The Toby Carvery Horsforth for making my dads day on thursday 8th October at lunchtime.He eats there with my mum and friends most Thursdays and he was touched that you placed a couple of balloons on his table to mark his 89th birthday.Well done to the staff.

Arrived 30 minutes early but was seated quickly, our order was taken at our table by kath. When food arrived hot & plentiful. Enjoyed our visit we will return .

I booked a table here for Sunday dinner for me and my partner, The first time since Covid 19 and the new restrictions, we were shown to are seat as it’s now table service and I must say we were not disappointed the food was lovely. We were served by a guy called jordon and I want to say he was amazing and a credit to his job . A lovely warm guy , his customer service were a credit to him he made us feel wanted and made the changes so much easier thank you for such warm ness . And a big thank you to all the staff who made it relaxed and so organised it made it all so much more comforting in these uncertain times .

Called in on Wednesday the 16th for the first time since lockdown. We were shown our table and ordered our drinks. We were told to just go up whenever we were ready we expected to be sent in turn to avoid queues On joining the queue we were surprised to see no screens up to protect the food on the deck. As we were waiting a lady been served waved her hand above all the food pointing at what she wanted. We decided there and then to not eat. Didn't see evidence of ppe on the staff, and defo didn't feel covid safe. The staff were as nice as always but we won't be visiting our regular eatery again such a shame as we used to come weekly.

On our arrival, we were shown the protocol of the restaurant during these times. We were seated promptly and our drinks order was taken at the table.Our server was a lady called Kath, who was very down to earth with a friendly smile and a great sense of humour. She made us feel like part of her family. Nothing was too much trouble for her, she even helped out while my wife had a problem using the Toby Carvery app!. I must also give a big thank you to the very friendly chefs! Thanks to everyone for a great experience and a special thank you to Kath.

First trip out with my parents in months and glad we selected the eleventh earl! Food was excellent and service was fab. Kath couldn't have been more helpful and friendly and helped make my parents feel at ease. Excellent evening had by all. Thanks

Great experience, great food and waiter. I wanted to give a mention to Harry who was serving the Carvery on Sunday 23rd August at around 4pm. There was an EXTREMELY rude customer infront of me in the queue who was more than unreasonable, I have never ever in my 27 years heard anyone be spoken to in the way she spoke to him and it was completely unecessary and uncalled for. She was rude to him from the minute he picked up her plate and expected him to be a mind reader because “the food must not touch eachother on the plate” how someone would know that is beyond me. I really can’t express enough how rude this woman was, at one point she literally shouted at him because he put her cabbage too close to her potatoes. (?!?!) Harry didn’t rise to this but remained polite and friendly throughout the whole experience and kept a cool head, he handled it extremely well. He really deserves some recognition for this, we bought him a pint of beer for when he finished his shift in the hope that it would brighten up his day.

Lovely place good welcome nice staff,food was very tasty and plentiful no complaints. Big shout-out to Kath our waitress she was amazing nothing was too much trouble the kids loved her 😀👍

We came for my Nans 88th birthday lunch. We all had carvery, Kath our server was attentive and made sure our glasses were full etc. She brought our cake out and sang to her too. Was very friendly and probably made our visit actually The food was lovely and the all loved the coffee to finish

Just come back from the Toby Carvery and it was so nice to see service with a smile from Jordan. He was very friendly and on it. He was always checking on us and asking if we needed anything. Great team member . 🙂

Had a lovely meal with the family and Destiny was our server cant fault her service was outstanding.

After a heavy night on the gin on a rainy day in August a steady carvery was just what we needed to fix our bodies and de fog our heads. Little did we know we were also about to have the pleasure of meeting our exceptional server Kath, aswell as bringing us a delicious bowl of pigs in blankets she also brought the sunshine, what a lady. Kath was the most attentive and lovely server we’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and I personally feel like she did really care about me enjoying my enormous portion of food (big up meat carver dude, I really did eat all that food you gave me) the only downside to the whole experience was not getting more time with you all. I’ll remember this day for the rest of my life.

