Really good Sunday roast - and beautiful spot overlooking the river

100% my most favourite place to be in Cornwall. The view, the food, the service and the drinks, everything is 5 star!

Great place, a limited menu, but the food was really nice. Excellent service. Lovely views of the Helford River.

Great location. We only stayed for drinks but what a view for a pint. Loved watching the ferry and boats moving about. It was an unreal location and view.

Fascinating little pub in an area that feels like it could be at the end of the world. Stunning views, tasty and fresh food, and very warm hospitality.

Great foodie pub, you do have to go into order but the service was still great. Food was quick for the quality. Food was awesome

British pub food, at its very best! Let alone the fantastic venue, the food was outstanding! The starter dish of Roasted squash on toast is not to be missed. We had mains of Seabass Linguine and fish and chips. Sorry about the photo of the Linguine, which is nearly wholly eaten. Both dishes were really the really above and beyond. Enjoy!

The Ferryboat is a great pub with the most lovely views from the terrace across the Helford Passage. The staff are friendly and efficient The pub itself has been designed obviously around a nautical scene and has an eclectic range of furniture and fittings that compliment building and its location. We ate the haddock tacos and whilst excellently cooked and presented I found the haddock goujon on both incredibly stingy making the dish poor value for money and somewhat detracting from the whole experience. A shame was this an error or heavy cost/margin management....

5 stars for the setting , that’s about it pay to park then terrible choice of food Just fish, fish , fish !!! Or cheese burger . I can’t eat fish , have allergic reaction I bet there’s a vegan or vegetarian/gluten free Alternate Chicken Schnitzel really ? So left without ordering.

Usually a pub at an idyllic location (in a pretty seaside cove) gets away with average food. We found the Ferryboat does excellent versions of the classics. Large portions! Chicken schnitzel was amazing. Service was efficient and friendly. Not rushed though.

Really good service, consistently delivers. Dined here three times during a lovely weeks holiday. Main standout was the service, which was excellent. Polite and attentive waiting staff, who all seem to do a great job. Food was very good, but was saved by the specials. Main menu is limited, but the specials were ace. Good beer, but again a limited and slightly pricey wine list. I’ll not mention the view, as we all know it is one of the finest spots on the Cornish coast: magnificent. Yes, there were a few posh folk there but they did not annoy as others have suggested. Well done.

I dropped in for a pint of cider following a long walk across the coastal path with my dog. I got served really quickly, the staff were friendly, and I managed to find a table outside, which was surprising given how popular this lovely little pub is. I would definitely return again.

More than one visit, to this out of the way waterside pub. It’s a nice spot, staff are great but what pleasantly surprised me was quality of food. The fish with the humble fish n chips is outstanding by any yardstick. Top marks all round.

While visiting the area on holiday we found ourselves here almost everyday. It’s positioned in a quiet and very scenic location that you can enjoy and never get tired of. Perfect for drinks and although we didn’t have dinner here we did enjoy a few light bites from the menu which were all very nice along with the service and locals.

Outstanding location. And the staff were just wonderful. Very friendly and super efficient. Lovely local Cornwall lager and a view across the bay. Car parking a mission, make sure you take the top road to the carpark otherwise you are in for a nightmare down by the water.

Really nice local pub, on a sunny day. Great location beside the estuary, there was live music playing during my visit which built atmosphere. It's busy, so at times there's a drinks collection point. Will return next time in the area

Pub at Helford Passage. Essentially one large room. Clearly a place that thrives on its food sales, and the atmosphere is more restaurant than pub, with most tables booked by 5pm. Some local beers and standard prices. 30 seconds from ferry.

Beautiful location with stunning views! Tricky to get to for some as there is quite a steep incline. But worth it. Friendly staff, great atmosphere.

The welcome from staff was second to none, we didn’t catch our waitress’s name but she was very ppolite and professional. The starter of Mackeral pate and sour dough bread was more than I expected and very tasty. All the ingredients just worked. For main I had the schnitzel which was crispy on the outside and delicious on the inside, paired with new potatoes, roasted were a delight. Will be returning, value for money with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Thank you Ferryboat

Very expensive average place. No flowers on tables or any aesthetic to our taste despite being on riverside. Mackerel pate too salty for us

Great pub. Right by the water, lots of outdoor seating, friendly staff and lots of room for children and dogs. Excellent new coffee van selling a good range of freshly made coffees along with cakes and pasties. Very helpful lady making the coffees.

