The Wheatsheaf Harvester in Stratford-on-Avon

Chips awful, flatbread tasteless, Halloumi cooked to rubber, I have given this restaurant 5 out of 5 previously and it deserved it, I don’t know what has changed, it was like a completely different place, it’s very sad and extremely noticeable.

Amazing staff and food was good. The waitress Chelsea was very attentive and a joy when she served us. Food was hot and quick

Absolutely stunning meal. Top service, polite and efficient. Will definitely be coming back again. The meat was cooked to perfection, the chips just right and the vegetables nice and fresh. May make it a weekly night out

We went on a Thursday evening as a couple. I ordered gammon egg pineapple chips. My egg was solid and rubbery and I asked for it to be changed and wasn’t much better when it came back ! Pineapple ring was black and shrivelled and chips were hard . I can only assume it was left on a hot plate for some time before it got to me. We gave them a second chance and booked a table for 10 on the following Saturday. We waited quite a time for our meals but the steak that was supposed to be medium rare was more medium to well done. One was medium and was well done and the other tough We didn’t send them back as we would have been waiting even longer and the rest of the party would have finished. Disappointing. We took the remaining steak home in a doggy bag to do something with but you can see it wasn’t medium rare or medium ! Nothing wrong with your food but something wrong with your Chef !

We waited to be seen to for 10 minutes, asking a waitress to seat us. We then was sat down to filthy menus and the duty manager took 15 minutes fo take a drinks order, this left us with the only option to walk out

Disgusting service certain staff are so rude always the same ones. Unfortunately it’s the only local place with outside space for thre kids so we have to come back but service never fails to amaze me. Waited 30 mins for a kids meal no sorry just a few shrugged shoulders between staff. Kids meal served is as awful as always 8 chips on a plate. Wouldn’t recommend this place unless you have limited options.

Service was amazing and the food was to die for! We came with our 3 children for dinner and had a lovely evening. We had the chicken skewers, dirty bird burger and three children’s meals (ribs, pasta and fish fingers) which were all delicious and the kids even got a free desert !! Will definitely be coming back!!

I've had much better food at Harvesters in the past. So sad when I read reviews for the last few months these experiences are regularly stated with assurance by the team that they will pass on and improve. The Wheatsheaf clearly needs to act on these negative reviews.

Well what can I say gentle readers The first and hopefully last place that colsaw is severed boiling, the chicken pieces are smaller than the burnt veg, chips dry and hard. Mine was so much better with red hot plate, hard chips and dry chicken. The server was trying her best with little mangemwnt support. As a place know for the salad bar you really need to have salad on to pick from, mixture of all bits in most bowls that had something in them the other half empty

Disgusting service from staff who blame their booking service, instead of what’s in front of there eyes! An 85yr old lady with cancer, who can hardly work being forced to walk to the far end of the restaurant to be seated! When we complained, she rolled her eyes and said, well I didn’t know she was poorly! Obvious to most! When shown the request for accessibility, blamed the system and we were then told to leave by an unprofessional manager called Dee, as she was on her way home and got a call to deal with myself and 85yr old mother.! Just because we didn’t accept the extremely poor service to an obviously very sick lady DO NOT GO!

As a family we always celebrate Christmas on boxing day, and from the start of booking our table 2 a minor change at the last minute they were very accommodating. We were greeted promptly and had a lovely waitress called Megan looking after us, from start to finish service and food was excellent. Thank you to Michelle and her team for making our late Christmas day special

Just got back from breakfast with Santa. Food arrived quickly and was really nice. Staff all really lovely and said by to us all as we passed each one on the way out. Refurb looks really nice. Santa was such a nice man. Took so much time to talk to my little girl. He’s probably the nicest Santa she’s seen this year, so if you could pass on my message, that would be great. Will definitely be back for another meal.

Popped in to see how the refurb had gone and was absolutely blown away by how lovely it looks now. Hadn’t booked and realised as soon as we got there we should have as it was breakfast with Santa and very busy but they managed to find us a lovely table. Service was absolutely fantastic. Emma served us and honestly could not fault her. 10/10 service, food and environment.

The service was excellent from Jemma and the food was spot on , all hot and not waiting long at all . Definitely will be coming back .

5* service from start to finish! We came on Friday evening to see the new look, we wasn’t disappointed. We were served by jemma who was brilliant, especially with our two girls. We will be back, keep up the good work :)

Called in for breakfast, it wasn't overly busy. Sat at table for 20mins waiting for order to be taken. Coffee arrived 20mins later but after 45mins in total no sign of food order. Decided to leave without eating.....paid for coffees but not even a discount offered for the inconvenience. As we left there were at least 8 meals sat under the hotplate waiting to be delivered to tables. Very disappointing visit and left unfed.

Went in for breakfast which was fine .. the young lady serving was lovely and attentive. The prices are good .. hot drinks should be included in breakfast price, they have refillable soft sugery drinks so why not coffee and tea. The downside of the pub is its basically shabby.. I wouldn't go as far as filthy but shabby/ dirty fits well . An easy fix with a hard clean and 20 gallons of paint..

Me and my husband have been to this pub plenty of times. We always get a warm welcome, we don't book and they always fit us in. We have had the same server several times, her name is Jemma and she's great. Nothing is ever too much trouble. With me having a nut allergy she will always check I can have the ingredients in food. Always got a smile on her face and very polite. Jemma keep up the fabulous work and hope to see you again soon.

Love having a beer here as I can take it my dogs too the garden is also massive so when weather is nice they like to have a little walk too. As it’s right near the park it’s the perfect location for doggy lovers!

Great night out with friends. Staff are welcoming and very accommodating. Large amount of food on plate, salad bar now help yourself too which is much better. Only negative bread rolls abit dry.