Called in with family. We received an efficient friendly welcome on arrival and seating / explanation. The carvery was standard fayre, even the Extra large version was short on meat but a good selection of veg.They certainly upsell the pigs in blankets , asking each table if they wanted this “add on” - so when I saw 2 bowls for £5:49 (which is a bit steep anyway) I ordered them. Clear from the add on price these are not included in the carvery price - which is strange on a carvery . On arrival they were 2 tiny bowls with 5 mini / cocktail sausages in each so worked out 54p per sausage - not worth it at all and wouldn’t recommend these. Clearly a money maker for them and left a sour taste on what was an ok carvery.

Utterly pathetic 1 bar staff rude waiter called kath calling us darlings etc I’m a sir please address me as so and my wife as madam , you ask women and children what they would like first not any old order

It was a fab evening meal. Served to us my the bubbly Kath. Made our meal a happy one. (not Mc d's). Very clean conscious. However, none of the staff were wearing face masks.

We visited on the first day of eat out to help out and booked the last slot in the evening as a party of 8. A few teething problems after covid but the staff couldnt be more helpful. Special thanks to DARREN behind the carvery for doing all he could to help us enjoy our meal, running around at the end of his shift to make sure our special needs daughter had her meal just how she liked it and to team leader Kelly for still making sure our little ones got their pudding even after the entire restaurant was emptied after an extremely busy day... much appreciated and we will return!

The restaurant is very well set up to be safe, tables nicely spaced out and a good one way system in place. Meals were very good value with plenty to eat. Great choice of meals for vegetarians and vegans. Our server Kath was very attentive and took good care of our needs - lovely atmosphere. I would have no qualms in coming here again. Thanks for a lovely Sunday lunch.

1st time we have been out to a restaurant since March, and were slightly nervous, however we were very happy and comfortable with everything. I believe they are doing a good job, of course it's a constant learning curve and we were impressed.Food and service as good as ever, and had to have a Yorkshire pudding on Yorkshire day!Kath was welcoming and helpful friendly. We hope you get your holiday after being cancelled again!New way of service was odd, but efficient, did get a very good amount of food, probably more than what I would've pug on myself.We are confident to return once we have digested everything. The gentlemen who served our carvery were so friendly and generous in checking we got enough of what we wanted. A lovely family visit making it just as enjoyable as it was before the changes due to coronavirus. I visit here often and always a good visit. Thanks all!

We came here as we were meeting some friends.Kath was our waitress, she was lovely, friendly and would do anything for you. Made our experience stress free and enjoyable. The establishment is following all the governments guidelines with covid-19 which put our minds at ease. Clean and professional Toby carvery would recommend to a friend.Thankyou

Came in yesterday evening hadn’t booked but greeted by a chap on the desk at the laptop with who I presumed was the manager for the evening . From start to finish this his service was second to none. Informed how to get the meal due to social distancing measures. Managed to persuade us to buy some starters of a glazed pibs sharing platter. Which we all enjoyed throughly. Kept the kids busy as they kept asking about his tattoo. They even had a roaring contest see who was best. And he even gave them each a pound out of his tips so they could have a go on the ball machine. I don’t know who he was outstanding above and beyond his duty as a waiter . We felt he was deserving of a big tip so we left a nice and generous £15 for him. If when he’s back on shift please pass on our many thanks

This was our first time visiting, no fault with the food but had a particularly rude server, Claire I think? The other waitresses seemed to be serving people in a polite and upbeat way and we seemed to get one that was dull and seemed to be trying to get us out ASAP.

After craving a roast dinner, we decided to head to Toby Carvery. We didn’t have great expectations for customer service as usually in other toby carvery’s the staff are not so friendly or engaging - not surprising when slaving over a hot stove but you know what i mean. However, the chefs from the Fink Hill/Horsforth Toby Carvery are an absolute joy and a pleasure to speak to. They didn’t rush us, made sure we had everything we wanted and were generally really nice and chatty! Would definitely visit again just to say hi to these fellas! Food is fab too :-) they have considered everything for a takeaway including roasties and yorkshires going in a separate bag as to not go soggy and gravy in a separate pot so you can get the skin off neatly before pouring on your meal! Amazing, absolutely no complaints :-)

First visit to a restaurant since they reopened and we were served by the lovely Kath who got us everything we need and very chatty and made us feel comfortable! lovely to talk to someone who loves the sunshine state and holidays as much as I do! amazing food! thank you for a pleasant visit!!