Really great and friendly atmosphere together with a stunning location. Food was pretty good and just about a reasonable price. So nice that the kids can play on the beach in full view which keeps them entertained whilst all the adults discuss Au Pairs and cleaners (see review below)😂. Actually didn’t t hear much of those conversations…. We’ve been coming here for over 15 years when in the area and it’s always a hit.

Fabulous hake special, fish & chips to die for, delicious sea food linguine, superb snitzel, all the food was delicious actually - top quality presentation and taste !! The staff were a delight - very friendly & efficient service despite it being VERY BUSY inside & out in the sun. We had the most relaxed and heartwarming experience despite us being a large party ( 15 adults and 6 children). Eat here! It is truly delicious 😋 and welcoming !!!

Great venue, watching the boats during lunch

The food was good, but parts needed more flavour like the tartare sauce and the tarragon dijonnaise sauce. Bit pricey.

Wonderful spot, although tourist central.. It delivered a great evening meal. Very good for looking after our various intolerances. They have a full time gluten free fryer for the fish and chips so no fear of cross contamination.

We've been going to the FBI for many many years. It was owned by the Wright Brothers up until about 5 or 6 years ago approx. Their menu options were very true to Cornish fresh produce of fabulous seafood (always had an amazing crab sandwich on the menu! And the moules mariniere were delicious) and good local meat with very tasty options plus their Sunday roast was a triumph!! Its just a bit disappointing these days. For example, today there was Chicken Schnitzel on the menu - really?? In a Cornish seaside village?! It doesn't seem to have the same down to earth, Cornish offering on the menu or rustic yet smart feel inside now. As locals in the Falmouth area, we still go 'cos you can't argue that the setting is very beautiful, hence the 5 stars for atmosphere, and they do have a good selection of beers. The service was very prompt today too. Just miss the menu from the Wright Brothers days.

Wonderful spot for a summer's evening, or winters night. Never disappoints. Food is really hood now and had the most delicious shell on prawn.

Great shore side venue, Lots of space to sit, outdoors has its own kiosk to order. Thankfully lots of staff so no waiting. I didn't eat as the kitchen closes in the afternoon (website has hours and menu) A great place to spend a day. No parking to mention, use carpark 100m away. Or walk down from the main road.

We spent an awesome weekend in the area and visited the Ferry Boat Inn several times. Charles and all of the staff were brilliant on every occasion, the food was top notch, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the service was faultless. We will definitely go back. Just a shame that it's a 5-6 hour drive each way!

Great restaurant in a beautiful location. The food was delicious. We both had seafood linguine. I had the delicious warmed brownie and ice cream for desert. The staff were lovely.

The view is so relaxing. There is a mixed menu with lots of cornish produce. The mackerel pate was delicious. Drinks are a fair price too. Best service we've had in a while.

It was a very busy evening Tuesday,25th of June, there was a wait on food and drink but the vibe was good, the place is stunning and the staff was working hard to accommodate everyone! Top spot, class food and excellent staff

Excellent food (we both had the Meghrim from the specials board), friendly and helpful service from all the waitresses, chef on the ball with dietary requirements, lovely location. Definitely going back.

This pub is in a cracking spot on the Cornish coastal footpath. Outside tables looking out over a small beach and the water. Unfortunately the food was very underwhelming. Overpriced and far from being memorable. Cheap tasteless frozen chunky chips that the only thing worth eating on the portion was the cheese. Accompanied by a crab sandwich with fries for £18 which was pretty bland in a pretty regular supermarket bun. This place could be so much better - get your food act together.

This pub is located in a beautiful area of the Helford passage. We went to check out the area and decided to have lunch here. There was plenty of room inside and on the patio. We opted for inside because it was so warm out at the time. The food was excellent and the service was friendly.

Love the ferry boat. Great food and lovely staff....but its the view that wins for me every time

Although this place has a lot going for it (great location and view) I feel they are using this to overcharge for their food. Myself and my daughter ordered the chicken schnitzel and my partner had the haddock tacos. The portion size was more like sow It was tasty and well cooked, but the portion was closer to what you’d expect from a children’s menu. We went home and cooked as everyone was still hungry. It’s a shame as this place is great I’m so many ways but it left us feeling ripped off and hungry!

