Toby Carvery in Leeds

I have visited this Toby Carvery several times, on a recent visit, the serving area was disgusting food everywhere, remains of a Yorkshire Pudding in the queueing area no attempt by the kitchen staff to clean it up or straighten the serving area. The food and the service was good. Don't know why the Duty Manager did not details someone to clean the area, it does not look good. I know they were busy but that is no excuse.

On first impressions very busy restaurant. Had a long wait at the food as the queue was very long. Was only given 2 slices of meat which I thought was poor. When I eventually got the the veg I found it to be all over the counter top,this looked very messy which did put me off a bit. Back at the table we found that the salt pot was damp and asking people around our table for their salt ever pot was the same.

The worst experience ever!!! Service, food and attitude of staff and management an absolute disgrace. The worst experience ever! We booked a table for 6pm for 5 people. We had to queue at the carvery for over 40 minutes to be served by an unfortunate chef who looked liked he’d been on duty for weeks without having a break (his uniform was absolutely filthy!), with a can’t be bothered attitude. Having patiently waited for our food we then approached the condiment’s table only to face there was no gravy, no apple sauce, no mint sauce and no horseradish. This is an absolute basic for a restaurant boasting to serve the ‘great British roast’. We ordered a second round of drinks which consisted of ‘warm’ white wine and flat beer. We decided to call for the attention of the manager (who apparently was not available). Her assistant (Amy) eventually appeared with a huge slice of attitude. I am aware that the hospitality industry is busy on Sundays, but I don’t expect to be served and pay for a plate of warm ‘slop’, served by a staff member with such an applauding attitude. The ‘assistant’ managers attitude was even worse and she was totally disinterested. A TOTAL DISGRACE!

Avoid avoid avoid. Booked a table for 6pm. Table want ready had to wait in the queue at the bar for 20 mins and then a further 10 mins. No where to sit. Place was absolutely sweltering hot. Obviously no air conditioning. 3 went up for carvery whilst I waited with our kid. My partner was 40 mins in the queue. Her wine was warm when she got back. Has to ask one of the waiters for extra drinks when she had finished her conversation with her colleagues. I eventually went up. 40 mins again no beef. No gravy. 10 people in the queue waiting for gravy. Food average at best. Shame I’ve been to loads of toby carvery’s over the years but I will avoid this one. Not a nice family experience.

Server was Paris and carver was Luke. Great service from all the staff. Food was lovely. Please give them a payrise ASAP.

Met friend and her grandchildren for a breakfast treat All so disappointed that the only eggs on offer were fried !!!!! Surely the chef could have done a bowl of scrambled eggs This is the second time we have been for breakfast and no alternative to fried eggs at all so won’t be coming back !!!

Precious experience nearly made us not return but there has definately been a change. The space was clean and tidy. The people were very very accommodating to ours needs, very friendly. Food was perfect, alot to choose from. Toilets even smelled fresh! Will be returning!

My latest visit will fortunately be my last. I waited over an hour for my Mac and cheese yorkie wrap and one of my family members waited for the roast dinner sandwich only to find out that they didn’t have any bread cakes. The wait time was awful and the price of the drinks are disgusting you should be warned not to go here. I understand these people are only kids but my 12 year old could do your job better than you. Act your age.

Family of three,visits Oulton quite regularly we find staff ,food and service very friendly and welcoming even when they are rushed off their feet . Our server today was Paris and she goes above and beyond very friendly brilliant customer service