Last night I visited Toby carvery with my partner, I was very nervous due to the current pandemic but boy have horsforth put some amazing measures in place. The social distancing rules were clearly defined and our waitress Claire was so friendly and accommodating. She made sure we was looked after from the minute we was seated. Amazing experience even in the current climate. Food as always was amazing. Will definitely be returning.

First time we've been out during all this Covid bo**ocks, very sceptical having read how Toby were going to go about business but was very surprised at how well it all worked, we were shown to our table and our waitress, Claire, told us exactly how things worked, including the refillable soft drinks and made us feel right at home, having being told the staff would be putting everything on our plates I was expecting a childs portion but alas I couldnt have plated up a better meal if I tried!! All the staff are super friendly and we will definitely be returning

This place has really gone down in quality. Food is barely warm- not usually very fresh looking. Is very tasteless. Cheap price/ and very cheap quality. Would not go here any more to eat. Not worth the price, even if it is cheap.

Would give zero if I could. Food nasty and customer service is appalling. I really wouldn't bother- Save your money!

All the staff here were so lovely, we have a lively two year old who staff were very kind to so ten out of ten for them. Food was a different thing altogether. There was a lot of ceremony by the person cutting the meat considering you hardly got any but this isn't a criticism of him as he was probably following the criteria on portion size by management. Meat was fairy average, nothing special. Potatoes were tasteless, gravy tasteless, vegetables were okay, Yorkshire puddings looked amazing but tasted of nothing, cauliflower cheese looked dry. This restaurant was quite busy when we went so obviously it is popular but for us, people who like something better that you can cook at home (not worse) then this is a restaurant to avoid at all costs. Tasteless, tasteless, tasteless.

Every time you go into the restaurant you never come away feeling hungry the staff are great and one called Kath makes you feel at home

I don't take heed of any negative reviews when I visit it a place for the first time. I prefer to judge it for myself. So when I visited with my elderly mother this week (Wednesday) at 12 noon I had no pre-thoughts about it. I just enjoyed the hospitality of every employee I can into contact with, and thought the carvery was delicious, and so did my mother. The beef was wonderful- cooked to perfection, just how we like it, and the veg, roasties and Yorkshire puddings were very good. It was clean, `spick and span' and a pleasure to be in. The car park is easy to find a space. All I can say is that - the quality of a food place is judged by the punters, and by 12.45 it was packed out- so they must be doing something right!

The staff were all lovely , the waiter was really helpful and informative. The food was delicious and served very quickly. It catered very well for Vegetarians.

Had a nice family meal here on our first time visit. Good value for money, a good choice of vegetables and a Yorkshire pudding for our vegetarian in the group. Staff seemed nice. When we are in the area we’ll visit again.

Toby Carvery was an easy go to and my sons favourite place to watch. We won’t be visiting this one again.

While friends were visiting from overseas (Ireland to be precise) we decided to go to lunch at Toby Carvery in Horsforth as it's close by and we've had many a fantastic carvery here. Two of us needed to leave earlier than the rest of our party so we went to get our food first. My friend approached the carvery counter and the, what I can only describe as "non approachable", carvery attendant asked my friend "Which Meat"... my friend chose Pork and Beef as the beef was being carved and then put on the plate my friend asked the staff member could he have more with the "king size" option, the staff member immediately sighed quite loudly grabbed a bigger plate from below the carvery, threw my friends food onto the bigger plate and tossed the old plate below, he handed him the plate then like my friend had personally insulted him. I was next up, asked for a king size carvery straight away to which the carvery staff member replied with, see, it's easier when you ask for it first time round. Not only was I shocked by the attitude of the staff member but how my friend was able to keep calm after being completely humiliated by this moody staff member in front of the other people in the queue. The service industry should have staff that are well trained and are able to deal with customers in a friendly professional manner. If the staff member had given the option to customers for normal or king size then this would have avoided such humiliation. It may be some time before we decide to return to Toby Carvery and we most definitely won't be returning to Horsforth.

