Really different, arranged like a medieval dungeon in places which adds to the atmosphere. Karaoke was fun with many songs to choose from.

Oswestry’s premier post 2300 drinking venue. I’d describe my experience as akin to that of what I assume going drinking in Kabul at the moment is like “terrifying with dangers lurking around every corner” Pros - It has a roof and wasn’t on fire Cons - The list would be too long to begin to try and type out

The Vaults has almost become our local to go to for a drink before we head back home. The food menu is good and so is the selection of drinks and wines. The Offa's Dyke (Welsh: Clawdd Offa ) local brewed ale is really good especially the "Grim Reaper" porter which is my favourite!! Lovely inside and out with a big beer garden at the back.... A portion of chips to share along with a glass of wine and a pint of real ale just seem to be a perfect start to our weekend......

OK pub, every time I visit there's the same woman getting drinks off different fellas, unsure if she's employed by them but seems to be, makes me feel a bit sad for the men she's playing with. Her kids regularly come in to see her but she soon gets rid of them, kids can be so annoying when mummy is trying to get hammered at mens expense.

I was visiting my mother and decided to take a look around town, at lunchtime I didn’t know where to go but had seen a weatherspoons (you know what you are getting) but I noticed a sign outside the vaults saying home made food and thought I would try it, what a great decision!! Not great first impression walking through the bar but the lounge area was lovely and the lady behind the bar was very friendly, ordered the food and out came the most delicious home made food, my only complaint is that I ordered too much and I only have myself to blame ha ha. I made a point of thanking the chef. Will definitely be back. Well worth a visit.

The Old Vaults looks and feels like a proper market town pub, and it feels light years away from the chain coffee places and burger joints all over the place. We called in for a light lunch and chose from a wide ranging menu - Iand had a perfectly cooked mushroom omelette with proper home made chips, and my wife had tuna and cheese wraps with a few chips and great, peppery, fresh, crunchy homemade coleslaw, accompanied by two half pints from the local Offa's Dyke brewery. No piped background music, just the racing running quietly on a TV in the corner and chat from friendly local regulars. Quick friendly service and the bill came to under £10. A gem!

Booked a table for two for the day before Christmas Eve. Enjoyed home made turkey dinner and stuffing with roast potatoes, creamy mashed potatoes, carrots, sprouts and red cabbage. This was followed by chocolate fudge cake me wife wife and Christmas pudding for me. Finally a mince pie and coffee. All washed down with a rum and coke and a large glass of white wine for my wife and 1 pint of Offa's Dyke bitter, 2 large glasses of red wine and a brandy for me. All this came to a very reasonable £44.15. Where else could you get such a Christmas dinner for just over £20.00? Shame that the Old Vaults cannot be scored 7 STARS for value.

Called in here as a family of 4 with another family of 4 - not always easy to find somewhere to find somewhere to seat us all and more than that something to suit everyone on the menu. There was ample seating in the garden at the back with a large grass area for the children to run around. Menu was very good and could have chosen several things - the price was great. Children could eat for £3.95 but the plate was full and the homemade chips very tasty!! The service was great and nothing was too much trouble. I would definitely call there again and would recommend for a good meal at a good price.

Been to The Vaults on the last three occasions we've been in the area; we used to always go to The Fox Inn, but this is now for sale and doesn't offer food, so we tried The Vaults. The Vaults doesn't look much from the outside but please do go in......walk through to the rear bar and you will find it is very comfortably furnished and homely. I always have the all day breaklfast which is terrific value for money (last time it was only £4.95) and freshly cooked with fresh produce (lovely sausages and black pudding !). The staff are really quick and friendly and wiling to advise as to the choice of real ales et.c. As it's my son's school's half-term this week (Feb 2015) we'll be in Oswestry again on 19 Feb. and will defibnitely be3in The Vauklts at lunch-time. Can't wait !

Looks a bitty scruffy on the outside but it is a proper town pub, as you work your way to the back the place moves from proper pub, to pub with food, then to nice comfy tub chairs, and then it opens through to a really big beer garden.
