The best restaurants serving British food in Yorkshire and The Humber

Yesterday was the first time me and my partner visited this fish shop and are extremely disappointed. We wanted 2 fish butties and a bag of chips. We were told we could not have fish butties by themselves as they had to come with chips! I queried this as every other fish shop I've been to in my life has served a fish butty by itself. The 2 young girls behind the counter were extremely rude and obviously did not want to be there. I again asked why I had to have chips with both of them. The prices in this shop are among the highest I've ever seen for fish and chips and the service we recieved while paying this extortionate price was absolutely terrible. I even told the girl that the chips would be thrown in the bin and with food poverty being at its highest it was extremely wasteful amd she just shrugged her shoulders at me. to force customers to take food they don't want is just ridiculous. Me and partner will never visit another mother hubbards just because they clearly don't care about food waste and they seem to employ staff who can't be bothered

Have passed by many times and dropped by for some poultry feed and to look at what was on offer. Basically not a lot. Limited range in shop which was overpriced. Restaurant or more like basic cafe was nearly empty and lacking character. To cap it all the owner was extremely rude and certainly does not know how to attract new customers. will not be going back !

Had the pleasure of dining at the Tine restaurant as we were staying in Hawes for the weekend. The staff were so pleasant and welcoming. The decor was very tasteful and classical and loved the baby grand in the middle of the restaurant. We opted for the 3 courses for £59 and were not disappointed. The wait for food was not long at all and was piping hot. Nice little touches with different glassware for water decanters, simple but very much a conversation starter. We were made to feel we had all the time in the world and not made to feel rushed at all. Such a pleasant experience and a little gem of a place hidden in the hillside and I’ll definitely be back for a stay over. Keep doing what you are doing…

Popped into the takeaway one on cheepside on mon 5th of feb around 12.50 as had an appointment at 2pm and wanted a quick snack. When I walked in the guy behind the counter was serving someone with a big order, there was nobody else in apart from me. When the big order had left he came to me and asked me what I wanted. I said a cone of chips and he said 1.60 please. He took a 2 pound coin off me, gave me 40p back and then disappeared in the back. I thought he was waiting for fresh chips but then 2 teenagers came in and he served them with chips! I was just about to ask if he had forgotten my order when my phone rang. The guy came back to me and I put my hand up to indicate I was on the phone. When I ended the call he asked me what I wanted! I said I'm still waiting for my cone of chips! He got the chips, handed them to me and said that's 1.60! Unbelievable, the guy needs to attend a memory clinic! He actually accused me of not paying! Won't be calling there again anytime soon!

Worth Valley scooter club. Had our Xmas meal at the 3 Horses. 31 uf us. Had to pre order the meal. We had the choice of the festive menu + the normal menu. Which worked fantastic. No complaints about the food at all. Great service. Food was piping hot and really tasty. Thanks very much to the staff who made it a great night, from all at Worth Valley scooter club.

Booked as going to watch the cricket at Headingley, ideal spot, free parking, managed to check in before the game started. Room was spotlessly clean with en suite bathroom , shower over the bath in our room, not sure if any rooms ave have walk in type showers. We stayed as room only, but did sit outside and have coffee before we left to ho out for breakfast so cannot comment on food. The staff we met all lovely and helpful, reasonable rates, job done.

My daughter recommended Rand. I went for lunch on Tuesday with a friend, I was so impressed, u went again yesterday fir a friends birthday. The staff are so friendly and attentive, the food us amazing and presented lovely. They even sang happy birthday to...

Was able to stay in the campervan in the car park overnight. Had an evening meal which was beautiful, great beer and great pub food. Recently taken over by new owners, who were very friendly and accommodating. Couldn’t ask for better and will definitely stay again, fantastic views of the castle on a good day!

fish and chips on friday are excellent, been there regularly also drop in for a pint , large sign on entrance re parking and on doors leading in to pub so a few idiots who don’t look or read signs.

This cafe is now called Miss Bs pantry. Very friendly ladies and delicious food. As a coeliac myself I have to have gluten free. This is very well catered for here so my partner and I have visited on numerous occasions.Various selection of savoury dishes and cakes. Lovely latte too. Well worth a visit.

La cerca a lo largo del área de observación de animales estaba salpicada de ortigas, por lo que mi niño pequeño tenía toda la parte inferior de la pierna. Pregunté en el mostrador de admisión si tenían cremas contra la picazón y no me dijeron que me iría a casa en 20 minutos para encontrar la medicación adecuada. A su llegada, la señora que sabía quién era yo y la situación me dijo que ahora estaban llenos y no podían permitir más admisiones. Ella negó cualquier responsabilidad de mantener los terrenos seguros para los niños y fue muy indiferente a mi situación y al hecho de que un niño pequeño estaba en peligro debido a su terreno descuidado. Al final, me dejó entrar después de mi queja persistente y el área de juego era agradable. El personal definitivamente podría ser mejor en mi opinión.

Lugar encantador. El personal fue muy amigable y servicial. Preguntamos y nos dieron nuestra mesa seleccionada, que era genial ya que una pareja de nuestro grupo necesitaba espacio adicional. La comida llegó rápidamente y estaba perfectamente preparada. No me puedo quejar de este lugar.

Vino hace unas semanas por x 2 sarnis de tocino. Ambos tenían solo 2 rodajas de tocino seco demasiado cocido. Por el precio que esperaba mejor. Le di otra oportunidad hoy. Fui por tocino y huevo. Sandwich estaba listo antes de que pudiera desplazarme por Facebook, lo que era preocupante. Una vez más, tocino duro, seco y casi no comestible y huevo muy cocido. Supongo que todo estaba sentado en un Bain Marie de ahí la velocidad. No diría que es demasiado caro, pero es más que los otros 2 cafés cercanos, sin embargo la calidad de la comida es la misma, si no peor No iré de nuevo

We heard that the Angel Inn had re-opened under new management, and that the pub had been given a make-over and were now doing really good food - so we thought we would go and check it out! We went along mid-afternoon on Thursday 25th January, 2024, the place is very clean, warm and welcoming, a nice, cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Louise the manager, who we took-to immediately, is so enthusiastic and passionate about running a good pub. They have a wide range of drinks and the menu although limited at present, is set to be extended, and they do Sunday lunch. The chef, an ex-army chef but with lots of civilian experience in restaurants too, is also passionate about providing great, home-made food. We very much liked the look of things, so we booked for Sunday lunch - we went along on Sunday 28th January - the food did not disappoint! We had a choice of beef, pork or chicken, or we could have some of each. The plate came out with the meat, Yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes, roast potatoes, along with it came a large dish of vegetable and a gravy boat. As promised, everything was home-made, cooked from scratch and as we expected, totally delicious! Then came dessert, we all had treacle sponge with custard, but there was a choice of jam sponge, apple crumble or cheese-cake, - home made, and it too was delicious!, and all at a reasonable price - well worth it! We will be back - but we are also going to go along mid-week and check out their menu offers - they are going to be getting wine and drinks offers too - what more could you want! 👍😁.

What a good night they were excellent in the table service getting people out for 10 pm they did an amazing job