Booked a table in advance but there was nobody to greet us when we arrived. We had requested a highchair which was brought over to the table as we were seated but it was dirty and hadn’t been cleaned.

We had booked a lunchtime table for 3 as my Granddaughter wanted to take us for a meal. We have been to numerous Toby Carveries, but not this one.

Staff were attentive and well mannered especially the young lad who was carving had a good chat with him ☺️ only thing stopping a 5* was the food quality gammon was average at best and yorkies were quite poor and my carling was a little warm other than that was spot on

We booked for Xmas lunch with our elderly mums as a treat.....won’t do that again!! Was told to wait in the bar area which was jam packed. One young lad serving obviously at the end of his tether it took us ages to get a drink. After waiting 1/2 hour I had to ask about our table - we eventually got seated. The table was laid for 3 not 4 people, other tables had their preorders and name on the table, we didn’t although we did pre order. One starter of soup was put on the table cold and 20 minutes later we had to go ask for the other 3 which in all honesty were disgusting and not eaten. We then had to queue for 35 minutes with our elderly parents to get the Carvery. One guy serving 4 meats and everything else besides does not offer good service. Admittedly the food when we got it was ok but we were starving anyway so would have eaten a scabby dog at this stage!!! We then had to go ask for our puddings which were also poor.

Went for pre Christmas Carvery, two days prior to Christmas. Waited 20 minutes for waitress to serve us. All four of us had carvery. Very little meat given to us, vegatbles were luke warm. Wouldn’t return and those paying £50 per head for Christmas Day need to think again.

Booked in advance for 27th Dec and a Family reunion. Surprised at lack of cars in car park at a dinner time and empty feeling inside. Carvery up to a good standard as per expectations at any chain, but upon choosing our Sweets there was no ice cream as it was “not ready” so 4 original requests led to changes. When the Treacle Sponge with custard arrived it was covered with soya custard and a replacement was requested - good job no intolerance, just someone who liked traditional custard. Cheesecake about passable but a well known frozen food supermarket does a far superior version that I thoroughly enjoyed at home on the 28th. If Christmas staffing demands have led to this disappointing finish to our meal then fair do’s but a quick scoot in a car by the Manager to get a few tubs of vanilla ice-cream from a frozen food shop would have helped tremendously. Optional markings shown below would probably hold good outside a festive period.

There were a large party of us but we had pre booked and I like to think pre warning allows for preparations to occur.

Booked here for Xmas day to have a stress free Xmas dinner and got the exact opposite. On arrival it was chaos at the bar with only one staff member serving. Dirty plates with left over food left everywhere. Shown to our table 45 minutes late and the table decorations were a joke. There wasn't even festive napkins and just a few crackers thrown on the table. I took time out of my day 2 weeks prior to provide our pre order for starters and desserts. Well I might aswell not have wasted my fuel because they had "run out" of several of our choices. It then became apparent why as we heard the waitress speak to another table and say "Well you didn't pre order so these are your choices" which makes me think just how many others didn't pre order and that's why we are now having to choose an alternative. Such poor planning and organisation. The wine was warm with no ice. My husband's starter was cold and no waiter/waitress in sight to send it back and it was like red water. Our plates were not cleared inbetween courses so my sister had to do it. Nobody asked us if we wanted more drinks. We were not offered any good will gestures for the shambolic service, that the manager acknowledged we were experiencing. This was £50 per head for a party of 12 and it was an absolute disgrace.

