We came across this cafe during our recent visit to the town. The food was lovely as was the coffee. The staff were lovely and attentive and made us feel very welcome. Thank you and we will definitely aim to come back when we next visit. The takeaway cheese scone we had later was also really lovely.

I had a lovely welcome when I went in with my dog. She was offered a treat pretty much straight away. The menu was lovely, a bit of something for everyone. I decided on Welsh rarebit and an oatmilk latte. The latte came and it was good and tasty, but not bitter. There was water to help yourself to on the side, near the till. The rarebit arrived piled high with the cheese mix on sourdough toast. It was excellant, my dog enjoyed it too. There was a side salad, which I didn't want, but it looked good. I had a lovely chat to one of the owners about concerts. I opted fora toasted teacake with butter and jam. It was large and tasty, my dog helped me with this too. I bought two slices of lemon drizzle cake for my parents. They said it was beautiful and light. I enjoyed my visit to the Courtyard and will definitely return soon.

What an amazing hidden gem this place is❤️❤️❤️ We stumbled across this place on a mooch around Oswestry and oh my life aren’t we glad we did. The food alone was amazing but the customer service was outstanding. As a vegan and vegetarian we usually end up with not a great deal of choice but here my hubby had herby mushrooms in a jacket potato and it was lush and the drinks and alternate milk were fab.

Delightful little cafe. Brought back memories of my childhood going to a cafe as payment for helping with the shopping! Good service, clean, simple but substantial snacks served by people who care about their business. Small and busy place. I would have given more stars but we couldn’t get service for a cake ( though tbh didn’t need) Definitely go for a lovely cheese on toast with a twist

This place is simply lovely. It was how attractive the setting was that drew us in. Boy was it worth it! We only had teas, coffees and a slice of rocky road but it was the best rocky road I have ever eaten. Both Sandra and TJ (the owners) spoke to us whilst we were there and were so proud when we told them how good we thought this place was. They really do deserve to do well. On a slightly more unusual note they have one of the best toilet doors I have ever seen. You really do just have to read it. Will we go back. Absolutely yes.

We were visiting Oswestry for the day and wanted a cute little Tea Room to visit for tea and cake. This place certainly didn't disappoint. As the name suggests there is a courtyard to sit in which is very pretty but quite popular so we sat inside. The inside is also lovely and has traditional tearoom style decor. Staff are friendly and helpful and there is table service. We chose tea and latte and some Biscoff cake. We were pleased to find they also serve a choice of milk alternative as I prefer Oat Milk. I would definitely recommend this place and would visit again.

After a disappointing visit to the closed heritage railway we visited the nearby town center and found the Courtyard Tearooms. We were served by the friendly waitress staff at our table and ordered coffee's. The waitress apologized because of the backlog but it was not long before our coffee's came. A very pleasant area outside to sit and have coffee's. Recommended visit.

Happened across this by chance and wow what a find! It was a little too damp to sit in the courtyard itself on the day we visited but the inside was welcoming. The staff are very pleasant, greeted with smiles and the whole place is lovely and clean. We only intended to have a cuppa but decided to try food - omelette with spinach and soup of the day (pea and mint) with cheese scone - both absolutely delicious. Scone was warm and soup homemade , the omelette was light and fluffy with just enough spinach, served with salad. Definitely recommended . We didn’t partake in cake but can say they looked mouth watering delectable. And whilst seems strange to add, the facilities were clean and whilst it’s just the one it is worth a visit just to give you a chuckle - you will know what I mean when you pay a visit! We will definitely be back and try the cakes next time

The cutest little dog friendly cafe! We were looking for somewhere to eat with the dog and stumbled upon this little hidden cafe. We sat outside underneath the umbrellas and there were blankets on the chairs too, incase you got too cold. The staff came out to take our order and Scamp the dog was given some dog biscuits too. Inside the cafe is so lovely too. There aren't many tables inside, but still room to move through the cafe. We had a toastie to share, as Scamp was getting impatient but the food was lovely and reasonably priced. Would certainly go back and visit again.

Looking for somewhere to eat a late lunch in Oswestry on our way eastwards, home following a week in North Wales, I took the advice offered on Trip Advisor to try The Courtyard Tearooms. We had to pay to park nearby, but the Tearooms offered a reasonably priced menu, which offered a number of good choices, making it worthwhile. I had the day’s special of cheese and onion quiche. The quiche was tasty, light and fluffy, served warm with freshly cooked new potatoes, a generous amount of salad and creamy, chunky coleslaw. My husband had a sausage and fried egg sandwich, which he also enjoyed, washed down with a cappuccino decorated with a seasonably suitable chocolate sprinkle in the shape of a snowflake. We would certainly call again if we were in the town, perhaps to try one of the delicious looking cakes on offer. Highly recommended.

