We were visiting Alcester and popped in to The Bear for lunch. It's a characterful building, the food was very good and reasonably priced and the service was exceptional. They also offer a seniors menu, which seemed good value, although we didn't order from it. Recommend.

Popped in on Sunday, with a group of friend, 7 of us. Had a latte and coffee & walnut cake. Both were delicious; amazing bit of cake, coffee was lush, great sized portion Cafe was full and had a great atmosphere to it. A gem on the highstreet

We came as walk ins a few weeks ago. I can honestly say this was the best Sunday Lunch I have had out in a very long time. Plenty on the plate and well presented with lots of gravy and real homemade Yorkshire puddings! All piping hot and beautifully cooked! Staff were lovey too. Really couldn't fault it!

Beautiful venue - on the pricier side but the roasts in particular are worth the money

I've eaten here a number of times over that last few years and it's always been a pretty good experience, even if it's not always been my first choice. The chain has generally been very well regarded, which is why I was upset to learn they'd been bought out by Fuller's. Which are in my experience purveyors of poor fayre at premium prices, with the assumption that the setting will go some way to emolliate your disappointment. I was a little reluctant to return for an annual pre-Christmas dinner with friends, and again it wasn't my first choice, but I had heard good reports from people who had dined post-takeover and decided to give it a shot. Two of our party ate from the Christmas prix fixe menu and myself and another took one look at it an elected to dine from the standard menu. The main objection being that the Christmas menu carried very little in the way of Christmas food, the closest thing to a roast dinner being the braised beef, which carried a hefty £10 premium on top of a set price that didn't exactly scream 'good value' over the a la carte offering. Starters and mains came in a timely fashion, with the food generally being acceptable but by no means exceptional, only the trout "gravlax" starter causing any major disappointment. However we twice needed to go to the bar and remind them that we had ordered drinks. This was repeated again with the desert order, and then again with additional drinks so all in all I think the service is probably charitably described as 'inattentive.' The cheese board, from prix fixe carried an additional £5 premium on top of the £10 for the beef, making a bit of a mockery of the idea of a set menu. All in all the food was ok and the service was poor. We somehow managed to spend £100 more than last year having a pretty much identical meal, nothing was good value, and to top the whole affair off we were asked very nicely by a member of staff if we wouldn't mind sodding off as they had another booking. Won't be going back for anything more complex than a burger.

I’d like to give 5 stars as eat here often and their Sunday lunches are wonderful. However they have a real problem with bringing out food in bits and pieces. So for example my Bakewell tart was brought out slightly warm with no custard. I returned it to have it heated through and to ask where custard was. Then husband’s bacon sandwich arrived before my tart and custard. It happens all the time. Why can’t they send it all out together. It’s a complete lack of professionalism. Secondly the decaf coffee cafetière - it came already plunged. When I poured it it was incredibly weak- I returned it and the second time it was fine I am only leaving this review because it’s always happening and spoils our visits! They need some proper staff training.

We visited Arrow Mill recently and were 5 of us for Sunday lunch. The food was very poor. Overcooked, undercooked and the meat was tough. We were not asked how things were and no one liked to make a fuss in front of others but I think you should be very selective about your choice. Great venue spoilt by the food quality and attention to detail by the staff.

A good village centre pub. No thrills but it does exactly what it needs to do.

Good location with a good sized car park. Perfectly ok room However, a very peculiar ‘herbal plant’ smell through the corridors….

6 of us went for xmas day traditional lunch. We were very very disappointed. It was more like a la cart. There were no potato’s at all on the plate. No roasts no mash. The starters were nice and the desserts. But the main spoilt it for us all. Service was good. But I did go to the bar rather than ask the waitress to get me another pint. I stood there for what seemed like an eternity. While the barmaid chatted to an obvious mate of hers after serving her with around 8 different drinks. Then just as she pulled the pump. The lager ran out. So I had to wait another 7mins for her to go and change the barrel. By this time there was a big queue. So all in all we will not be going to Harvester on a Xmas day again for lunch.