I really like the Ferry Bost Inn especially when the sun is shining

So got a drink and sat down to have a stone placed on the table saying reserved from 1700hrs (at 1636 hrs) to be asked to move because they reservation had arrived early at 1650 hrs. Well maybe they could wait like any other normal place. Clearly a case of bumping you because some one spending more. We'd have been done by 1700 hrs as originally asked. Won't return, won't spend money here again and won't recommend if this is how you treat your customers.

A must go to pub in Cornwall great food at reasonable prices and a backdrop on the river which is second to none.

Don't tell people that this place is probably the best. Try the fish pie

Perfect after a long Cornwall route march. Stopped for Cider and crisps, it’s a wonderful spot to relax in. Definitely go again on such a sunny gorgeous day. 😀 Staff very friendly and efficient ☑️🍺

I had an excellent dinner here while visiting Falmouth, which is just a short 15 minute drive away and well worth a visit. Walking down from the car park (£2 all day) the view is already picturesque. The setting is beautiful, right on the water front. The service was faultless and everyone was so friendly. I had the special aranchini to start and chicken schnitzel main. There's something for everyone on the menu. The wine list was also great. Looking forward to coming back with my partner in the near future. Thank you all.

A beautiful location to sit outside in the sun! Visited on a weekday during the Easter holidays and it was very busy but service was still very friendly and efficient. Food was really tasty, we only had a few sides but all the seafood coming out looked very high quality. Parking is behind the pub and up a very steep but short hill so something to be aware of you have mobility issues.

Great night out watching the Oggeymen at the Ferryboat Inn last night. Atmosphere was superb and can't complain at the service for drinks and snacks. Didn't eat on this occasion, but know the food is lovely. Big fan of the venue.

We had booked a table as it was the Easter weekend. I felt the menu was quite limited and more expensive than I was expecting. Sadly my burger was overcooked and the meat sort of crunchy and crumbly. I did not enjoy and have no plans to return.

Very pleasant service on what was a busy day for the pub. Food was as you’d expect for a lunchtime menu, but was promptly served even though we were a table of 8. All staff were friendly and welcoming. We will all return again for an evening meal.

Visited twice during our week in this beautiful part of Cornwall, had mussels and fries overlooking the river today after a coastal walk from Glendurgan Gardens, just stunning. Food and service was excellent, staff were friendly and efficient, wish we could come back again.

Excellent food, great service and a nice atmosphere. Staff always friendly and attentive. I had soup on this occasion which was tasty and a nice size portion. My friend had hummus which was lovely but some more bread was needed. Food consistently good.

Great food, friendly service, right on the waterfront. We went in December and they have great overhead heaters so we watched the sun go down over the estuary - a must - go pub!

They provide a Sunday Roast option beef, pork or veggie squash, with specials on the day. Beautiful view over the bay. Great for families or small groups. I had roast pork and cauliflower cheese.

Fantastic experience at the Ferry Boat for lunch today. After a long coastal walk, the service was absolutely fantastic, all the staff very friendly and served so quickly, despite a nearly full restaurant (always a good sign!). Food was quick to come out and absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend and definitely visit again.

Enjoyed a delicious Sunday Roast. Good quality meat well cooked, as was the rest of the meal. With friendly staff in a stunning location there's nothing to fault.

Visited with friends that live locally and would highly recommend it if you find yourself in this part of Cornwall. Great atmosphere and place to watch the sun go down and stunning views of Helford Passage. The food was also reasonably good from what I was able to pick off my childrens' plates.

Stopped here with family for a quick bite and drinks early afternoon. Service and food was excellent. Lovely staff. Great to sit outside in the sunshine with pleasant surroundings and nice views. Found the place to be very friendly and welcoming. All very good.

We visited for drinks and again for lunch the following day. This pub is in a lovely location and overall the staff were friendly. Good food & beer selection. But the tables were dirty, rubbish left on the side was walked past several times by the serving staff. We sat at the same table and the same food residues from the night before were still on the table. My husband asked for a cloth and instead of wiping the table for him they handed it to him! We ordered the fish chowder which was nice but a small portion. The problem is that it is very off putting eating in a place where the staff don’t think it is their job to maintain standards of hygiene. We have been here before and appreciate that it was a busy w/e. But please improve staff training as they are letting the kitchen down