Waited about 45 mins after booked time. Only 1 bar staff on at busy time. Nowhere for those unable to stand to sit while waiting. Got grief (from other customers) when finally had a temporary seat while waiting for our table to be ready. Starter came about 45 mins after seated (even though had pre-ordered online). About 30 min wait for carvery. What was booked to reduce stress at Christmas actually made it worse. Nothing as a gesture of good will for the issues. Booked table for 5pm and finally left at 8pm with my 4 year old extremely unhappy. Only got 2 stars as carvery and dessert was nice. Will no be back. Stupid as pre book only so no excuses.

Very busy but that didnt stop the staff from being friendly and helpfull. Food very average, produced in bulk and poorly presented. Feels like getting your school dinner. Even though this was fairly cheap still not sure it was good value for money

Reservamos para un lunes a mediodía. Restaurante bastante ocupado. Zonas de asientos muy estrechas y definitivamente no tengo ni un poco de sobrepeso. El servidor fue muy atento y amable. Desafortunadamente, al realizar el pedido, se informó a un miembro de nuestro grupo de 6 personas que había un mínimo de 30 esperas para una hamburguesa en un pan. Extraordinario para un asador. Incluso la sopa requirió un retraso de 20 minutos. Corto con personal en la cocina? Se necesita un plan de contingencia. Carvery estaba bien y un servicio bastante rápido por un amable chef.

The food is average but that's to be expected for a Toby Carvery (in my opinion) but that's what you go for. Decent value for money but it does get busy and we had to wait a fair while before going to our table.

We had the 50% discount. It was a good meal but no chunky onions as in the past, no sprouts and I had a hair or a fibre in my mouth. It fell on the floor so I couldn't show it to the staff.

What a shame this place has gone so down hill. Went today and the queue for food was long and it’s because the take away service has really taken off but the same chef had to do all. Literally didn’t move in the queue for ages whilst take away orders prioritised. Great concept but needs separating unless you’re intentionally hoping customers will no longer opt to dine in? We certainly wouldn’t come back.

Ir al asador Horsforth a menudo iba el sábado 9 de noviembre de 2019, mi compañero pidió carne de vacuno, la grasa no era comestible, tenía pavo no tan bueno como el resto de la comida fría cuando trataste de cortar en Yorkshire, simplemente se desmoronó, no es un comida barata pero no tan barata cuando tienes que dejarlo todo era una vergüenza totalmente desagradable ya que normalmente disfruta de la comida allí también piensa que el chef debe pagar la carne con las pequeñas cantidades que estaba poniendo en los platos

Terrible service waited nearly 30 minutes for a dessert ended up walking out. Staff not very helpful. Worst toby carvery iv ever been to.

Visité el York Toby Carvery, ya que usamos viseting York para el día con amigos y familiares y siempre he tenido un gran servicio en otros tobys (Wetherby) en el pasado, lamentablemente, esta visita particular a Yoks Toby ha dejado mucho que desear, reservamos en la aplicación, ya que era un domingo y no quería decepcionarnos, nos llevaron a una mesa que aún no se había limpiado y cuando la mesa estaba en el piso todavía estaba cubierta con servilletas llenas de comida, queremos pedir que la coloquemos un pedido de bebidas y también una comida vegetariana para mis compañeros, no se nos dijo que solo subiéramos para obtener el asador por el resto de la parte, esta fue otra conversación con un camarero que pasaba, subimos al asador a una gran sesión de encuentros y el pudín de Yorkshire, pero desafortunadamente el resto del mostrador estaba vacío, aparte de las papas, casi pensamos que nuestras comidas cuando quisimos preguntar si la comida vegetariana era para llevarla a la mesa con una semana de antigüedad y quemada. una ceniza esto fue puntualmente s Luego, y poco después se sacó uno nuevo solo para arreglarlo, ya que era completamente no comestible y quemado, decidimos que tomaríamos postre, pero después de casi 20 minutos de espera, vino un camarero y dijo que supongo que todos terminaron enfermos. conseguir la factura para que no pudines. En resumen, una gran experiencia no se quedará con mi fiel toby carvery en willerby. Me gustaría decir cómo el gerente de York Toby estaba tratando de hacer todo lo posible para complacer y rectificar tantos usos que parecían haber tenido una mala experiencia este domingo si no fuera por él, no creo que yo habría pagado por todo lo que teníamos como grupo.

