Called in for a drink. Disinterested landlord could barely make eye contact with us. No attempt to converse and mumbled thank you as we left. There was no one else in the pub, I’m not surprised. We won’t go back.

Well want can I say, falsely advertising its a Bed and breakfast we saw no signs of that and when we got there we were welcome by a sign saying ring here if no answer then phone so no reception. And we was greeted by the owner moaning about his wife all the way to our rm. When shown in the rm we were told that we had a fridge and microwave so straight away you knew that they didn't do breakfast. Had a note given us information about if we needed anything then to phone well the first number didn't work as it had two many numbers as we had a dirty bed cover when we went to bed so the first night was not good so we contacted the owner but because we were trying the number we was told to use and it wasn't working, we finally got through to them but by then it was 14.00 ish and was told nothing could be done about the dirty cover so I said just pop a clean one and I will do it myself. Well the shocking thing is that the house keeper had been into our room to remake the bed by putting the dirty cover back up on the top of the bed.

Breakfast was certainly an interesting experience. The incredibly friendly staff certainly had their own unique system of handling groups of over 4 people so you can imagine their delight when we arrived with a group of 20. Potential customers should be aware that you categorically must not order for yourself but through a middle party instead. If you try to order your own food or drink I suggest you speak to the responsible person in your party for them to relay your order to the very lovely rosey cheeked attendant at the till. In my case our responsible person was only 3 foot away from me but we made sure to follow the rules as to not cause an eruption of chaos in the kitchen. When I received my apple juice, I really admired its antique look. The sediment at the bottom and the out of date use by label really added to the chic worn vibe that this hip establishment embellishes by the bucket load. The cleaner is obviously very lucky and has had a long holiday, (possibly to another farm shop the costa del Sol). I say this as the building has acquired an impressive collection of cobwebs in their absence. Now the main event BREAKFAST!!! Everyone likes to start their day with a hearty meal, I feel the two members of staff whole heartedly agreed with me as they left a few extras in some of our food to make sure we didn’t go hungry. One fantastic long black hair that I’m sure is packed full of protein (looked like a moustache hair, but I’m not a barber). One no longer buzzing fly that gave my crispy bacon that extra crunch. I also stayed hydrated through the water that was served to me from a designer tea pot that had amazing tea colouring and stains within in. Once I had consumed my meal I made sure to use the toilet facilities to rid my ablutions apart from the skid marks and the mixtures of cobwebs and urine the toilets were delightful. In all it was an unforgettable magical experience. Shamefully I am stuggling to give it 5 stars and there was a small chip in the plate my breakfast was served on. 4 stars.

Friendly and warm greeting. Coffee was good. Inviting menus. Breakfasts looked good. Attention to detail required. Dirty tables first thing on a Monday morning and shelving!!

Went into the hut to have breakfast but had to walk out for the smell of stale fat from the kitchen and they had not started yet was sickening, how anyone can sit in there with that smell is beyond me and pay top end prices. We left and walked down the hill and went past the back of the kitchen and had to hold our breath until we got passed it

Popped in on Monday lunchtime and very much enjoyed scampi and chips - both were excellent quality and nicely presented - mushy peas are at extra cost which is fair enough. Tartare sauce is also at an extra cost and that is not so fair. Neither is it very good containing too much dill and little capers or gherkins if any. Fish and chips shops have faired badly since the pandemic. Oil prices sky high and fuel prices through the roof in addition to this - staff costs and pretty much everything else has gone up. But it’s friendlier to the customer if tartare sauce etc is included in the cost. People don’t like extra costs. Menus could do with reprinting as they are torn and don’t look good - napkins could be a little better and a slice of lemon with the fish would upgrade the dishes a little. These are not complaints just observations. The sign outside says one of the top ten fish bars in the UK. With. Little tweaking it could be No.1

Excellent food and service, and beautiful ice cream. I had the chicken quesadilla and it was excellent. We also had beef chilli nachos, also delicious 😋
