The best restaurants serving British food in Oswestry South Shropshire West Midlands

We came across this cafe during our recent visit to the town. The food was lovely as was the coffee. The staff were lovely and attentive and made us feel very welcome. Thank you and we will definitely aim to come back when we next visit. The takeaway cheese scone we had later was also really lovely.

Hatters is a hidden gem, found on the front of Oswestry market. Amazing coffee and yummy tosties, the best in Oswestry by far! I can’t wait to go back and try out a waffle bowl or pancakes!

Our first visit here and won't be out last. We had already had lunch on the way to Oswestry so we just had cappuccinos and a scone. The scone was huge & came warm. It was huge & was delicious. We chose the Christmas special which was a cinnamon flavoured one with a large knob of butter & real fruit jam. The coffee was also very nice too & all served by friendly polite staff. The price was very reasonable, just be aware that payment is cash only which is clearly signed at the entrance.

When I went in I didn't need to book for a hotel room I just needed to use the bathroom from being on the road most the day. The only thing wrong with the bathrooms was that when you walked in, you could walk through a doorway and it would lead outside so anybody could break in at any moment. The wicks were really small and the bathroom door locks were a bit broken so it wouldn't lock and when I got it to lock it wouldn't open again.

Been here lots of times now, always have a great meal, plenty of options to choose from. The staff are all friendly and helpful

I’m disgusted by the way I was treated here today. I went in for a cake and a coffee, and when I asked if this was possible I was told by a patronising waitress “yes, but it’s table service.” - well, obviously. I picked out what I wanted and we were told to wait to be seated, absolutely fine. Walked over to the waiting area, turned around and saw the two women I’d spoken to blatantly talking about me and laughing. I think the service of the two women here was absolutely appalling. I will never be returning, they must learn some manners. Disgraceful behaviour if you ask me.

We stopped off for a quick look round the town, and decided to eat here. We were not disapointed. The food was excellent, large portions and freshly cooked. Lots of options for everyones tastes on the menu. Was comfortable and cosy environment to eat in. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great value for money

Excellent food and a great atmosphere

Really different, arranged like a medieval dungeon in places which adds to the atmosphere. Karaoke was fun with many songs to choose from.

Disappointed. Wed eve about 6pm Everything flooding in oil. 3 cod & chips. Paper dripping by the time got home. Loaded fries - hardly worth paying the 'extra' for the chicken topping. Cod Roe - nothing like ever tasted before. Will not be returning.

I stayed at this hotel with a colleague from my company. My company paid for everything. This colleague acted like he was wealthy because he paid for unlimited drinks and meals with the company’s money, but he’s nothing more than an arrogant, single old man. He was always drunk and made stupid jokes with the hotel staff, who remained polite and tried to humor him, making him feel funny with his ridiculous behavior. I apologize to the hotel staff for his behavior.

We received our food promptly and politely, the bill was ok. Nice clientele. I would certainly use again. The premise is well decorated and you can use the hotel’s carpark.