We had booked a table as we know and appreciate that Sundays can get busy. We were made to wait quite a while before being seated despite other servers saying there were tables available - just not for two? We were finally seated and our drink order was taken. The table was really wet and the area of the ‘restaurant’ we were seated in was uncomfortably warm and stuffy - many others were also complaining about this. It also lacked any atmosphere at all. We went up for the carvery and it was so disappointing. After reading they had 5 meats available they only had pork, gammon and turkey as an option. The Yorkshire puddings were like soggy pancakes (in Yorkshire!) of which the guy filling them up fobbed off and said ‘I don’t know what happened to them - I didn’t make them I just fill them up’ and the choice of veg only seemed to be undercooked carrots, peas or dry cauliflower. Not what you expect at a carvery at all, especially for nearly £11. The meal was dry despite the use of gravy and we had to go up to the bar to get more drinks/to pay the bill as the wait staff disappeared once we were seated. Safe to say we will not be returning.

We have visited this establishment for the last 3 years. At least 3 time a year. There is always 6 of us and our bill is alway over £100.00.

Laughable. Bad service. Small portions . Staff all over the place but where they should be . Wouldn't recommend and won't be going again .

Visited here with our family the place and staff was fine but as a real ale drinker the choices were abysmal in this day and age only one

My wife and visited the above for breakfast which we enjoy. On this visit we helped ourselves to breakfast from the buffet. Hen we stared eating our meal we found that it very cold. We asked for it to be reheated which a member of staff did with no problem. When our meals returned we found them very hot and enjoyable. We will be visiting again.

We attend carvery regularly and understand the roles for staff etc.

Sadly this place is a disappointment. Just the two of us but waited a while to be seated. We were put on an unset table.Then waited again to be asked if we wanted a drink. The meat portion was extremely small. Not impressed at all and sadly will not be returning. A real shame as this place used to be good.

Found this place to be very nice, the new decor is fantastic and I love the lamb on a sunday. Keep up the good work

Just been to the 11th Earl for my tea. Looking forward to the carvery. Waited to be seated stood for 5 minutes no one came to seat us. Then round the corner two customers came. on the way out as fed up waiting been there 20 minutes. Thought I would have a look in restaurant only about 4 tables occupied no staff at all like the Marie celeste. Husband went to bar to find out what was.happening young man behind bar only one said short of staff I then saw chef replenishing the carvery no idea why nobody was getting served so food just sitting under lights.decided not to stay

We visited on a quiet Saturday afternoon but the service was awful...

Not our first visit to this restaurant.

Today my wife and I went this Toby for breakfast, we've been many times and always find it good. Today when we visited there was only one member of staff on duty who appeared to be playing the bandit.. We and others waited for five minutes or so before we were served. We got our food which has aways been good but today the food although it was good it was on the cold side. We couldn't find anybody to warm it so we just put up with it. This hasn't put us off we shall visit again and hope things have been put right.

We booked for 12pm, thinking it would be busy being a Sunday and a Bank Holiday, in fact it was pretty quiet. We ordered a buffet and a vegetarian sausage and Yorkshire pudding, we got drinks and found the ice machine was not working. I did over hear another customer complaining that it had worked the previous week either

food average, meat bit grisly, yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes not crispy at all, .veg bake was nice

Booked a table for 6 for this lunch time, 2 of the party travelled from Barnsley, when we arrived there was a sign on the door, CLOSED. I understand you can't help whatever tech issues prevented the opening of the pub, but a phone call would have saved a wasted journey.

My wife and I visited this Toby on Saturday morning for breakfast which is a help yourself, eat as much as you want. We found the breakfast was very good and filling also it didn't cost a lot. The tea and coffee was also good and you could have as many cups as you want. All in all it was a good breakfast for the money. It's well worth a visit. If you leave hungry you've done it all wrong.

We visited last night for a treat tea and were incredibly impressed by the changes from our last visit.
