We enjoyed an evening meal here using our Tastecard. It was the only restaurant listed locally to where we were staying, but glad we went there. Good choice of dishes, good portion sizes and good service. Would recommend.

Overpriced for the quality of food, wine uninteresting, but not expensive, is this a bar or a restaurant? Too many tables , too close together, friendly staff though.

We had often drove past the snooty fox whilst holidaying in Looe & really wanted to try their advertised carvery. From the outside the pub looked lovely. When we arrived we were told that the carvery was not on. After ordering mains from the menu we waited 45+mins & the waiter kindly offered us some cheesy nachos to pass the time, however they arrived about 2mins before our meal. We were really disappointed with the food, my husband chose stuffed crab which tasted very fishy & was very dry. Mine was not much better.Real shame.

we attempted to eat here on a lovely summers days for lunch expecting to have something to eat , but to my amazement the place was closed which I couldn't believe considering the beautiful weather, all we saw on arrival was a chamber maid changing a bed and a huge sign saying closed.so wasn't very impressed. I wouldn't bother driving out of your way for somewhere to be closed!!

Having just arrived back home, I am very surprised at the previous reviews left on this site, on arrival we were met in the bar by Stewart, he was very welcoming and showed us to our room, Karen, his wife then asked us if we were going to eat in the establishment in the evening, we accepted the offer and had a very enjoyable meal, both had crab cake starters, I had lamb shoulder (very nice but so filling), my wife had the homemade pie (steak & ale) she then commented it was the best pie she has had for ages, ALL food came out hot and presented well, Stewart & Karen were attentive but not overbearing, my wife they had homemade apple crumble & custard, which she really enjoyed, food was served as and when required, to sum up our experience, car park good with plenty of spaces available, bar well stocked , room clean, tidy, spacious, well stocked with beverages & bed very comfortable, breakfast choice superb, full English very good, but all options available, guaranteed a good night’s sleep, will definitely be coming back, met a couple who have been going there for ten years, great weekend

We were in Cornwall with our Grandson aged 3, my sister and her 2 foster children, aged 2 & 3 and my 82 year old mother. We chose this establishment as we were pleased to see the childrens climbing frame, swing and trampoline on passing. We were shown to our table and ordered our food. The children, one of who has special needs, were becoming restless in their high chairs waiting for their meal but on arrival of their food they settled down to eat. When we had finished our meals we ordered from the desert menu and was asked bluntly by the proprietor taking the order, if we would care to eat it in the bar.... When we declined she looked annoyed and walked off. My Husband then commented as to the reason why the restaurant was called the 'Snooty' fox due to her manner. When she returned she asked what he meant by his remark so he told her it was due to the way she approached and spoke to us. The proprietor then stated " Not everyone loves your children as much as you do", followed by "Can you pay your bill and leave", Which we did.All 3 children were sat in their seats, I could understand if they were running around disrupting others but they were not. The 3 year old has special needs and has hyper sensory behaviours where she makes noises and no matter how we tried to placate her she was bored with waiting. I feel we were treated in a discriminatory manner and I want to let others know that although this restaurant advertises itself as Family Friendly, It is definately not. If they do not want children in their establishment then they should not give the impression that they do, such as by providing the play equipment outside.

We decided to visit this establishment as on first appearance it appeared to be family friendly with a climbing frame, swing and trampoline for all to see....How wrong were we. Myself and my husband arrived with our 3 year old grandson, my sister with her 2 foster children, 2 and 3 yrs and my mother 82 yrs. After ordering our meal we sat outside whilst the children played and after 20 minutes we went inside where we were shown through to the restaurant. The 2 youngest, one of whom has special needs were in highchairs and my grandson was sat next to me. The children became restless and the 3 year old who has hyper sensory behaviours started to become restless. When the meal arrived they were soon settled so we ordered desert. The proprietor frowned when we did and gruffly asked if we would like to eat it in the bar to which we declined. My husband then remarked that he now understood why it was called the Snooty Fox. With this the proprietor stated "Not everyone loves your children as much as you do" then she asked ask to pay our bill and Leave. Not only was this discrimination towards the disabled this was utterly disgraceful behaviour. You should not promote a family friendly pub if you do not want children in your restaurant. DISGRACEFUL

Decided to give this place a try after staying away for some years when my mother-in-law came to visit. Good choice of beers & ciders. Our main courses were excellent but the desserts let them down, along with some of the 'chat' by the serving staff.

Having drove past the Snooty Fox for many years, we decided to try the Sunday Carvery. My 8 year old grandaughter was with us,so I thought I would let her do the review through a childs eyes. We drove into the large car park, I was a bit suprised to see a trampoline, climing frame and a slide in the garden, good news. The bar was not so busy, the restaurant was packed. There was a problem with our reservation, this was sorted out quickly by the friendly staff, we had to sit in the bar but we were happy there. We went to the buffet table and had four meats to chose from, I had beef and turkey it was lovely the beef was nice and chewy. There was lots of vegtables I chose swede, carrots, potatoes and cabbage. I nearly managed it all. The place was nice and clean and grandad thought it was good value. Thanks for reading my review on the Snooty Fox.

Festive Afternoon Tea this afternoon was very disappointing. It is clearly a stop gap to keep income trickling in between Sunday lunch and evening dinner service. The biggest issue is with the service, very inattentive, unconcerned staff not in the slightest bit interested in providing a professional level of attention. The afternoon tea was acceptable but not exactly delightful let alone memorable or to be recommend to others. Delightful setting with the hotel beautifully appointed and well decorated for Christmas, just a pity the staff were not switched on at all. Management at fault and it would appear no investment made in staff training.

For a spot of lunch, my wife and two children decided to eat here. Never again. We settled on the beef style kebabs (on a skewer). With rice. The beef was tough, tastless, rough and badly cooked. I was a butcher, I should know! Rice was microwaved but still undercooked! The salad that came with it was soggy, rotten and floppy. The best part of the meal was the kids fish goujons. We spent 70 quid (including drinks) on some of the worst food I've eaten.