We visited Oswestry for the first time in many years on a sunny Saturday, and decided to walk around studying the numerous eateries in this pleasant town (which on the day had a healthy 'buzz' about it) before making our selection. We eventually happened on this option which nestles in the Courtyard (no surprises there!) of the Griffin Inn in Leg Street. We were initially attracted by the menu which was both interesting and attractively priced, and then moved into an inside table (the outdoor ones were predictably popular on what was a delightful Summers day).Service was prompt and very friendly and we were able to select items with a 'local' element. The light lunches were served promptly and with a homely approach throughout. We felt that our meals far surpassed expectations, and represented very good value. We always enjoy, small, essentially locally operated venues as we visit different places because it so often seems that those working there put a great deal of themselves into making the experience work. This was very much in that vein and we are happy to post a very favourable report about our visit as a whole.

We planned to visit Oswestry today but had never had lunch here before so looked on the internet for recommendations.. This little gem of an eatery was highly rated and so we tried it. Well - it is nothing short of SUPERB! The pictures showed that it might be more than your basic tearoom and the setting, in a courtyard off Leg Street makes it more like a lunch time bistro. There are several tables outside and more inside. A very hot day so we found a shaded table outside. A quite extensive menu with a very attractive salad section, featuring several choices to which we each added 4 components from the list below. We both had cheese and ham to which I added green, rice, pasta and coleslaw. A simple bottle of dressing was brought with the other condiments, very efficiently and quickly and our meals were served soon afterwards. Absolutely brilliant - proper ham, mature cheese - 2 good sized wedges and salads as fresh as could be. After a poor culinery experience elsewhere on Sunday we were happy that this lovely place did us so proud.A range of desserts and we chose apple pie [with ice cream] and chocolate fudge cake [ice cream again! custard also available] which were superb again.Staff who are quietly brilliant, a wonderful setting, super food and very reasonably priced.menu [Breakfasts, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and other delights available]

A hidden gem in the heart of Oswestry. Three adults for lunch, superb chilli, rice, mini naan bread and salad. Ham and cheese salad with many side salads. Great old fashioned puds, the ginger and date and old fashioned rice pud, were both great. The service was first class and I would recommended this gem.

The place is small but caters for everything you need in a cafe. Very quaint and the staff were very helpful. Would definitely recommend it.

On a windy and wet Monday we were delighted to come across this hidden gem in the middle of Oswestry. Very little was open but we were pleased to fin the Courtyard Tea Rooms. We were immediately welcomed in and after ordering didn't have long to wait before our food arrived. Food was great value for money and the large pot of tea was more than welcomed!Staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for all the customers that were there at the time of our visit. Will definitely visit again when we are in the area.

Tucked away in a quiet spot, unaffected by traffic and close to the shops and market an ideal place to have a coffee. The inside of the tea room is quaint , clean and warm.Coffee is nicely served and hot. When the weather is warmer the outside seating area is very pleasant the walls being decorated with metal butterflies.

Lovely little tucked away place off the road but central. There was a good range of food/snacks with quick and very friendly service. The coffees are good too and come in good sized cups. There is a great collection of fresh cakes to choose from too! We were very pleasantly pleased by the bill too - very reasonable. Seating is tightly packed and 'intimate' but there is great seating outside for when the summer comes! Dogs allowed outside too. Well worth a visit!

Lovely owners and service with a smile. Extensive menu, something for everyone, really nice sitting outside in the summer among the flowers. Good homemade cakes too!

Eager to find a cafe during a rain shower in Oswestry, I fortunately spotted the Courtyard's sign outside its hideaway location. My wife and I only had tea and a scone/teacake, but we were impressed by the friendly welcome, the interesting range of teas, the attractive crockery and the ambience. The cafe also had a range of meals available, and we heard other customers expressing satisfaction with them.

Called in today for a nice lunch, but very dark and uninviting, could it be closed ? Once we were inside we were informed that only coffee was available, no food whatsoever. Having looked at Facebook reviews this place looked great but it turned out to be a waste of a journey so we spent our money elsewhere and will not try again. Very disappointing.

Tonight Tim brought us the Pork special in breadcrumbs with veg, a bacon and mushroom risotto ,bolognaise and piquant prawn starters with a delicious creamy rice pudding for afters. All were hot and delicious. What a treat to have a home delivery and be able to enjoy food without the washing up.Highly recommended if you live in or near Ludlow. Thanks to Chef Nick, the lovely Deborah and of course, Tim.

My husband and I (with our dog) stopped here for lunch on our way to Hodnet Gardens. We obviously had to sit in the bar area due to our dog being with us, but this was a lovely quiet little area which suited us fine. The food was beautiful - we both had a starter and a main, and the quality was fantastic. If we are in the area again, we will definitely be back!
